Strong Hooves 289 February 20, 2012 Share February 20, 2012 (This is for Rose and I) Everypony needs somepony to hold close, but it can be difficult to find the right one whenever every pony you meet makes fun of you for something you were born with. This is the story of a young stallion named Six String, a quiet soul with a heart that yearns to be loved and accepted. This yearning eventually takes him to the small town of Ponyville, where perhaps he will finally find what he is looking for... http://mlpforums.com/topic/7061-six-string/ (Just put your link up and post Rose ) It was a silent morning, the sun had barely risen and a small mist hung in the air. Six String always loved this time of the day, it was quite peaceful, Maybe I should get up early more often, he thought to himself as he walked along an empty road, his guitar strung across his back. He didnt have any certain destination in mind, he just let the path lead him. Before long, a couple ponies pulling a large hay wagon passed him, thinking quickly, he jumped into the wagon without a sound, laying in the soft hay as the two ponies continued to their destination.... Finesthour 7,287 February 20, 2012 Share February 20, 2012 http://mlpforums.com/topic/6712-rose/ The sunlight slowly crept over the blinds of a small shop near the end of Ponyville. The rays of light formed around the room, giving depth to the objects inside of the room. Flowers lined the wall across the room, covering every part of the space. As the light reached the bed that was in the room, it passed over the cream colored mare that inhabited it. The light bathed her body in the warm glow, slowly moving towards her head. The light hit her violet shaded mane, which made it seem almost red. Once the light hit her eyes, they fluttered open, slowly revealing her green eyes to the world. Yawning loudly, she stretched across her bed, throwing her blanket off. She smiled as the blanket fell, following with her stepping off of her bed with her hind legs. With time to spare, the mare walked over to the door at the back of the room, which was revealed to be her washroom. After waking herself up, she trotted over to her bedroom door, showing the stairs that led to the first floor. Slowly stepping down the stairs, Rose saw her beautiful arrangement of flowers that she put on for sale. Ranging from Sunflowers to her favorite, roses, the mare enjoyed what she did for life. Whispering out loud she said, "Time for another day of work Rose..."
Strong Hooves 289 February 20, 2012 Author Share February 20, 2012 Six String continued to ride the wagon all the way to a small town that he had never been to before. Jumping off before they entered, he began to trot across the bridge that led into the town. Six looked all around seeing all the friendly ponies that greeted one another warmly, Nice town, he thought to himself with a smile. He saw some of the ponies had glanced his way, he smiled and waved, but the ponies backed away and left in a hurry, looking at him as if something was wrong with him. This wasnt far from the truth, looking into a shop window at his reflection, he looked at his eyes, one brown, the other an icy blue. With a sigh, he looked to the ground and began to walk on. Seems these ponies aint any different, he thought to himself sadly. He looked up and saw a flower shop, under the store sign, a smaller sign read 'Vacancy', Well I could stay here a night or two, He thought as he approached the store. He opened the door and froze, in front of him was a gorgeous cream colored mare with a brilliant violet mane, Woah..., was all he could think.... Finesthour 7,287 February 20, 2012 Share February 20, 2012 Rose's ears perked up as she heard the door to her shop open. Lifting her head slowly, she saw the first pony in about a week. Rose had not had customers in quite a while, and certainly never colts. Smiling up at him to make him stay, she happily walked up to the colt. Getting close to his face she said, "Welcome to my flower shop! Looking for anything for a special somepony?"
Strong Hooves 289 February 20, 2012 Author Share February 20, 2012 Six's eyes widened slightly, surprised by her sudden greeting. He shook his head to answer her question, then pointed to the 'Vacancy' sign that he had seen earlier. Well... then again, I AM looking for a special somepony... but that seems almost like a lost cause, he thought to himself. He tugged at the strap of his guitar nervously, never having a mare so close to him and not shy back from his eyes before.
Finesthour 7,287 February 20, 2012 Share February 20, 2012 Rose's heart dropped like a rock as the customer was here to stay the night, not to buy flowers. Along with her heart dropping, her face quickly followed, revealing a sad frown. She nodded her head and said, "Alright, I understand. How long are you planning on staying?" Strong Hooves 289 February 20, 2012 Author Share February 20, 2012 Six thought a moment, then, seeing as he couldnt answer without talking, he quietly said, "Two or three nights". He began to look around the shop, many beautiful flowers lined the walls, one section caught his attention, a small boquet of fire lilies, Grandmaws favorite, he thought with a smile. Finesthour 7,287 February 20, 2012 Share February 20, 2012 Rose nodded her head and walked to her cash register and opened it, looking at the small amount of money that was in it. She lifted her head to say the price for the two nights, but he saw that the colt was staring at the boquet of fire lillies that she kept at the back of the room. To her surprise, he was smiling at it. With joy in her voice Rose said, "You like those fire lillies?"

Finesthour 7,287 February 21, 2012 Share February 21, 2012 Rose smiled again, looking back at the flowers. As much as she wanted a sale, she could tell that this pony really cared about his grandma. With every fiber of reason in her mind nulling, Rose said, "Do you want them?"

Strong Hooves 289 February 21, 2012 Author Share February 21, 2012 Six happily approached the lilies, but froze as he reached for them, <no> he thought, <this ain't right, even if she is offering them> Six looked at the price tag, then approached the mare at the counter, pulling out a bag of bits and placing them on the counter before going back to the bouquet.
