"It's not too bad, I didn't really get into the city much though - I prefer being out and about." She explained as Ceres moved closer. "You've never been out of the capital? We'll have to go exploring while we're out here: some of the places you can find if you search about enough, it's the best!"

 

The mare was sitting by her bed, watching her.

 

'Have I got something on me?' She wondered.

A knock sounded at the door, followed by a white mare entering.  "Oh good, you're both here.  I just wanted to let you know that your cabin mate, Fire Sky, is ill and had to leave camp early.  She's in good hooves and will be well taken care of.  She just had to go home and get some rest."

 

The mare then left, closing the door behind her.  Ceres smiled, "Well I guess it's just the two of us then Wish.  How about we go ahead and explore camp?  We can even stop by the waterfall."

"I guess it does." Wish agreed, rolling sideways so that she fell off the bed and onto her hooves. "Yeah, lets see what we can find: maybe see some of the others. Have you met any of them yet?"

 

Wish was a little disappointed that they wouldn't have another pony in their cabin but she looked on the bright side: Ceres seemed friendly and more than agreeable, and they would have all the extra space too!

"Yes, I've met an interesting stallion named Monkshood.  And a white pegasus from Sydneigh, although we were interrupted before I could get his name."  Ceres' face soured, "And a very rude grey pegasus stallion who didn't care to acknowledge my presence."

 

Ceres sighed, getting up.  "But I suppose not all stallions can be worth my time can they?  Have you met any other ponies so far?  And why don't you lead?  I'll follow."

Monkshood simply nodded his head in an almost mechanical motion as the white stallion introduced himself. As long as the conversation didn't go back to him, it was fine. It was actually relaxing for him to just listen to other ponies talk without getting involved. 

 

Just as a conversation begun to establish itself between the white stallion and Ceres, the announcer interrupted Ceres' end. Clearly upsetting her, this made him snicker in amusement under his breath. She clearly over-dramatized everything with the exaggerated flailing of her hoofs. 

 

As he got up to leave the hall Ceres whispered in his ear. What she had said was actually shocking to him, she wanted to see him later? What no-one ever wanted to meet back up with him, unless they were sick of course. He stood in the hall staring into empty space as he tried to process what had just transpired. His mind simply allowing him to say only a few words. "Wait Ceres, what do you mean, I'll see you soon enough"? He stated in sheer confusion, though soon realized she was no longer there, and that he was the only pony still in the hall. 

 

Leaving the hall, he saw others corralling around the bus to grab their bags and belongings. This was irrelevant to him though, and soon found the cabins among the mass of what appeared to him to be random buildings. Quickly he spotted the cabins, this was he supposed to sleep. Oh well, he shrugged it off gently thinking. "I want to examine this waterfall more closely I can unpack later". He thought with an adventurous mindset. Soon leaving for the waterfall.

Blazing stopped just outside the cabin he was supposed to go to. You know... There's an easy way out of this, I could just run away, run away and forget that all of this ever happened. He thought. He shook his head, deciding it was a stupid idea. He continued walking, at least being the first one in the cabin.

Parso left the mess hall and grabbed his bag from the truck. looking around until he found the cabin he was assigned to #1. walking in, he noticed another colt already here

"G'day mate, I guess..uhh.. we're gonna be bunkin' in the same cabin"

"I'm Blazing." Blazing said simply. I think I'm gonna sleep outside, there's no rule against that is there? He wondered. He would have asked about it, but he didn't want to sound rude or anything. He didn't care too much about the rules either way, but he needed to know if there was actually a rule against it.

Pelate goes into the cabin and sees two other ponies "what's up guys?" He throws his bags onto a vacant top bunk to the left of the cabin "How's it going?" He says opening the window sitting on his bunk. He looked at the cabin next to them it was the mares cabin, he was tempted, but no he was too much of a gentleman, it wasn't his thing. *don't peep dumbass* he thought to himself (I just had to do that, it's so funny when someone fights their perverted side) he lays in his bed and lets out a breath. "Oh I'm Pélate by the way"

"Grey pegasus? That must be Pelate! Huh, he didn't seem particularly rude to me... Wish pondered. "I guess I didn't really talk to him much though. Huh."

 

Leaving the cabin with Ceres, Wish couldn't help but feel a little anxious as they walked through camp - like she was being watched. She knew it was the mares piercing eyes: even if she were looking the other way it would feel like she was watching every movement.

 

'Stop thinking things like that, it's rude! You can't feel nervous around ponies just because they have nice eyes! What would Scribe say to that?'

"Pelate huh... I'll remember that name..."  Ceres brooded in her hatred for the grey pegasus for a moment, then allowed herself to calm down.  'I'm not with Pelate right now.  I'm with Wish... who happens to have a very nice body....'  Ceres couldn't help herself, she was indeed following Wish like she said she would.  But her eyes kept tracing Wish's form, watching her every movement as she led the way.  Licking her lips, Ceres decided to snap herself out of her trance.  It wouldn't be good to degrade into that just yet, there was more preparation to be had!  

 

Ceres trotted a little bit faster, catching up to Wish's side.  They had moved through the entirety of the campgrounds at this point, at least the entirety of the buildings inside the camp.  There was a recreation center, the cabins, two washrooms, several toilets, a messhall, a medical building, a classroom, and the lodge that they first entered.  Ceres turned to Wish, gazing into her eyes with her own.  "So not much to the campsite except the buildings... why don't we head down to the waterfall?  It should be a nice change of pace!"

 

Ceres winked, grinning playfully at Wish.  She was goading her, but it was within the acceptable range of actions she would take given the circumstances.  Wish seemed to be accepting of Ceres' advances so far, so this could be seen as either friendly banter or light flirting depending on the mare involved.  How she took the gesture would also give Ceres a deeper insight into Wish.

"Yeah, lets get there before anypony else has the same idea!" The blue maned mare nodded, pausing for a moment to listen intently. "I think it's this way!" She said, waving towards a faint, low rumbling drone in the distance through the trees.

 

Did Ceres just...?

 

'I think she did.'

 

Wish looked around, just to confirm that the gesture was aimed at her. Nopony else was really nearby...

 

'Oh come on Wish, don't be so pathetic. She's your friend. You don't have to read into these things so much!'

 

Even so, she returned the grin as they made their way down the trail towards the waterfall.

Pélate thinks a but about how he rushed out of the lodge like that "oh shit." He facehoofed Pelate bolts out of the cabin "sorry I gotta go untie sobs loose ends, I'll talk to ya later bye!!!" He shuts the door and tries to find the pony he bailed on he knew it was the rudest thing he ever did to a mare it wasn't normal for him to do something like that. He looks down the tail to the right which went towards the waterfall he turns and then shit happens...he sees the mare and he was still sprinting "ah there you are!" and randomly starts to fly towards them his crippled wing gave up on him *woa what the hell am I doing?* he thought. He fell and crashed straight into the mare next to Ceres. Lucky him, he ran into Wish of all ponies. He face planted into Wish nose to nose the pelate fell and landed on his back "awww son of a" he facehoofs head spinning he tries to get back up "oh my god I am not myself today" Pelate was still dizzy from the fall but he goes over to Wish and helps her up "I'm so sorry are you ok?" He says sheepishly. *sheesh I have to give so many apologies today...*

he began to feel a little too cooped up and decided to go outside

he trotted out and took to the sky, giving him a good vantage point of the area. he spotted the waterfall and headed towards it. noticing the body of water underneath, he took a dive. after surfacing, he shook the water out of his ears and floated on his back

"aaah goddess this is refreshing"

"Cabins are split up by genders? Buck..." Blazing said to himself. He just lost his one shot at being left alone with his only friend for the time he was here. "Now I have to get stuck with a bunch of ponies I'm gonna hate, isn't that just perfect?" He wondered out loud, annoyed at how the cabins were divided. After that, he stomped off to his cabin, not saying anything else.

josh picked up his rucksack then stretched his wings and flapped towards his cabin. when he entered he noticed another pony already in there not looking very happy "hello are you okay?" josh smiled at the pony hoping to make a good first introduction

'Good.  No outward reaction is a good reaction.  Soon I'll know what's going on in your head Wish, then we can really play...'  Ceres inwardly had a moment of glee as she followed Wish.  Then the unthinkable happened.  It was that terrible stallion!  He ran into Wish!  Stepping forward, Ceres stoop just a bit ahead of Wish.  Not exactly between the two, but closer to the stallion than Wish was.  If he wanted to make a foolish move again, he'd have another thing coming!  

 

"What do you want?"  Ceres' tone was cold and calculated, her eyes gazed at the stallion as if they pierced through his very soul.  Her shoulders were rolled up and her head and back were straight, as she looked down at the fallen pegasus.

"Watch out Pelate!" Said Wish as she hastily tried to brush herself down a little: it wasn't vital, she was used to losing her balance and falling when out exploring but...

 

'Huh. Maybe he is just rude after all? That was a pretty careless thing to do...' She thought as she looked up at the colt.

 

"What's wrong?" She said, giving up on the patches of dust and dirt to focus her attention on him - she would be able to wash them off in the water soon enough with a bit of luck.

 

'I bet that was the single least graceful thing Ceres has ever seen...' She winced.

"Oh my god I'm so sorry, I don't usually act like this, I don't know what it is but Im not myself today." Pelate sighs he knew why he just didn't believe himself

"...don't be mad at me it was an accident." He said in an innocent tone "also, I didn't get to respond to you because the stupid announcements interrupted me. And I went to my cabin because that was the directions. Do you get it?" Pelate exclaims calmly.

Ceres merely raised an eyebrow at the stallion, his insufficient explanations reaching dead ears.  "Oh I get it alright, you'd rather live life directed minute by minute by somepony else.  You blindly follow orders and do what you are told without question, and you don't mind who you step on to do it.  I get it entirely."

 

Ceres took a deep breath, calming herself.  She had slowly raised her voice, and was on the verge of losing her temper again.  That would be bad, she didn't need Wish seeing her like that.  No, instead she stared at Pelate and spoke in a dead tone voice.  "If you truly were sorry you would have at least said something to me in the lodge as you ran off.  But instead you took the cowards way out and ran away, which tells me you never intended to acknowledge my presence in the first place.  So yes, I understand completely.  Now, if you have no other business here, then leave."

Ceres turned to Wish, changing character on an instant.  She looked Wish over carefully, ensuring that there was only dust matting WIsh's coat.  Ceres smiled as she brushed a few twigs out of Wish's mane, speaking to her in a warm and sweet tone.  "Why don't we get you cleaned up?  The waterfall isn't far from here, let's head over there and take care of you."

 

Ceres turned, motioning Wish to follow her as she started on the path to the waterfall.

"That's kind of the reason why I'm apologizing." Pelate said making angry gestures (not like middle finger just gestures) "I mean yea, you're right It was stupid of me, but you can overlook that little mistake because now you know, I actually care." He said in a firm tone.

"Understand what I'm saying don't jump to the conclusion that I'm a bad pony when you never met me yet." Pelate was serious he cared but didn't know this mare was holding a grudge on something so small.

Ceres stopped walking mid-step.  She turned her head, giving Pelate a side-long glance that could kill a cockatrice.  "Then you can apologize with your actions."

She turned her head forward, calling out to Wish in a sing-song voice.  "I'll be at the waterfall Wish, you can come with me or you can stay here.  It's your choice, I look forward to spending more time with you."

Wish had been watching events unfold in a state of confusion: wondering exactly what Pelate had done to Ceres to get on her bad side. Whatever it was, she seemed really upset about it.

 

Looking back and forth between the mares retreating flank and Pelate, she thought back to one if the last things that Scribe had told her:

 

"You're something special sis, you know? Don't let anypony push you around while I'm away - look out for yourself, okay?"

 

It was hard - she found looking out for others a lot easier but...

 

"Sorry Pelate, catch you later maybe?" She said before trotting after the her friend, calling back to him as she went. "Try and slow down in the future!"

Ceres smiled as she heard the hoofsteps gaining rapidly on her tail.  She knew exactly who it was, Wish.  Simply walking to the waterfall, Ceres was content to just let Wish follow her there.  Once they reached the waterfall, Ceres stopped in awe.  The sun was hitting the water just right to make a misty rainbow where the waterfall was.  Ceres turned to Wish and smiled, "Why don't we get you cleaned up?"

Ceres took one of Wish's hooves in her own hoof and led her to the water, waiting for Wish to set the pace.

Parso floated until he got water in his ears. he stood up and shook the water out and noticed someponies approaching

"oh, G'day.... you're the mare from Cantalot, right. I neva caught ya name. and wish, we met before"

he started to swim to shore, he smiled at wish then looked to the other mare

"you look like sumthin's buggin' ya. ya dont 'af to tell me. oh wheres me mannas, I'm Parso"
