Well, it's um, a bit weird to be in the spotlight like this to talk. About myself at least.
I'll try not to ramble.

Sticking strictly IC, my name's Duskrunner and I'm a regular old Earth Pony stallion. I like wearing jackets because pockets are never anything but useful, I wear bands on my hooves because accessories, and my cutie mark is a pillow because more than anything else my special talent is what I dream. Not so much the means to express or share it but there's no such thing as a talent without challenge.

I first ran into MLP in probably the worst possible way: I quit WoW for cash reasons cold turkey and moved onto free stuff on the internet to spend my time. I hit a place called newgrounds and played a lot of games and saw a lot of fan videos about stuff I already liked, mostly Sonic the Hedgehog and Mario. I typically stuck to the teen to adult range of things because the best writing and complex story plots and dramas and adventures were in that age range.
I ran into an adult rated video and it was pastel ponies. I'd seen the franchise before, what guy hasn't seen and avoided the dreaded 'pink aisle' at the toysrus or walmart growing up and yet knew exactly what it was. I'd seen it before but this art style looked nothing like what I knew in the 80s and looked like it might be something I'd enjoy. maybe it'd be more like Powerpuff Girls, a series I could have liked but for some reason didn't. Maybe this'd work for me. So I entered expecting a drama or action or maybe something with a bit more violence than whatever the 'real' series was: An acceptable introduction and if I liked the characters I'd check out the real show.

Turned out I clicked on the first animated version of Cupcakes.

I didn't make it past the second really bad scene when I felt my stomach bad and clicked the BACK arrow and resolved to avoid whatever this could be.

Time moved on, I got into Warhammer 40k and by coincidence checked out online stuff, again for more free fan content, and ran into the meme character Cultist Chan.

The memory clicked and to see if I could figure what was up I revisited newgrounds and forced myself to sit through the full Cupcakes experience. Thinking that was it and that I could move on I looked up the info on the video and got the title for FiM. I decided to see what other free content like stories or dojin or art or whatever i could find. I got on youtube and instead of an Abridged series like Naruto, parody of course, I found the full series was uploaded. Not since I got through Phineas and Ferb and the Classic Battletech Cartoon had I managed such a find (it's hard to find full series for anything online). So I decided to dive in hoping it would be as much fun as the 3 months P&F gave me before I was done with it. Obviously it's been a lot more than that.

I've been following the community, typically a year behind the times, perpetually trying to catch up. Through the save Derpy campaign, the documentary sadness, the grimdark tumblrs and I'm probably late for the 40k crossover hotness. But I'm current and up to speed, and sat through on opening day for Twilight's ascension and EG and now that I'm as versed as I can be I think it's time I caught up to the last thing I haven't in my rush to follow tumblers and Deviantarts and youtube analyses and music videos and FimFictions- the one thing it (honestly) terrifies me to try:

Try to make Brony friends online.

Well, looks like I did end up rambling a bit after all. Apologies for mixing proper grammar with a bit of my personal speech style in advance; I don't think I'll break from it.
Feel free to pick my brain with questions or make suggestions. Even a -come to this page of mine and jump into the discussion- would be awesome.

And yes, as you can tell I have a lot to say once I get started and obviously that means there's more than one fanfic, review, analysis, argument, headcanon and other stuff inside my head waiting to get out at the slightest provocation. If I'm allowed I will have a link to my stuff, probably on my signature.
