Eiraia turned slowly to Storm. He had gall for sure, considering that she was quite a bit larger than he.

Sneig was my only friend...said the Windigo, almost gently, and it seemed like some of Snow's true self was pushing through. Then Eiraia stopped and looked at him, her body rigid.

Snow no longer exists-your resistance against me is futile! She launched a block of ice and Storm and hit him hard, enough that he spun out of control. Fortunately her aim was a little off, otherwise he would've died.

You hurt me, you hurt "Snowfell"...even if she could return do you think she would want to come back to you? she mocked Krein. You're an Imperator, an enemy. Snow would never love you...she loved Sneig. Do you think you could ever change that? You're hideous, look at you! She gestured to him in disgust. She'll never feel the same way about you.

Picking himself up from where he crashed, Storm dusted himself off and checked for injury. Finding none, he stared at the Eiraia and said, "I didn't know Snowfell that well, but she was still one of us and was dedicated to protecting Equestria. If she hadn't been, Celestia wouldn't haven chosen her to come with us! Snow...I know you're still in there and this isn't what you want! The Snow we know wouldn't hurt innocent ponies that can't defend themselves! Snow...we know that you're hurting, but Krein didn't mean to kill him. In fact, I've seen the way he looks at you. He cares about you and it would hurt him to see you kill innocents. Come back to us Snow. Don't make us do something we'll regret."

Krein flew over to help his father, keeping himself and the other warm with his fiery aura.

 

-"^*^What are you doing?" Sah asked surprised.-

 

"^*^ I said things didn't have to be the way they were, dad... But right now, even if you still want to kill me, we have to save that for later. Snowfell's out of control, and we must do somethingabout before both of us are dead along with the rest of Alcron!"

 

-Sahkoorjun stared at him, but then nodded.

"^*^ Very well.... Do what you must. I will take care of the Windigos..."

He paused for awhile, his expression changing to one of worry as he looked at the blizzard.

"^*^ This is no ordinary blizzard.... I hate to ask this of you, but you must unleash your full power. Even though you're longer one of us, I know that even if you were you would hate to do that...."-

 

"^*^ I'll do what I must to bring her back...."

 

Krein flew into the air and spoke the draconian words for "Release". Hid fiery aura changed once more to match his evil looking c.mark. It grew larger and brighter, until soon it detatched itself from Krein and flew into the air. It released intense heat, scorching and killing any windigo unlucky enough to be in it's radius. Krein still bearer the same aura as his fire gold marking turned crimson. He struggled to maintain control of himself.

 

-"Yol Sah Konahrik!!"

An army of fiery warriorsflew from the miniature sun.

"^*^ Attack the windigos, but leave the other one to him!" he commanded as he pointed a hoof towards Snow and then Krein.

The fiery warriors nodded and began to attack the other windigos, killing them quickly and then moving to the next ones.-

 

"Snowfell, we aren't your enemies! I'm not your enemy! Storm is right, I do care for you, and I would never want this to happen!"

<I don't want to use that shout, but if I must....>

Eiraia watched her comrades die with sadness in her eyes, a rare show of emotion for a Windigo.

Being Snowfell taught me a lot of things...but it's about time now.

She turned to Krein. Speak to her one last time if you must...

The Windigo blinked and its eyes morphed into the black ones of Snow's.

"Krein? Krein!" she said desperately. "You have to stop me now, before It's too-"

She choked up when she saw her fellow Windigos being killed. One of them flew over to her and whispered something in her ear and her face went completely blank as the Windigo was shot down by a fireball.

"You...killed him," she said softly, and she looked him right in the eye. There was not anger or hatred but crushing disappointment and sadness. "Might as well finish the job."

Snow turned and disappeared into the hordes of other Windigos, blending in with them. Her eys changed back and Eiraia seemed to take over again as she looked at Krein.

I hope you're happy, Kreinbahthur. I hope you're happy.

Krein's control was faltering, but he managed to not completely lose himself still.

"If you mean the other Windigo, he attacked me first! I never meant to kill him, I simply wanted to weaken him to keep him off my back while I tried to help you fight Sahkoorjun!"

Krein's red eyes flickered from sulfuric yellow to red.

"It hurts me too you know...."

Enigma was still flying over head. The time for games was over, he had to focus. It was nearly noon, and that meant Enigma's power would be at its height.

 

He saw the fighting beneath him. He was torn, should he save his friends of finish his job?

 

This has happened before, Enigma thought to himself. I remeber being torn like this before.

 

L suddenly spoke up, Indeed it has, Enigma. You've had to make this decision before, and last time you did, it didn't turn out that well.

 

Enigma nodded. He could remember that much. This time would be different.

"Ahraan Frul Slen!!!" shouted Krein as a group of windigos fell from the sky while they gained a more physical body. The fiery warriors rushed towards them, picking them up and then throwing them into the miniature sun to increase it's intensity. He flew after Eiraia.

"Snowfell, you need to stop this! If you let this continue, then both of us will contribute to Discord's plan!! Remember what you set out to do on this mission: To save Twilight Sparkle!"

 

 

-Sahkoorjun commanded the army of fiery warriors, summoning more as each phalanx fell.

"^*^ Use both of the shouts! Temporary Flesh and Soul Searer!!!"-

 

Krein paused.

"I can't.... I can't use those on her, they're too cruel and could potentially kill her!!"

 

-"^*^ No excuses boy! This is war, it's you or them!!"-

 

Krein caught up to Snow.

"Snowfell, please stop this... I don't want to hurt you..."

[Mephala 2,633]

Eiraia looked at him and her eyes changed colour again, allowing Snow to regain control.

She looked over Krein's shoulder and saw Windigos being thrown into the miniature sun.

"What are you DOING?" she screamed angrily at him, and she slammed her body against his. There was nothing she could do but look on helplessly.

"ZAMIEC!" she cried as a Windigo waved wildly at her before being killed. She looked at Krein.

"You know what? Don't kill me," she hissed, and her eyes were full of pain. "I thought I could talk to you. I told you about my past. I thought I was able to TRUST you!"

Snow was definitely crying now. She yelled something in a foreign language and the Windigos began to fly away. But Imperators continued to attack them.

She looked at Krein. "Just get it over with. I don't have the energy right now to kill you." She stopped flying and just floated in midair. Her body was morphing back into a pony form but she was still able to keep herself up. "Go ahead, Krein," she mocked. "Do it. I'm helpless, just like everyone else you've murdered. How much harder can it be to hit me?" She gestured to the piles of dead Windigos. "I guess Discord's gonna win then. Oh wait, I forgot, you're such a big bad boy!" She had adopted a babying tone and she looked at him in complete disgust.

-Sahkoorjun saw and heard what was being said, and gave the order for the fiery Imperators to stop their onslaught. They formed a circle around Krein and Snow, ready to attack in case anything bad happened.-

 

Krein's eyes stopped flickering as he looked upon Snowfell.

"I won't, because I can't... I've come to love you, do you honestly think I wanted all of this to happen?"

 

Krein tried his best to reduce the miniature sun's size and heat...

"Oh, you love me, huh? That's so cute," she snorted. "Guess who else did? Oh yeah, you wouldn't know, you killed him too."

She slapped him hard across the cheek and broke his concentration. "Hey asshole! I'm over here! You gonna kill me yet?" She looked at the sun with obvious hatred. "Nice to know a whole bunch of my followers are in there."

From outside the circle of fiery Imperators, Storm watched and listened to what Snow was saying. "When she had finished, he spoke up. "Snow, listen...deep down you know that Krein is serious about this. He really didn't mean to kill your friend and the only reason we've all been killing the Windigos is to keep them from taking you back as well as stopping Discord. You may have started as a Windigo, but your a pony now, and that's all that matters. We all care about you, but Krein is genuinely serious about loving you, I can feel it. Don't throw his feelings back in his face or force him....or me or Enigma, to do something that we'll all regret for the rest of our lives."

"The only reason we've all been killing the Windigos is to keep them from taking you back as well as stopping Discord!" mocked Snow with a grotesque face. "That makes me like you so much more! I'm just a pawn in your big old rescue game! Stop trying to pretend any of you give a single BUCK about me. It's just making you look worse."

 

She looked at the hole in the sky.

"You know what? Screw this. Screw everyone. I came on this mission to help a friend and so far all I've done is save your pitiful asses."

She glared at Storm. "Who was the one who encouraged me to become a Windigo? I WARNED you that I may not be able to come back! I TOLD you! And you said I should do it! You think you're gonna do something you regret? You're the most greedy pony I've ever met. You all make me SICK. Tell me, did you once see them try to take me? Because they didn't at all. You were all just dying to kill them."

 

Her voice was getting louder, angrier, and there was a boom from the clouds as thunder rumbled.

"I saved you all! Every single one of you! And you repay me by killing my only friends and comrades! I was the one who broke you out of prison! I was the one who sent the Windigos to fight the Imperators! And you just take it for granted and come back for more!"

 

The thunder was getting louder now, and so was Snow's voice. "My whole life I've been trying to prove myself, to help others, to show I'm a good person! I deserved what I worked for! And you've all RUINED it!"

Lightning filled the air behind her. "All I've done is things for others...for once won't anyone just LET ME DO SOMETHING FOR MYSELF?"

Her laughter was sharp and gasping. "So kill me, before I kill all of you. Come one, you friggin' wussies! KILL ME!"

Krein just watched Snow sadly. Without thinking, he flew closer to her and hugged her.

 

(OMG, the post is short !)

Snow violently pushed him off.

"What do you think you're doing, Imperator?" she hissed. "I thought we were enemies now."

"I never said we were..."

 

 

(They're getting shorter :o !!!)

"Get away from me!" she yelled, and she blasted magic at him angrily. "I don't want to see you anymore!"

Storm was doing his best to patch clouds over the vortex in the sky, but it wasn't doing any good. "Snow, please stop! Those innocent pones have done nothing to you! At least stop long enough to let them go...then you can keep going and do what you must. I'll even let you kill me if that would make you feel better. I'm sure Krein will do the same." Storm said with a look of grim determination on his face. "We're the ones who hurt you. And for that, I can say I'm genuinely sorry, Snow."

[Victoria and Co. 782]

Enigma landed with a great crash next to Snow. A false arm swooped from his cape and pushed Krein and Storm aside.

Enigma's eyes were filled with anger, guilt, and pain. They were slightly glowing a deep purple.

 

The false arm moved away from Krein and grabbed Snow's neck. Enigma neared her and whispered,

 

"Do you really want to die?"

 

The false arm picked Snow of the ground as Enigma began to shout.

 

"DO YOU REALLY WANT TO DIE?! Because if so, I can arrange that. Another death on my hands is nothing, I've killed thousands of ponies, all of them were my friends, I'm not afraid to kill you too. I won't mourn your death after you begged for it so much, but know this, I will hate you forevermore. Why? The fact that your 'friends and comrades' have already invested their lives into yours. Your life is currently worth its usual value plus that of everyone who died to come to your aid. If I kill you, you are forcing me to kill all of those dead Windigos again."

 

Enigma paused and looked around.

 

"Wishing death on yourself in grief will not help anyone. Your friends are dead because they tried to help you. My friends are dead because I wanted something. And guess what? This part that really stings, I killed my friends twice, and their investment is still there. I first murdered them by commanding them to battle when I knew they would lose. The battles weren't for anything other than my own gain, but they still fought. Then, I experienced great grief and locked away my memories, sufficiently killing them twice. That being said, I have recovered a bit of those memories and can now summon my memories of those ponies to fight for me as living shadows."

 

The false arm lifted Snow higher into the air as Enigma walked closer.

 

"I killed my friends in lust and I should die for that, but they will still fight for me. Your friends were killed in loyalty and should be honored for that, but you want to die. If you let me let kill you, if you ever die, you will be just as evil of a monster as I am, and let me tell you something, you don't want to be as bad as me..."

 

Enigma, calm down, L said calmly into Enigma's mind. Put Snow down, it's okay, you don't have to do this.

 

"Shut up," Enigma yelled at L. "If she wants to die it's up to her. She's had a rough life, why not end it? There is nothing more angering to my than someone who throws away another's sacrifice. There's nothing more angering to me then someone who's like me..."

 

Enigma glared at Snow.

 

"Make up your mind, is the sacrifice your friends have given, too heavy for you to carry the rest of your life? Or does it make your life that much more worth fighting for?"

Snow laughed weakly.

"You know nothing about me, Enigma. Absolutely nothing." She looked at him. "What more is there in life if everyone you ever knew is dead and your only company is their murderers? They may have died as heroes but that changes nothing. I am nothing like you Enigma. Stop trying to make it sound as though you matter."

The arm disappeared as Snow easily slipped away from it. "I've changed my mind. I'd rather kill all of you before I die. And anyways, there's a promise I have to keep."

She looked at the clouds with a sad smile. "I never really wanted this, you know? I thought being a pony would be so much different than being a Windigo-no fighting, no pain, no suffering-but it was worse. My past is much more painful than what you've heard. I've killed so many others I can't even count..."

Snow started to rise towards the clouds slowly. "So maybe Discord will win or Twilight Sparkle will die. But there's nothing left for me here. I'm sick of doing things for everyone else. I just want to be myself...."

She was almost at the clouds. More Windigos were standing at the edge of the hole in the sky, watching her slow ascension.

"Snow...I understand that you feel the need to go, and I'm not going to stop you. Just remember this...if Discord does win, countless more creatures, not just ponies will die. I've seen Discord's work...he will either mutate or just outright exterminate a species just for his own amusement. What's to stop him from coming for the Windigos? If you really want to keep that from happening, I'd say to stay and help us, but I know you don't care at the moment. At least give it some thought. And remember, we'll always accept you back into the team. We're friends, and that's never going to change." Storm said to Snow as she continued to ascend towards the clouds. Snow just looked at him for a second. Suddenly, her body began to violently twitch, and her eyes glazed over. She fell to the ground with a thud and stopped breathing and moving.

Krein ran over to her motionless body while Sah slowly descended from the air and landed next to him.

 

"^*^Is she ok?" Krein asked worridedly.

 

-"Laas." Sah looked at her for a moment.

"^*^ Her aura glows faintly, I'm not sure what's wrong with her..."-

 

Krein nudged her.

"Snowfell, please wake up..."

(Hohoho! *evil rubby hands*)

 

Snow blinked and opened her eyes. She wasn't in her body though, she seemed to be like a ghost. She was still in Alcron, and when she looked down she saw her own body at her feet.

Fortunately no one could see or hear her. There was a crack behind her and she turned to see a familiar face.

So are you gonna keep your promise?

Snow ran over and hugged Sneig. "You're still alive?" she asked, confused.

Ia, you're in the realm of the dead now. This isn't reality.

"So..." Snow looked at him with some concern, "you aren't really here?"

I may not be but this conversation is as real as it gets.

Snow sat down next to him and hung her head. "I'm so sorry, Sneig...I couldn't get there in time..."

Sneig sat down next to her and soothed her. It's not your fault. None of this is your fault. It's theirs.

"I know," Snow said angrily, hot tears on her cheeks. "I swear, I'm going to kill them all."

Sneig looked at her and said, No, you're not.

Snow stared at him. "What are you talking about?" she gasped. "He killed you in cold blood! They killed everyone!"

He looked at her carefully. Maybe this is selfish of me to say, but I don't want you to go back.

"All this time we talked...all this time you've encouraged me to go home, and now you want me to stay?!"

Calm down and listen to me for a moment. He put a hoof over her mouth, forcing her to stop talking.

Throwing your life away after everything you've been through is stupid, Ia. You've worked for everything, so hard, and now you're just going to give it up and let the others win? Maybe it's not what you want right now but if you return you know what'll happen.

"Yeah, I guess," said Snow slowly.

Maybe all of them are assholes, but you can't let them get the better of you. You deserve better than what you have right now, Ia. The only way for things to improve is if you keep living.

"But they killed everyone!" she cried, and Sneig comfortingly embraced her.

I think it's time you come out now.

Out of the shadows stepped all the other Windigos that had died. One stepped forwards.

"Zamiec!" said Snow. Then she looked down. "Oh, you must hate me."

I don't hate you, grinned Zamiec. We died saving you, and that's what we were born to do. Before Snow could say anything he pressed on. I'm here to tell you that none of us are angry with you. You are our princess and we want you to be happy.

Another stepped forwards. "Burza?" asked Snow incredulously. The Windigo nodded with a smile.

You may have deserted us but no one holds it against you, Princess, she said kindly. We have moved on.

Snow nodded at them. "Thank you all so much...you were the greatest friends anyone could ask for..." she whispered, and with sad smiles they all bowed to her before disappearing.

Snow sat there, Sneig the only one left. However, his body was flickering like a lightbulb before it burns out.

"Snieg? Oh no, don't leave!" begged Snow. He just ducked his head.

This is going to be the last time I see you, Ia. Promise me you won't go home? He grinned at her sadly and, like he had before he died, kissed her quickly. His body was fading quickly.

Snow looked at him and hugged him. "Promise. I think my name's Snowfell now."

He squeezed her back and said, Snow it is.

With that, Sneig disappeared, and Snow was left alone.

 

She walked over to her body and looked down at it. She knew she could stay here, in this dead land, but there were things Snow hadn't finished just yet. And then again, she had a promise to keep.

 

Snow blinked and opened her eyes. And she was finally where she belonged.

Krein was about to hug her when she awoke, but Sahkoorjun pulled him aside strongly.

 

-"^*^ Don't bother Kreinbahthur, she has her heart on someone else."-

 

"^*^ How do you know?"

 

-"^*^ There's a reason why I'm called the PHANTOM King of Summer. Partly because of my ability to cause an offensive smoke double of myself, but also because I can see and hear the ethereal..."

Sahkoorjun told him everything he had heard (in draconian of course).

"^*^ She will stay, but..."-

 

"^*^ You don't have to go on, I know what you're trying to say."

Krein sat down next to his father and looked at Snow.

"How you holding up?"

Snow didn't look at him. "Fine."

She was thinking about how Sneig had kissed her. She'd never known he'd liked her, all this time, and now she wasn't sure how she was supposed to feel about him now.
