"Snow, I don't want to risk losing you to your Windigo side, but I don't think we have a choice. Krein's life is on the line if we don't act fast, and ours' will be soon after him. Just keep focused on your objective and you should keep from changing for good. I have faith in you Snow, and I know Krein does as well." Storm said to Snow to hopefully motivate her to action.

Snow nodded and sighed. "Alright, I'll try."

She closed her eyes and began to focus.

Coming back, I see, said a voice as Snow's body began to morph.

I'm not planning on being here any longer than I need to be, she replied snarkily, and then there was a flash of light.

The Windigo Snow looked at all the ponies and for a second its normal voice was Snow's.

"As soon as I leave I'm going to open the door-I need you all to leave!" she gasped, as though each word was a struggle. The Windigo passed through the door easily but with jerky movements. It swung open and Snow's voice was fading.

"Get out...now...not much time before-"

There was an evil laugh and suddenly another Windigo appeared next to Snow, looking cruelly at all the others.

Thought I was gone for good, didn't you?

There was a humming noise and Snow yelled one last thing.

RUN!

 

(Just saying, each time she turns into a Windigo she'll have less control over herself until eventually it takes over, so watch out! )

[Victoria and Co. 782]

Suddenly, the second Windigo found itself pinned to the floor by a massive form of white fur and muscle, a yeti.

 

"Not today," the yeti grunted as black tendrils shot from its back, trying up the spirit.

 

After speaking, the yeti quickly began to change. There was a flash and then a phoenix stood where the yeti had been only seconds before.

 

The phoenix spread its wings and a bright wave of hot air was thrown at the detained Windigo.

 

"I don't want to hurt you," the phoenix said slowly. "But if I must to keep my friends safe, I will. Without the slightest hesitation. Now, for your sake, I suggest you return home and save this fight for another day, one that doesn't have me pressed for time. One that might allow me to show you a bit of mercy..."

Krein looked up at the dragon.

 

"^*^ Aw... Is the little pony sad?" the dragon taunted as it prepared to swing its tail. Krein ducked and created an obsidian blade and sent it through the skull of the creature. He sadly watched as it went down with a thud. Krein saw Snow, Storm, and Enigma in the distance and prepared to run to them to keep them from any Imperators, but before he could he was blasted with a freezing wind of cold by Kaal.

 

*"Don't even bother, weakling," his father said as he lifted the shivering alicorn and tossed him back in his cell.

Kaal snarled at Krein, hitting him with a lesser cold wind to spite him. The two took off to continue to watch how the spectacle would play out as they sent in some dragons and soldiers to deal with them.*

 

During the battle, Krein had begun to forget abput his sadness and was rearing to go and fight once more, but hearing his father's disgusted tone made him sink back into his depression. He breathed a silent prayer before he passed out from the cold.

"God, please keep them safe... At least get them out..."

"Enigma! I knew you'd show up! Great timing, buddy!" Snow said as he hopped into the air and spawned a few clouds that were cracking with lightning. "And you, Windigo, you best listen to my friend there, unless you want to be melted and struck by lightning." Not taking his eyes off the spirit, he said to the Windigo Snow, "You can turn back to normal now that you've opened the door for us. We don't want you at risk for longer than you have to be. The sooner you do, the sooner we can go find Krein and get out of this hell hole. Oh and don't tell Krein I said that, you know, in case he still cares about this place." The imperators formed a circle around the group of other ponies.

 

"Well well, looks like we get to kill a pegasus, a unicorn, AND two windigos!" one of the shouted.

They casted their offensive spells and prepared to strike...

"Guys, stand as still as possible!" Storm shouted as he broke out one of his defensive skills. He flew in a circle around his friends, making a wall of wind that would stop all the Imperators' offensive spells and reflect them back at their casters. "That should hold them back for a little bit. We need to come up with a plan of how to escape guys." Storm said as he came to a stop above the rest of the group.

[THE WILD HUNT 213]

A dragon stepped forward and spoke two words, "Riik (Gale) Nir (Allegiance)." A light blue energy came from its mouth and went towards the whirlwind, turning it to the same color as itself. The whirlwind Storm created moved away from the group as the dragon pointed a claw to the side. It smiled as he formed it into a twister and used it to attack Enigma. The Imperator ponies grinned as they casted magical swords and spears and began to advance on the other ponies.

"Well...that failed. Anypony else got any bright ideas?" Storm shouted to the rest of the group while dodging the spears and magic that were being launched his way.

[THE WILD HUNT 213]

The dragon roared as it breathed a stream of flames towards the other Windigo, sending it crashing into a wall. It looked towards Snowfell and prepared to shoot another fire attack.

The Imperator mages continued to attack as pegasi with bladed wings silently flew over the group. They dove quickly towards them to slice their bodies to ribbons...

"This is starting to look really bad...we really need to do something, you guys!" said Storm with a hint of urgency in his voice as he continued to dodge and kick every Imperator that came within range. "We can't keep this up forever!"

(Okay screw it, I'm tired of calling her Windigo Snow since she's not really Snow. Eiraia is like her secret personality XD I'm just calling her Eiraia when she goes full out Windigo XD)

(If I put asterisks around a sentence they're talking in the Windigo language so you can't understand them.)

 

Eiraia looked down at the ponies and then at the Windigo that had been thrown against the wall. She flew over to him and helped him up.

*Didn't think you were gonna come back,* grinned Sneig.

*I don't know what you're talking about,* Eiraia replied. *But we've got a nice group of Imperators here...you game?*

Sneig nodded and stood up. They turned to face the Imperators and their entire bodies began to glow...

 

(Just saying, other people, I wouldn't screw around with them right now XD)

[Victoria and Co. 782]

Enigma sat while the whirlwind spun around him.

Were they trying to get themselves killed? Enigma sighed and began to focus his mind.

 

With a bright flash, the whirlwind stopped spinning and began to collapse in on itself.

There, where the eye the storm had been seconds before, stood the giant beast, Typhon.

 

Enigma roared through Typhon's mouth, as if as to challenge all who dared come near him.

"Ok, its time I stepped up to help!" Storm said as generated a few lightning clouds and absorbed their power to cover himself in a lightning aura. "Now you suckers will have an even harder time catching me! With this Lightning Shroud, as I like to call it, my speed is comparable to natural lightning and anything I touch gets a nasty shock!" After he finished speaking, Storm disappeared a blur, only to appear seconds later and slam into one of the Imperator dragons at full speed. The dragon roared in pain and collapsed.

The Imperators were beginning to back away at the other ponies' retaliation. A commanding voice was heard from nowhere however, and spoke directly to the soldiers.

-"^*^ You fools! They are too strong to take head on! Unbridle your voices and let them tremble!!!"-

The Imperators seemed confused for a moment, but then one of them recognized who had spoken.

"Sahkoorjun... ^*^ Our leader has given us an order!!"

They reassembed themselves and prepared to attack once again. One group of pegasi hovered in the air and yelled.

"LOK VAH KOOR!!!"

The storm clouds began to disperse as the energy flowed from their voices, leaving Storm without a power source and vulnerable for the time being...

Another phalanx faced the Windigos and shouted as well.

"KRII LUN AUS!!!"

The soldiers casted their fiery swords and prepared to advance as the Windigo's glow slowly began to dim, and a settling weakness and tinge of fear began to invade their bodies...

Another group of Imperators shouted the words for Unrelenting Force, sending Typhonigma flyimg backwards and crashing into the ground. The dragons circled above him and prepared to strike...

Sahkoorjun slowly materialized over the battle. He looked at the Windigos with and spoke some words of his own, "Koor (Summer) Riik (Gale)..."

A breeze began to blow, however, the temperature around them began to rise as Krein's father whispered some other words, turning into a ghost-like alicorn before fading from view completely.

 

 

Outside of Alcron, a lone dragon observed the battle...

"Horsefeathers! No matter what we do, we're shot down at every turn! If we don't do something soon, we'll eventually get tired and get overwhelmed! We need to get out of here...NOW!" Storm said with an urgent tone in his voice.

[Victoria and Co. 782]

The Imperators began to attack the fallen Enigma, but before there attempts where close, something else began to happen. Tpyhon's body began turning to stone much like it had when the team had defeated the real Typhon not to long ago. All that remained was a broken shell of the once mighty beast.

 

Just then the rock shuddered and began to collapse in on itself. The inside was pitch black, and it wasn't long after the first Imperator had peered inside the great cavity, that hundreds of hands, the same color as the darkness, shot from the ruined Typhon and began grabbing the alicorn warriors.

 

As the hands tightened their grip, they began draining the magical energy from their captives, even knocking some unconscious.

 

"HA!" boomed Enigma's voice, which was being amplified by magic. "You didn't honestly think that Typhon was my plan did you? What kind of an idiot would go on a rescue mission, with just a great big lug for protection and back-up?"

 

Enigma appeared from beside the rocky shell, a slight smirk on his face.

 

Just a little more, Enigma thought.

 

Enigma heard L in the back off his head,

Do you really think this will work Enigma?

 

It doesn't have to work, it just has to stall them for a little bit more, Enigma responded to L's question. This isn't supposed to kill them or hold them, it just needs to distract them. That's what this is all about, distracting the Imperator's...

 

I know that Enigma, I was here when you came up with the plan, L retorted matter-of-factly. What I mean is, can you trust them to follow through on there part in time?

 

Enigma nodded. I've put all my faith in them, let's hope they can get the job done.

[THE WILD HUNT 213]

Toormaarnax saw the Imperators become distracted at Enigma's actions, and spread his wings and flew towards the Colloseum. A terrifying screech was heard by all, causing the soldiers, Windigos, and other ponies to cower in fear. The black dragon breathed a plume of fire on a few phalanxes, roasting them alive. Behind the dragon flew in a band of the reformed Imperators. They attacked the pegasi in the air while others landed and began to attack the soldiers on the ground. Toormaarnax looked at Snow/Eiraia and then at the other ponies.

 

"Go!" he roared. "Go and do what you must in this city and then continue your journey. You are not far from the one you seek to save."

With that, Toor blew a gust of freezing air towards the Windigos to try and return their strength. He looked back towards the sky and shouted to call in a thunderstorm to help Storm and then whispered the word, "Vokun (Shadow)," to temporarily augment Enigma's shadow skills. The dragon then returned to fight the Imperator dragons that were attempting to call in for help.

Feeling his strength returning thanks to the returning clouds, Storm renewed his Lightning Shroud and yelled to his team, " Hey guys, I think I can make a hole for us to escape, cover me and stay as close as possible!" With that, he flew up to gain a little momentum, then pulled into a dive, vanishing from sight again with his lightning speed. Suddenly, a group of the enemy Imperators are blown aside, sparking with electricity and Storm is seen hovering where they were. "This way, you guys! And hey, Dragon...thanks for the backup. I hope to meet you again someday so I can repay you for this." Storm says as he fights to keep the hole open while his friends move towards him. Edited March 23, 2012 by super muffin derpy506

The Windigos hadn't followed. They'd stood there and saw Krein's father materialize into a ghost.

*Well? You up to it?* asked Sneig, bumping Eiraia with his shoulder.

*Let's go,* she agreed grimly. They too disappeared like clouds of mist. She had ignored Storm's request.

[THE WILD HUNT 213]

As the Windigos were flying through the sky, they were suddenly hit by an invisible force. Sneig was sent plummeting down in a vortex of swirling fire while Eiraia was blasted out of the air by a large flameball...

 

Krein awoke, still shivering from the cold that Kaal hit him with earlier. He sensed his father attacking and began to try and work out a solution to free himself...

[Mephala 2,633]

Eiraia caught Sneig before he hit the wall of flame and the two plummeted towards the ground together

Before they hit it, Sneig began to float again, and he carefully held her with something almost like concern.

*Are you okay?* he asked, carefully touching her cheek.

[THE WILD HUNT 213]

-"Funny, I thought you were with that weakling boy of mine," Sahkoorjun said as he materialized in front of them. Something was strange though, his image seemed rather smoky, but the two windigos dismissed it and assumed he looked like that because he recently came out of his ghostly state. One of his eyes burned a deep red while the other burned sulfuric yellow. He flapped his wings, and flew at high speed towards the two. However, instead of crashing into them, he swiftly passed through their entire bodies, causing a wave of intolerable heat to hit the windigos before flying back into the sky. He whispered the same words as before, and returned to his phantom state and disappeared from view.-

 

Krein struggled to stay conscious as he peered through the bars of his cell. He saw a couple of torches.

<That won't be enough to fully restore me, I'll have to get.... That.>

Krein smiled weakly as he noticed a barrel of oil put up against a wall. Focusing all his strength into his telekinesis, he tipped it over, causing it to spill its contents all over the ground.

<I got lucky there... Thank you God!>

He waited a little bit longer to let his strength return to him since he had been drained for a moment due to the effort he put in casting a seemingly simple spell...

"Ahem," a form stepped out of the shadow's near Krein's cell.

It was Enigma, with a slight look of distress on his face.

 

"I hope you don't plan on lighting that. Who knows what an explosion, even muffled by you adsorbing the blast, could do to this place. Not to mention the attention it would draw. Why don't we take a less destructive and loud approach, then, once we are away from the oil, I give you a little phoenix support, sound good?"

 

Without waiting for an answer, Enigma morphed into a yeti. With little effort, Yeti-Enigma ripped two bars off the ground and carefully set them down. Then, he bent the bars on either side of the new hole, expanding it so that Krein could easily fit through it.

 

"There, was that so difficult?"

Krein crawled out of his cell.

"Ugh... How about that phoenix support now? Getting hit by freezing cold blasts are not my thing... Just carry me away from that oil and we should be safe..."
