Did you try restarting the phone after you cleared the cache/browsing data? Sometimes that can help if things start getting slow. Though I don't know why it would be slower, as I clear my cache/browsing data all the time, even when I had an iPhone. I don't know either, but restarting my phone worked and it works like it should now.
