I'm trying to make a spellbook.

So I've been researching Wicca and pagan religions lately, and the thought of having my own magic spell book sounds so awesome! I have already created a few monsters and demonic looking ghosts, with spells and symbols that represent each of them. I also included a made up plant, and a made up artifact. Its basically like a glossary of cool witchcraft related stuff, for my own entertainment. I think these types of books are called grimoires. I have this black, leather notebook which looks perfect! I use red ink and write in fancy cursive letters, giving a story behind each monster and drawing a sketch of how it looks like.

 

What do yall think of this?

I can't believe I'm openly saying this, but I believe it's like the Book of Shadows from Charmed, it's probably not where the book originated from, but that's where I saw it first. Sounds like a cool idea.

also can i add some thing, a spell of a gem or something that lets you summon and control a creature of some sort

rarity possesses a gem-finding spell in addition to the standard telekinesis, which occurs for the first time out of her control in a flashback in The Cutie Mark Chronicles. why not add that to your spellbook

Every monster comes with a set of symbols, which can be translated into a made up language that I just thought of. These symbols can be placed onto runs for further enchantments and things like that. It would be cool to hear more ideas from you guys!

Well, Lets see.. Whitches where pagans who thought that they could make potions and cast spells to present misfortune on others. It was basically the equivalent of being a drug dealer nowerdays, Very illegal.

 

The king described a witch as a woman with dark clothing and a long nose. Anyone with these features would be sentenced to death using some creative witch-hunting techniques! These consisted of..

- Reciting the lords prayer

- Reciting the bible

- Strapped to a chair, thrown into pond

- Strapped to weight, thrown into pond

- Setting on fire

- Burning witch with hot clay

 

And many, many more.

 

Studying witches was considered scientific and witchcraft was feared throughout the country. Famous witch-hunters would tour villages and kill innocent people (and people who claimed to be witches). These hunters were considered celebrities.

Write some stuff in Gallifreyan and in Saurian. You write it in English, but it's codified differently. I think that Saurian is particularly cool.
