mystd 0 November 16, 2013 Share November 16, 2013 I hope it's safe to discuss it here I don't know where else. I'm currently researching flash made cartoons and I've been stumbling across all this mlp "birds and bees" content. Since a lot of little children watch the series there is a high chance many of them will stumble upon this content. While I thought about what could be done about it I remebered an old series I watched as a child called Once upon a time.. Life (Il était une fois… la Vie). I loved this series as a child and my parents didn't need to teach me anything about birds an bees ^-^ Because filters are not 100% foolproof why not make an mlp s** education episode I thought. That way children would learn about life softly and not get shocked to badly while searching for mlp related content.
Malinter 3,064 November 16, 2013 Share November 16, 2013 (edited) I always get a chuckle out of comic on this subject. in one. AJ has a "Pinkie is about to change the universe as we know it" sense that goes off while Applebloom as the question of where ponies come from. Another is where we see what the love poison would have most likely done to the couple. the look on the CMC's faces shift from confusion to horror was they try grasping what Big Mac and Cherilee (off screen) are doing is priceless, also funny in that while the other cover there eyes, Sweet Belle still peeks.. Another is where the CMC ask fluttershy the question, only for pinkie to appear and we find out they literally meant birds and bees, but Fluttershy's sex ed as already traumatised them. Mand'alor Dash 2,224 November 16, 2013 Share November 16, 2013 You know why it's called Rule 34, right? Because it's literally a rule. It's inescapable. The internet is for porn, everything will be porn'd, and there is nothing any of us can do about it. But, I don't see why the show proper should just "embrace it." I wouldn't want my kids learning the facts of life from a bunch of talking horses, and I'd imagine neither would most other parents. 1 Amoral cynic with a bitchin' vocabulary. mystd 0 November 16, 2013 Author Share November 16, 2013 (edited) @Mandalore Dash So you'd rather like your kids learn it while they search the web for thair favorite cartoon characters and see them getting ra***? I know that there is nothing one can do about it, that's why I suggested the s-ed. I'd rather like my future children to learn it the soft way rather than from some perverse stuff floating around the web. Sadly cartoons like Once upon a time.. Life aren't broadcasted anymore. SveciaDash 364 November 16, 2013 Share November 16, 2013 (edited) The show shouldnt do it... the parents should do it or the school. If people demand the show to have it and they just throw their kid infront of the TV to learn about such facts in life then its just lazy parenting. Me and my parents havent EVER talked about it and im 18 I turned out fine.. kinda. As long as you raise your kid right its all ok Its a cartoon after all and the little leasons at the end are a good addition but the writers dont sit down and think about the small leasons they have to learn they just kinda come in at the end real smooth. They dont create the show around the small leason. And if you allow your kid to have a computer with internet connection... he/she finding out about ''adult content'' is kinda hard to avoid. CT-1138 3,183 November 17, 2013 Share November 17, 2013 To be honest, I always thought of cutie marks as the analogy for the "birds and bees". A coming of age concept a lot like puberty. Denim&Venöm 19,365 November 17, 2013 Share November 17, 2013 The series already has spawned that question, as I'm sure any kid who has watched the Baby Cakes episode has probably asked where babies (or at least baby ponies) come from.
