Okay, So I was watching the cutie pox (If you don't know what the episode is about, then don't read this)

At about 16 minutes in, when Apple Bloom is going through the town doing her two "Talents" she throws a plate at Twilight, and it spins around and makes her mane look just like Rarity's. THEN Spike pops up holding his hands with hearts in his eyes, looking at Twilight.

Did anyone else catch this? Does this mean all you'd have to do is make your mane like Rarity's for spike to have a crush on you? Thoughts everypony?

Well it was an element of humor. It doesn't mean that if you get a plate rapidly spun around your mane doesn't mean you'll end up like Rarity's mane. But spike appearently is infatuated by Rarity's mane design, so yes he will fall in it. Remember the reverse in Double Rainboom?

 

I do have to say that was pretty funny.

Now now, don't be making assumptions that Spike developed a crush on Twilight over a little hair style! Remember, my friend, it's all in humor.

All in the humor, yes, yes, we could say that! It was very funny, I got a big smile and a laugh out of that. Though it did bring questions :3

I just took it to be the animators putting in a visual sort of joke.  I didn't really take that seriously.
