Not_A_Replicant 111 November 25, 2013 Share November 25, 2013 (edited) So while I was watching the Season 4 premire, I noticed that during the fight scene Nightmare Moon's magic on two occasions sounded EXACTLY like a Dalek's death ray from Doctor Who. Notice at both 2:16 and 2:26 And at 47 seconds the next video shows Jack Hartness taking his final stand against 3 Daleks, who use their extermination beams on him. Maybe the producers were paying tribute to Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary because both were on the same day. Emperor Posh 360 November 25, 2013 Share November 25, 2013 (edited) I don't really think they sound all that similar. NMM's sounds sharp, and the dalek's sounds dull, but two completely different sounds. Edited November 25, 2013 by Emperor Posh Random white text! Skarrox 1 December 11, 2013 Share December 11, 2013 I only found this because I wondered if anypony else had heard the resemblance. What made it funnier is the the Doctor Who 50th anniversary was released in theaters the same day that episode aired.
Scootalove 10,692 December 11, 2013 Share December 11, 2013 Maybe the reference came from the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary being released in the theaters when the episode came out, that's pretty funny. 1 Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
Doctor XFizzle 8,670 December 11, 2013 Share December 11, 2013 I heard it. It's not the sound of the full beam attack, but when NMM's beam initializes and starts to shoot. Fhaolan 4,494 December 11, 2013 Share December 11, 2013 I hear the resemblance. It's not *exactly* the same, as far as I can tell, but my speakers aren't that good, so grain of salt time.
Frosty Flurry 173 December 12, 2013 Share December 12, 2013 Perhaps it's a easter egg for the 50th anniversary of Doctor who. Does slightly resemble the sound
