Is a Business Major "Worth it"?

This is a question I had, but it isn't a real problem, so it doesn't merit being in the Life Advice Section. So this is something for those people who are in college or graduated from college. I am hoping to work in business when I'm an adult, as either a Stock Trader or an international capacity for a large cooperation like Boeing. However, it seems that undergraduate business degrees are a dime a dozen these days, so my question is, are they useful in getting a job in the business field? This is going to play a huge part in my college decision, because while some of my potential colleges have a dedicated business school, (USC, Georgetown, U Penn, Tulane) others do not. (Dartmouth, Northwestern, UCLA)

Thank you for your help!

You need a bigger pool of potential colleges :]  You're leaving out some good ones.

Northwestern.

Why you ask? Because Northwestern.

Actually, go to a school that actually has a dedicated business school.

Haha, would it be fair to make the assumption that you attend Northwestern University?

Well, I'm gonna assume you're a Wildcat whether you want me to or not!  :)

Do you think that an ACT score of 34 and a 12/12 on the writing would be good enough to get into Northwestern? I know my scores are good, but Northwestern is a very good and very selective school...

Wow nice!

Well, my ACT superscore was a 31, so I wouldn't say that I'm a test-taking genius. :P

You definitely have the ACT score for Northwestern, or even for many IV-leagues. Keep in mind that your GPA also matters though, as well as how many AP you took.

My GPA is lower than my test scores would suggest, only a 3.75. But I have taken 6 AP classes, and everything else has been honors. (This is the toughest course load my school offers) Also, I go to a college prep school that grades on a more difficult scale than public schools, if that helps at all. (A 93% is an 'A', not a 90%, for example)

Then you're pretty much guaranteed to get into most schools.

Haha I wish! Schools like Northwestern and the Ivies are so good, that there's around 5,000 other people just like me also applying to them, and they will only take half those people, if that, into their class. Isn't it just a crapshoot to some degree?
