(OOC: Although the OOC has an open slot for Soarin', I'll be taking over him until someone signs up for him.)

 

"They roam around, capturing whoever they could take under with the shadows..."

 

Thunder Dash was flying high in the sky doing his daily patrol around Ponyville. He had heard of the Shadowbolt's conversion and growth. He had to find Spitfire and Soarin' fast, for he had heard that they were the only two Wonderbolts who were able to get away. Spitfire and Soarin' used the Everfree Forest as a refuge from the Shadowbolts, as they hid in most parts of Equestria. Thunder Dash looked everywhere, yet still couldn't find them.

 

Meanwhile in a very deep part of the Everfree Forest, Spitfire and Soarin were trying their best to stay away from any Shadowbolts, as Shadowbolts have a conversion magic they use to overwhelm the host with dark magic. Even if the host is an earth pony, it still coverts them to a dark Shadowbolt pegasus. "I hope somepony finds us soon..." Spitfire stated. "Let's hope it ain't a Shadowbolt." Soarin said shivering.

(Sorry if it's short, little busy today. Trust me, I can do better.) (and remember, he can be a little mean/uncaring about his job during the day)

 

Hack was sleeping on a cloud. It was simply far too early in the day for this. News of shadow bolts going around, ponies telling him to patrol. He yawned, "Why wont they ever assign me a night shift..."

 

While he was a sleep, Hack had a weird dream. He dreamed that he was watching the world pass by him, extremely fast; and this loud buzzing in his ears. He opened his eyes to see a brown pegasus, probably a rookie flyer, with his head stuck in a cloud... His cloud... He was falling out of control, and a small firefly was trying to wake him up.

He tried to regain control of his wings, but they were still asleep. They felt numb. He did the only thing a well trained ponyville patrol officer could do in this situation. "AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Thunder Dash heard a scream from somewhere and dashed over to the source. He found a pegasus screaming. "Bad dream?" He asked as he tried to calm the pegasus.

 

Meanwhile in the forest, Spitfire and Soarin were still in the same place. Spitfire was starting to get worried that they might be converted soon.

Hack slowly opened his eyes, and looked at the pony that had saved.

 

"Bad dream?"

Slowly his breathing returned to normal. The near death experience had managed to do something that doesn't normally happen to him. The event had woken him up. Oddly enough to a pony patting his head. "..."

 

He slowly got up, brushed himself off, and turned towards his rescuer. "Thanks, I think we owe you one..."

"We? I thought there was only one of you." Thunder Dash stated. "The names Thunder Dash. What's yours?" Thunder Dash asked the pony who was slowly recovering.

 

Meanwhile Spitfire was trying to get a look around without getting caught. She made sure that Soarin' was still in a safe place.

Soarin' remained silent for a good few minutes while he thought. Then he smiled- granted, it was rather forced. "Well we should keep a-movin', then. Any idea where we should go, Spits? You are the cap'n, after all."

"...it's a new series of entities. They've taken over the Wonderbolts!"

 

"What?!?"

 

"Well, it's the only explanation! There's something behind that, but, suddenly, every single Wonderbolt goes missing!"

 

"Hopefully, the Wonderbolts can hold out until we get something serious done... but for now, we need to find Spitfire at least. Soarin' too, if he made it. Get all the information we can out of them. Set out a permanent watch over all the major cities and towns. Tell them that if they see the Wonderbolts or any Shadowbolt to immediately contact us... we need to know who's infected and recover Wing Commanders Spitfire and Soarin'. Immediately. It that understood?"

 

"Yes, sir."

"I told you Soarin'! We can't go anywhere. Shadowbolts are on the loose and now they know that we're the only two Wonderbolts left! Somepony must find us and lead us to a safe place, where we can discuss our plans on how we should deal with these Shadowbolts. They've got dark magic. We don't have magic at all." Spitfire explained.

"But, I mean, even if we stayed in the Everfree, don'tcha think that if we stay in one place, it's going to be even more likely for us to be caught?" asked Soarin', quietly. "If nothing else, we could move around in the Everfree a bit. Just a few miles at a time. Take it slow and move along. And, even then- you're Commendation Gold on flying! You even fly faster than that Rainbow Dash! If nothing else, you can outrun them if push comes to shove." He paused for a moment. "Err... you are faster than them... right?"

"Look Soarin', Shadowbolts can travel just as fast as Rainbow Dash and I. Because of their dark magic, they can even teleport if they wanted to. Even if I try to fly up outta here as fast as I could, I'll still be caught and then you'll be the only Wonderbolt left, and we can't have that happen." Spitfire stated

 

Meanwhile Thunder Dash was still with the pony who had the nightmare.

"The name's Insomni-Hack, call me Hack for short; and the 'we' part of me is... Fi!" He started to panic. "Where is she? She was with me when I was falling. Could she have..." 

 

He could hear a small buzzing coming from Thunder's hoof and relaxed. "That terrified me. I thought you died! The Firefly on your hoof is Fi." He started to chuckle at how he over reacted and how Fi had run off, and said. "She must have gotten out of my hair when you were patting me. I'm sorry."

"That's okay." Thunder Dash stated. "Say, did you hear about what happened to the Wonderbolts. Apparently  there has been an epidemic that caused them to turn into Shadowbolts, and if we get touched by one or they use their magic on us, we'll be Shadowbolts as well." Thunder explained.

Hack had confused look on his face. He had been sleeping heavier than he thought. Even Fi buzzed, from on top of Thunder's head now, in a confused way.

 

"Shadow bolts? I heard the rumors, but I thought they were an old foals tale?" He scratched his head and continued, "I'm usually out flying at night, and I didn't really see anything."

"Nope, 'tis why I'm staying in the sky, or in my home in Cloudsdale. One rule, you must NEVER enter Shadowtail Forest. That's where the dark shadows roam. Three Wonderbolts ventured in there only to explore, which is how it all began." Thunder Dash explained.

"So, you've heard about the Shadowbolts then?" Shadow Strike said, walking up behind the two Pegasi. "Name's Shadow Strike, what's yours?" Shadowtail forest. That's where I'll start my search for Spitfire and Soarin, then. She thought to herself. Her current mission was to find and rescue the two remaining wonderbolts, then defeat the shadowbolts.

"Yeah, but it's WAY too dangerous to go into Shadowtail Forest. Shadows still lurk around. If and only if the force of Dark Shadows do not affect you, then the Everfree Forest is the best place to start. Names Thunder Dash by the way." Thunder stated as he combed his mane and sparks flared around.

@, "Well, I ain't exactly happy with stickin' in one place, waitin' for them to find us." Soarin' commented shaking his head. There was a silence for a few minutes. "Well, whaddya want me tah do? I ain't gonna be sittin' around all day, waitin' for them to find us. Shouldn't we, like, get food or a disguised shelter or somethin'? I don't fancy gettin' no food or sleep, even if it's just less sleep than usual."

"Hmmm, if there was somepony who could disguise us as Shadowbolts..." Spitfire thought out loud. "I know Rarity makes really good stuff, but I don't know how we could get to the Boutique without getting caught. We can't fly high, but perhaps if we fly fast enough...we could stay very low and get the Boutique without getting caught.

 

(OOC: Just a heads up, as DM, I've got control over Shadowbolts)

((@, I understand that. You mind if I godmod one or two of them if we get chased? Like, having them cast stuff for him to dodge and stuff like that.))

 

"That's a good plan, but... what if they have some sorta magical bond thingamajig that let's them know who's real and who's faking?" Soarin' shrugged.

As the two talked underneath, a small airship speedily cared its way through the afternoon sky... it's intended destination was Ponyville- the nearest entrance to the Everfree Forest from Canterlot. Its goal at the moment was speed, so pretty much anyone who was watching the sky where it was could see it approach... although they wouldn't for long, due to the sheer speed.

"You've got a point...but it's worth a try. I just hope somepony is there who's able to reverse the shadow spell in case something goes wrong..." Spitfire stated as she got up and spread her wings. "Ready when you are." She proclaimed as she waited for Soarin'.

Fi started fly out of Thunder's mane as he combed it. Hack acted quickly and caught her. She was starting to cut it a little too close for his comfort. "And my name's Hack." He said while putting Fi back where she belonged. "Nice to meet you strike." He would have loved to go back to bed, but this news of shadowbolt's and disappearings interested him. If nothing else, in matters like this he should stay informed.

Spitfire was waiting for Soarin' to get ready to fly. She really hoped that this plan wouldn't fail. They were the only two surviving Wonderbolts and absolutely nothing could happen to them.

"So, I guess we should start heading over to a major town such as Ponyville. If Princess Twilight's there, she could be a valuable source in this mission. She may even know a spell that can turn any possessed pony back to their normal form." Thunder suspected as he gathered some electricity and made a small map appear.

 Soarin' gulped and then spread his wings, positioning himself on the ground, ready to pounce back into the sky. "Well... I guess I'm ready when you are, then... I guess."

Spifire then took to the skies but stayed down low. Shadowbolts would be high up searching for Wonderbolts they missed and sure enough they were. A shadowbolt spotted them and swooped towards them. Spitfire happened to look back. "Shadowbolt!" She shouted as she sped up her pace. The shadowbolt nearly gripped Soarin's tail.

@, "Eep!" He rolled the the side, keeping the Shadowbolt from grabbing him. As the Shadowbolt changed positions to swipe at him again, he rolled back to his original position and turbo'd forwards, keeping pace with Spitfire.

 

((Fast fact- did you know that the Spitfire was a British fighter plane in WWII? The more you know...))

The shadowbolt continued to swipe at Soarin's tail as it too sped up. Spitfire sped her pace. She could see a faint glimpse of the Ponyville Town Hall up ahead. "We can't lead this Shadowbolt to Ponyville. Let's veer it off course." Spitfire stated as she faked a left turn and went right. The shadowbolt nearly fell for it. 

 

(Yeah, I knew that. Spitfire is also a car model as well.)
