ghostfacekiller39 23,860 December 12, 2013 Share December 12, 2013 He was a great pitcher who will be in the hall of fame, but I doubt on the first ballot. -Nobody- 519 December 12, 2013 Share December 12, 2013 I don't really see him as a first balloter, but I think he gets in. I'm just nobody at all...
Wingnut 6,998 December 12, 2013 Share December 12, 2013 Halladay pitched so hard and so well for so long. As much as anything else, he's known for his stamina and being relatively injury free. I'm just surprised that he hit the wall so suddenly. A shoulder surgery to be followed by a back surgery? Didn't see that coming. I expected a much more gradual decline. While he may not have been an ace at 40, I seriously thought he'd still be a number 2 or 3 on someone's starting rotation. His career may have ended abruptly, and without a World Series ring, but Doc was an exemplary pitcher. One way or another, he'll be in Cooperstown.
