~Blaze~ 15 December 16, 2013 Share December 16, 2013 Don't get me wrong, I want to be a lawyer. Anyways, I have some stories about stupid lawsuits. If you have any, please add to this collection. Some time ago, a lady walked into a McDonalds, ordered "extremely hot" coffee, and then proceded to spill it on herself. She filed a lawsuit, and became a millionheir after winning. Another, a guy broke into a house, and when he found no exit, almost died of starvation/dehydration until the family returned two days later. He sued them, and won. Wow. 2 I'm a nerd now. Nerds are cool.
Scootalove 10,689 December 16, 2013 Share December 16, 2013 (edited) I guess anyone these days will sue over things that have no meaning, or they just file lawsuits for no reason. There is this one lawsuit where, a woman sued a dead man who was struck by an oncoming train. That case is definitely something I question. These frivolous lawsuits have no purpose, but the company would have to be the one who is in the wrong for it to make sense. Shanks 10,816 December 16, 2013 Share December 16, 2013 And what really sucks about these kind of lawsuits is they ruin it for people who have legitimate claims. There are plenty of companies as well as the government doing some pretty messed up stuff that lawsuits would be more than warranted but the frivolous stuff should come to an end. 2 Rarity Get's Cockroaches
PoisonClaw 8,166 December 16, 2013 Share December 16, 2013 One lawsuit story I always remember is one where two kids sued their mom...for being their mom. Specifically, they sued her for "bad mothering" with such crimes as not letting her daughter spend a fortune on a prom dress, as well as calling her too check to see if she was going to be staying out past midnight, not taking her son to a car show, telling him to put on his seat belt while they were in the car and, the cherry on top, getting one of them a birthday card...they didn't like. I believe it floated around court for nearly two years before it was finally thrown out, which is two years too long in the opinion of anyone with half a brain. ~Lawful Haze~ 173 December 16, 2013 Share December 16, 2013 In Ireland, a man broke into a house with a baby and 2 parents. Upon being discovered, the father of the child picked up his "Hurley" (Like a hockey stick, used for Irish sports) and threatened the man, telling him to leave. The intruder then jumped out of a window in order to escape, and landed on the house's conservatory, brekaing the glass and injuring himself. He then sued the house owners and won the case. Fucking cunt. 1 Please tell me someone gets the joke? :3 ~ Gilda gets unlimited counterattacks, so watch out! (HOMM3 logic)

She filed a lawsuit, and became a millionheir after winning. This law suit was 100% justified. She deserved the money. It was actually an old lady. Her entire lower body was completely molted and her genitals were severely burned, that's how hot the coffee was. Today she can barely walk. If you saw the pictures of the injuries you would see what I mean (they're far too disturbing to post on here). She even only asked for $20k (to cover the medical costs), but McDonalds made the absolutely insulting and pathetic offer of $800 and refused to raised it so she pressed on. Guest December 17, 2013 Share December 17, 2013 (edited) The moronic logic is off the charts with these people. What really bugs me is that there are actual legit people who make a living by sueing others for millions of dollars for even the slightest things. ChoroChii 284 December 17, 2013 Share December 17, 2013 Yeah, that coffee story is why they have to put hot warnings on coffee now.
