Would giving a cutie mark to one of the CMC really be that bad?

The problem is, once the CMC get their marks, what exactly can the writers DO with them? :\

 

It's getting kind of old, but having characters achieve their goal before the story is over ain't good either...

I don't see any problem with finally giving one a cutie mark. If anything, it'd create an interesting dynamic - would the other two be happy, or jealous? Or both? Would she no longer be a CMC since she's no longer questing for her mark, and will this in any way put a strain on their friendship?

If handeled poorly it would be horrible.  It's a big deal cause it's gone on for so long.

 

does the moment itself have to be huge?  I don't think so.  I know tommy oliver wants it to be this big epic thing,

and yes their should be a pay off.

 

that can be on the way there, or what fallows.

if it happened during a 2 parter where it wasn't even the focus and the second part of the story had some great moment about it sure.

 

Honestly?  I'm not sure how they could do it.
