Corona headed towards her next class she would have enough time to make one of her regular classes but would have to go to practice right afterwards. Lunch would also be tricky but it could be done to be able to have lunch with Sterling. Corona flew through the halls and happened to see Sterling in the halls. This time though he was walking with another mare, seeing this made her wonder what they meant to each other. It made Corona start to wonder what she meant to Sterling, for now she was content to sstay behind and not bother them as she trotted towards and into Biology class before taking her seat.

Sterling was having decent fun with Pink Heart as they conversed. He noticed her jumpy and vibrant mood she consistently brought whenever she chatted. in the conversation, Sterling could only walk and listen though as Pink Heart continually chatted about her deep love for the arts, especially with drawing. Sterling also noticed that she took an interest in music, and when she finally told about her favourite instrument, the flute, Sterling interrupted,

 

"The flute?! That's a great instrument! I'm personally a pianist and a violinist."

"Oh really?! Oh you must be so talented then! Wow... I want to hear you play Sterling! Can I, can I?!" Jumped Pink Heart in reply. Sterling was completely stunned at her very outgoing and optimistic attitude. He couldn't refuse, especially considering how insistent and kind she was...

"Umm... sure... why don't we... do it before music class ok?" Sterling replied awkwardly. By the time he said that, Pink Heart jumped happily and said goodbye just before Sterling headed off to class. All Sterling could think was how weird that encounter was as he headed inside biology class...

Corona watched as Sterling walked in with that other mare, her mind was swimming with worry and ideas. Oh what if Sterling likes this new mare more than me. We have so much in common and we are a perfect match for each other. Oh what should I do? I know I'll just see if Sterling wants to do something after school with me or something, that should......" It was at that point Corona heard Sterling agree to play some music for the new mare. Corona felt her heart sink inside, she couldn't shake the feeling that this new mare was being overly friendly with him. Corona decided it would be best to just leave them be, Corona made a quick glance at Sterling before hiding her face behind her biology book.

Sterling walked into the classroom, wondering why the mare was so hyperactive around him. It looked like she was the type to do so, and Sterling was already feeling very dizzy trying to match her buoyant, yet jovial mood. Sterling looked around and saw the place where Corona normally sat, and he made sure to sit beside her. Sterling noticed Corona hiding behind her textbook, and he wondered why he was doing that... 

 

"Corona... are... are you alright?" Sterling asked, confused as to why she was clamming herself up so suddenly...

Corona looked back at Sterling and smiled. He still likes me I know it I can't just give up like that again I have to keep going. "Yeah I'm fine just a little nervous about practice after this class. Shadow is kinda getting to me just a little bit." Corona giggled, she was actually a little nervous, she'd practiced years for this moment but still was a little jittery about the prospect of playing on the Feather Falcons. Corona got a good idea though, a way to spend some more time with Sterling before the end of the school day and outside of class. "Hey Sterling we'll be taking a break around the same time you guys go to lunch so did you wanna have lunch with me? I know a nice little spot Star told me about we could eat in peace."

Sterling was preparing his notebook and textbook for math class when Corona merely mentioned her nerves about practice that was to happen after the class. Sterling looked at her with care and responded,

 

"Corona... you'll be fine. I know you can do it. I saw you racing outside at math class. You looked really fast... and you looked really cool..." Afterwards, Sterling listened a bit longer and noticed that she asked to hang out with her for lunch. That made Sterling's heart beat a bit faster. Sure it was a mare who already cared for him a lot, but being asked out lunch was not something he was used to, especially for a mare. Sterling merely gave Corona a happy, dreamy look before giving a dreamy "Yes" as his response... Luckily, biology class didn't start yet...

Corona giggled on the inside, she was glad to be able to have Sterling have lunch with her. Corona blushed deeply when Sterling gave her a confidence boost and a Compliment. Corona wasn't used to getting anything like this from anypony other than her parents and that didn't really go very far for her. "Uh ok I'll see you at the practice field for lunch ok." Corona pulled out her biology book and notebook, she was ready and with the few minutes left she pulled out her sketchbook and continued working on the sketch she started last night. Corona was being mindful to keep it hidden from Sterling, but making sure to make quick glances with her eyes to make out key details. Corona could only giggle and smile as she sketched.

Sterling continued to show a dreamy look as he waited for biology class to start. He was wondering about Corona... why she looked so wonderful... and also why other mares like Pink Heart were being so friendly to him. He never received attention like this before. He continued to stare up at the ceiling as the biology teacher walked in and prepared their things to begin class...

Corona put her sketchpad and pencils away when the teacher entered and started the lesson for the day. Corona listened as the teacher talked about the lesson for the day. While she was listening intently she couldn't stop thinking about having lunch with Sterling later today. Corona was doing her best to understand what was going on but unfortunately she didn't really grasp the whole Biology thing. Hopefully she could get Sterling to do their homework together after school either at her house or maybe even hers. Corona squeed at the thought not realizing that she actually let it slip earning an odd stare from the teacher.

Geometry. Diamond Glitter hated this class. She could never understand the abstract shapes that were ever present all around the classroom. She didn't sense its relevance to her goals as a political force to be dealt with. While Sterling was busy multitasking his dreamy looks of Corona with taking biology notes, Diamond Glitter was busy thinking of some way to get herself promoted for Student Senate. She continued to write down all sorts of campaigning methods and possible research she could do to get more power to herself. She wanted the position badly, so badly that she forgot that class was already starting...

Ruby walked into Geometry and took her seat, having just gotten done with gym class. Ruby pulled out her notebook and started writing things down, mainly ways for her to get back at Star Shine. She looked over and saw the mare she'd run into yesterday after she threatened that ugly mare. But something caught her eye, and it was that this mare was writing stuff down on how to become Student Senate. Ruby scoffed on the inside before getting up and walking to the mare. "Ah I see you're running for Student Senate. A futile prospect for a freshman, since no freshman ever wins."

Diamond Glitter was writing down about her plans for Student Senate until a certain mare came along to peek her at work. It was Ruby of all ponies... she apparently got her attention without even having to try... Just her luck. And she wasn't even ready to impress her yet. All she could in reply was give a scoff before she returned to her notes, realizing that Ruby had already offended her deeply the first time they met.

Ruby just grinned mischievously before trotting away. Ruby had friends all over school, and at least one in each every club in the school. Ruby did this every year it kept the whole school in check and allowed her to do whatever she wanted to do and no one could stop her. She can try all she wants to become Student Senate but I'll still end up winning. Nopony can win when it comes to me." Ruby pulled out her book and notebook waiting for class to begin.

Eventually, Diamond Glitter put her stuff away, realizing that the dreaded geometry class was about to start. To make matters worse, the teacher was like a very boring university professor. He merely lectured from the textbook with a very soft, uninterested voice. It became very difficult for her to stay awake, let alone pay attention in class. She tried her best to keep up, but his voice easily made her imagine the possibilities of winning the highest position at Student Senate...

Ruby listened carefully as she took down her notes for class. Although she put up the facade that she didn't like school she was quite the straight A student. It was during this time of the class that Corona and Shadow flew past the window. Ruby noticed that it was Corona who was out in front. Ruby grit her teeth, she wanted to run outside and give one of her friends a hand against that ugly mare but she kept her cool. It wasn't until near the end of class that a note magically slid under the door and to Ruby's desk, opening it up and reading it didn't make her any happier. Curse that ugly mare, she'll pay for this...but how? Ruby looked to Diamond, and remembered how she praised Ruby yesterday for picking on Corona. Ruby then grew a wicked grin.

Diamond Glitter wasn't going to risk herself by not paying attention to geometry, even if it meant having to endure such a boring class. She got back to writing her notes at this point, but while trying to do so, she heard a loud whoosh that came from outside. She looked out the window and saw Corona flying through the sky with another pony... She couldn't believe the immense flying ability she possessed. After they flew away though, Diamond shook her head and quickly got back to her geometry. She would much rather think about that over Corona's flying ability... any day.

The bell rang for the end of class and the signal for lunch to begin. Ruby was one of the first out of the door and knew what she was going to do to make that grey mare's life miserable. Ruby was waiting for Diamond, she would be the best pawn in her plan to put the hurt on Corona. Once she saw Diamond walk out Ruby stepped in front of Diamond, stopping her in the door. "Hey there Diamond care to sit and have some lunch with me I believe we have a common goal in mind."

Diamond Glitter was glad that geometry class was finished. She couldn't take another minute of working on triangles and that thing called trigonometry. She was going to quickly rush out to the cafeteria when all of a sudden, Ruby blocked her way. Diamond Glitter wasn't too thrilled to see her, especially after her snub. But when she mentioned the common goal, Diamond's ears quickly piqued. She replied with intrigue, hoping Ruby was thinking what she was thinking...

 

"What... what common goal are you speaking of?" Diamond Glitter replied with a suspicious look.

Ruby moved next to Diamond and draped a wing over the freshman. "Walk with me Diamond." Ruby started down the halls towards the lunch room, some of Ruby's group saw what was going on and gave her some room. Ruby continued leading Diamond to the lunch room before taking her outside and sitting her at the table that nopony dared sit at except for Ruby's group. "The goal I'm talking about is that nauseous grey mare...Corona." Ruby grit her teeth on saying her name. "We both want to take Corona down probably not for the same reasons but still that mare has done things to us that she'll regret. She just completely showed up my closest friend Shadow in that race you just saw." Ruby stomped her hoof on the table in anger. "I want her out of Hoofstomp, cause I have a feeling she's gonna be a problem. So if you can do something to make her regret coming to school or make her go home in tears...I'll support you for senate, and you can roll with my group leaving you practically untouchable. How's that sound?"

Diamond Glitter listened to Ruby as she spoke. She had this mantra about her that made her want to do anything... even if it took a lot of evil to do it... She already had it before, but not to this capacity... Diamond Glitter's eyes beamed when Ruby mentioned Corona's name. She had a long, terrible history with Corona, and she wanted Corona out of here... forever. She wanted to run for Student Senate all her life, but was skeptical about her support. What if she was just trying to pawn her? Diamond would have to find some way to wrest Ruby down hard... But for now, she only had this to say:

 

"Well well Ruby... I see we do share a common goal... I'll help you out." Diamond Glitter chuckled evilly, realizing that this was her chance to get back at Corona once and for all. Little did she know though...

Ruby smiled wickedly at the prospect of letting Diamond humiliate Corona. "Well then Diamond I'll leave it to you to prove how much torture you can cause Corona. Once you do I'll give you my support for Student Senate." Ruby was doing a good job of recruiting Diamond, although she would have to be careful. Although she was gaining a powerful player in her group Diamond could prove to be a problem later. I'll keep an eye on this pony for a while and keep her popularity and fame lower than mine. We wouldn't want her getting higher than me now. Ruby thought to herself, pulling out a sandwich she took a bite and swallowed before speaking again. "So do you have any idea of what you plan to do to Corona off the top of your head?"

Diamond Glitter was excited about this. She knew Ruby was a very powerful mare in the school. If only there was some way to wrest some power away from Ruby in the process... Diamond knew it would be hard, but she certainly wasn't thinking about that at the moment. She was thinking more about humiliating Corona and making her suffer. She was interested in becoming the president of Student Senate. Finally, she was interested in advancing herself as a mare. And all that... was going to start today. Diamond was already thinking of some ideas on crushing Corona for good, but she didn't like any of them. Nevertheless, she replied to Ruby as they sat at one of the lunch tables a distance away from Corona,

 

"Hey... you know Ruby... I've noticed Corona hanging out with a certain stallion... Maybe we could start somewhere there... we would need to find some way to humiliate Corona in front of him... then he'll leave Corona to rot... and she'll be gone before we know it." Diamond Glitter felt an epiphany, knowing that if this was successful, then it would all be over...

Ruby raised an eyebrow when Diamond mentioned a way to break apart Corona's life. "Hmmm you're right Diamond from what my friends have seen she's running with a maroon stallion. Perhaps they have a thing for each other? There is another mare that's been talking with this stallion, perhaps you should start with her Diamond." Ruby looked out into the distance and could see Corona and the maroon stallion talking. It made her blood boil at the thought that she ended up beating Shadow, the one stallion that she had a thing for and would rule the school with. Something had to be done and soon.

Diamond Glitter didn't know about this other mare Sterling was with. But she felt that things probably were going to back-fire if they decided to use another pony unless Sterling truly had two loves. She shook her head at the idea, thinking that it would be too extreme.

 

"Let's put it this way. It'd be too risky too early. Plus, how would we know whether the pony would agree to join us? I don't think brute force would really pull sway to many ponies around here. I on the other hand, prefer to work with the naivety of the ponies. With that in mind, we need to set up a sabotage. Make it so that the maroon pony's to blame for Corona's embarrassing moment. If that doesn't work though, we can then go to plan D..." Diamond Glitter replied with confidence. She hated Corona, but she didn't want to reveal herself so early, something that would be probable if they were to use another pony so early...

Ruby hated to admit it but Diamond had a point to what she was saying. Ruby thought hard about a way to get back at Corona and then she looked at Shadow and then it hit her. "I'll agree with you on setting her up but we should build the distrust between them it will take some time but it would be worth it in the end. The first Wingball game will be next week and it's a home game, so Corona will probably want him to be there. What if we did something to make it to where he wasn't there?"
