Diamond agreed that they had to set up the distrust. But she wasn't thinking about a diversion. It would be too risky. Sterling might love Corona too much already, learning from past experiences. Diamond was thinking of another idea...

 

"That would be risky. Most stallions receiving this sort of attention tend to fall head over hooves for their mares. I suggest we find some way to frame Sterling for setting up an embarrassment for Corona... How about painting her mane grey... After all, most ponies here make fun of her grey body... Why not make it worse by making her completely grey... permanently?" Diamond Glitter chuckled evilly at the thought. It would be perfect. All they needed was some sticky, grey paint, and she knew where to get them...

Ruby smiled wickedly at the thought. Painting her whole body grey would be perfect, and it could be the perfect set up for the start of the distrust for them. "I like the way you think Diamond, you may just make it far if you stick with me. But the one problem is, how are we going to paint her? If they are as close as you think they won't be easy to separate from each other, and I'm not exactly too keen on making it obvious that it was us." Ruby could use her group but even then it would only do so much. Shadow wouldn't be able to do much, unless...Ruby's mind lit up and the thought made her fur stand up on the back of her neck. "How about we have Sterling bring Corona's gear to her with the paint sealed inside. I've got a friend in the home-ec class that knows a spell that will conceal the paint and won't activate until she puts the gear on."

Diamond Glitter liked Ruby already... she had the resources and the contacts... it was pure genius emanating from her mouth as she continued to speak. It was something she admired. The utilization of resources to accomplish anything she wanted... she replied with excitement in her eyes,

 

"Yes... I love this... That is pure genius... let the paint become concealed... Ohh yes... I like your style Ruby... I like you already..." Diamond Glitter then chuckled evilly, knowing that this was the most evil plan they could conjure...

At a nearby table, Pink Heart was eating along. She wasn't sure whether Sterling had any feelings for her. Sure it would be really nice for Sterling to play for her, but something didn't feel right... did Sterling really want to be with her? Worse yet, did Sterling even want to be her friend? Her eyes suddenly perched when she heard two ponies chattering about a certain plan... all she could hear was a maroon stallion and a mare... and an evil chuckle. Pink Heart thought her ears were playing with her, but her focus suddenly shifted to the conversation... What were they planning? Oh if only she knew... She turned closely towards the table where Diamond and Ruby sat, and quietly observed their mumbling from afar...

Corona was running through the practice drills like coach Dust wanted. Since she announced the list of who was doing what position, Corona had become ecstatic. Not only had she beaten Shadow in the race but she'd managed to secure the Lead Ace roll and had put Shadow in the position of being back up Ace. It wasn't long before the drills stopped Corona and Shadow out pacing most of the team for now. Lightening Dust blew the whistle, gathering everypony to her she announced that they were going to take a break for lunch. With that Corona flew off back to her bag, getting her lunch she flew into the cafeteria to wait for Sterling. I hope Sterling shows up so that we can eat lunch together.

Sterling's biology class was now finished. He was excited at seeing Corona for lunch. He knew Corona would spend most of the day at practice because she got accepted to their flying group. He walked into the cafeteria, wondering where Corona was... He could see a lot of mean ponies, but Corona was hard to find... Where was she? Did she arrive yet? Or maybe Sterling couldn't see that well among the crowd... All Sterling could do was look around, wondering where Corona was...

Pink Heart was worried about Sterling. Why were those ponies snickering so evilly about Sterling and another pony? Just as she was about to continue pondering, she heard a lunch tray smack on top of the table. She jumped up in surprise and saw none other than Erlen...

 

"Hello! I figured you were someone nice after we met earlier today. What's eating you?" Erlen asked, unaware of Pink Heart's concerns....

 

"Oh... it's... it's nothing. Just... just thinking about... homework! Yeah! Homework!" Pink Heart chuckled nervously. She didn't want Erlen to know about Sterling, worried that she would hurt his feelings... He seemed like a nice stallion after all. 

 

"Oh alright. What are your classes like for this term?" Erlen asked with intrigue, hoping to start a nice conversation with this nice mare...

Corona was looking around for Sterling but with all the students in the cafeteria it was making it hard for Corona to find Sterling. Corona flew into the air and started looking for Sterling. Within moments she managed to find Sterling, snickering just a little she flew right above Sterling and tapped him flying to the other side of Sterling and then landed. "Hi Sterling. I'm sorry for not finding you sooner, the amount of students made it a little hard. If you're ready just follow me outside and we can have our lunch together." Corona blushed a little shuffling her hooves in place, before she flew towards the doors keeping in view for Sterling.

Sterling felt a tap on his body while looking for Corona. It WAS Corona! Sterling jumped and instantly greeted her happily. His feelings for Corona soared through all they went through. And Sterling showed that in his reply,

 

"Sure! Let's head outside! Away from all these ponies! Come on!" Sterling then walked towards the exit when somepony decided to stick out his back hoof and trip him. Sterling bumped face first to the ground, and all the other ponies turned and laughed. All Sterling could do at that moment was shake his head in confusion...

Pink and Erlen were having a decent time chatting. Although things started awkwardly when Pink was in deep thought, she eventually shifted her focus to Erlen.

 

"Well, I've got a lot of art classes this term. I have Music with Sterling, Drawing Arts, English, and Media class!" Pink Heart giggled when she mentioned Sterling. She couldn't help it. She liked him a lot.

 

"Wow... you're very artsy..." Erlen complimented in reply. Pink gave a giggle before thanking Erlen. Afterwards, Erlen continued,

 

"Well I'm taking a lot of science courses. Very different from you. I have Chemistry, Physics, History, and Grammar this semester." Erlen chuckled, realizing how different they both were. Nevertheless, he found Pink very sociable and friendly...

 

Just as Erlen was about to continue, they heard ponies laughing all across the room. Erlen was wondering what happened, but with all the ponies, he couldn't tell. So all he could do was sit there with Pink, hoping that the laughing would subside...

Corona turned when she heard ponies laughing and saw Sterling on the ground, she quickly turned around and landed next to him and picked him up flying both of them outside. Corona didn't stop she flew out and behind the school, the place she found was a place nopony went to cause it was on the edges of the school grounds. Corona set Sterling down in the grass at the top of a small hill, there was a lone tree but what was on the hill was what made it special. The grass was littered with thousands of beautiful flowers, a open circular patch of grass meant that someponies did come out here so they kept it trimmed. Corona pulled out a blanket from one of her bags and set it down before taking a seat. "Well Sterling what do you think? It's beautiful isn't it?" Corona asked, looking around while she pulled out her lunch.

Sterling was feeling quite faint after tripping like that. He didn't even remember how he got tripped, but he did remember being hoisted by Corona and being flown out of the school into what looked like a beautiful meadow. Sterling shook his head after the landing, and he looked around. He was stunned at the beautiful meadow that was well kept and filled with flowers. He could only open his eyes in wonder at the beauty of the small hill that they were currently sitting on.

 

"Wow..." was all Sterling could say...

Corona pulled out a well packed lunch and started setting it out on the blanket. The mix consisted of some cookies, a salad, some juice, and lastly some daisy-lettuce, and tomato sandwich. "It's really pretty isn't it Sterling. I happened to see it when I flew around town the first few days we moved here. It was so pretty I spent most of my day here sketching it and then coloring it in." Corona laid down on the blanket and pulled out her sandwich before looking at Sterling who was still lost in the beauty with his mouth agape. Corona giggled, she loved the way he acted around her it was cute. "Sterling are you gonna have a bug lunch today?"

Sterling looked around the garden, also hearing Corona commenting on the garden's beauty. Sterling was still in deep thought about the garden, marveling at all the flowers around him...

 

"Yes... it's... it's very pretty Corona... I can imagine you spending all day here..." It was that moment that Sterling remembered to ask Corona about the garden itself,

 

"Corona... why is the garden so well kept? It's so beautiful... and yet. No one ever comes here... More ponies should enjoy it..." Sterling knew that ponies of all kinds would enjoy it deeply, but it seemed like no one ever came here, which confused Sterling deeply. Sterling continued to ponder about the garden, not even noticing that Corona asked him about lunch...

Corona smiled and giggled inwardly at Sterling's astonishment about the garden.being so beautiful. "I'm not sure who keeps it looking so pretty but whoever is has got a good skill if it's not their special talent." Corona stood up and trotted to Sterling and waved a wing in front of his face hoping to snap him out of his trance. "Come on Sterling lay down and have lunch with me. I brought enough for both of us plus I...well....um....made you something." Corona blushed as she headed back to her spot on the blanket and laid back down.

Sterling snapped out of his trancewhen he saw Corona's wings being flapped at him. He repeatedly shook his because before being returned to reality. He looked back towards Corona and blushed when he realized what he just did. Sterling saw Corona talking out her lunch, leaving Sterling wondering what it was. He could see that it was a large lunch, but he still wasn't sure what it was.

 

"Corona... what did you bring for lunch today?" Sterling asked with intrigue...

Corona giggled each time Sterling was embarrassed cause she thought it was cute. "Well we've got some salad, juice, and I made some daisy, Lettuce, and tomato sandwiches." Corona paused, blushing and shifting her wings before reaching into her bag again. Corona pulled out a small white box and set it down in front of Sterling. "I...um....I...I made this for you...m...mom helped me with the lunch. I...I hope you like it." Corona lifted the top of the box reveling a cake inside with white frosting covering it, what stood out the most was what was on top of the cake. On the top was both Sterling and Corona and under them was "BFF's"

Sterling looked at the humongous cake that sat before him. His eyes popped open again, marveling at the beautiful textures around the cake, but not noticing the writing that was on the cake. He was really hungry, and Sterling already began to munch through the bottom of the cake, never realizing what the top of the cake said. Nevertheless, Sterling did say this after he took his first bite,

 

"Corona... that was the most delicious cake I've ever eaten. Thanks a lot. I'm glad to have met you. You've been my best friend you know that?" Sterling then kept on munching on the cake's sides, wondering about the delicious flavours she put on it...

Corona blushed when Sterling complimented her on the taste of the cake. She'd never made anything for any other pony than Luna, this was a welcome change. Corona ate some of her sandwich before going for a slice of cake. She inwardly squee'd at how her cake had tasted. She had been quite worried that it wouldn't come out right but with her mothers guidance she managed to get the right mixture. "Hey Sterling, how about we make this our spot? Nopony seems to come out here during lunch, so it would always be a quiet getaway from everypony else."

Sterling continued to munch on the cake, mesmerized at its delicious taste. Just as he was about to continue munching however, he heard Corona asking him whether the spot on top of the hill should be their spot. Sterling nodded with excitement and agreement,

 

"Yes Corona! That would be great! This spot, all to ourselves and away from everypony else! Oh that would be wonderful!" Sterling beamed at the thought of being together alone. He never had such an experience with any other mare, and he knew... it would most certainly be a magical one.

Corona was ecstatic knowing that her and Sterling would be very close, and who knew these feelings they had might grow at some point. For now she was happy spending as much time as she could with Sterling her one and hopefully only crush. "I'm glad that you agreed to this Sterling, it really means a lot to me thank you."

 

Ruby saw Corona take Sterling outside with her and disappeared around the door. Ruby saw Shadow and motioned for him to gather the group and meet at the table. After only a few minutes about 7 ponies joined Ruby and Diamond at the table along with Shadow. "Ok everypony this is Diamond Glitter she's gonna run with us. But more than that she's going to help us get rid of Corona, and for starters we're going to get her for the first game. Shadow can have her gear go missing and then give it to that maroon stallion she's been hanging around with. Feather Dust will sew the paint and seal it with magic so it won't bust unless it's her putting it on."

Sterling smiled sheepishly when Corona expressed her thanks to him all he did for her. Sterling merely swooned at what she said, delighted that a mare finally cared for him as he got up and lied down on the meadow, hoping that this moment would last forever... too bad he didn't notice the other ponies looking at them from the distance...

Diamond Glitter listened to the plan intently. She didn't want to mess this up. This was the perfect opportunity for her to get some support for Student Senate and to remove Corona from the picture. She waved at them all, excited to get the plan up and running. 

 

"Why hello friends. Yes I'm Diamond Glitter, and I'll be delighted to get this plan off the road!" She spoke with determination.

Ruby watched as her friend Satin Thread nodded at the plan to seal the paint away in the Wingball gear. The rest of the group looked at Diamond, some with suspicion and some with acceptance. Shadow was especially excited about this plan and wanted to stick it to Corona more than anything. "I'm going to enjoy showing that over confident filly who's in charge around here." Ruby was getting more and more excited about taking down Corona, motioning everypony closer into the table with her wings. "Alright everypony you know what's going to happen. We'll be able to move this plan into action in the middle of next week the day before the first game. Everypony got it?" Ruby looked at the table with a grin seeing Satin nod, as well as Shadow.

 

The bell rang for the end of lunch and Ruby got up and flew down the halls heading to her next class only to be stopped yet again by Star. "Ruby I know you're up to something. I've been keeping an eye on you today and you wouldn't call your group together unless it was important. I demand you tell me what you're planning." Ruby grinned at the feeble attempt to threaten her and to think she had the audacity to accuse her of doing something bad. She was right but she wasn't going to admit to it at all. "You don't scare me Star, and you never will. Besides who would believe you anyway, this is me we're talking about here. I can get away with anything and you know it."

Diamond Glitter was among the ponies in the group huddle for Ruby's plan against Corona. She loved how organized their whole group was and her deep connections with so many ponies within the high school. She wanted to have that many connections, and she felt... it started here. It would be her first step to political success: gaining support. She agreed excitedly at the plans Ruby had against Corona. That was another step for her: finding people who shared the same goals... and taking down common enemies. She liked that a lot. She couldn't wait to get this plan started...

Erlen and Pink Heart were finishing up their lunches, and they opted to walk outside, away from all the other ponies. Pink Heart didn't have much else to do, and she used this as an opportunity to look for Sterling. Nevertheless, she was becoming interested with what Erlen had to say... she listened to everything he was talking about when it came to chemistry. Although she didn't understand it, she found Erlen really smart for starters, and as unpopular as Sterling was. Before she could continue listening, she suddenly hid behind one of the columns that provided the borders for the garden. It was the mare she feared... Ruby. Erlen hid with Pink, but wasn't sure why she hid herself like that...

Ruby grinned as she walked past Star, watching as she saw Star lower her head before walking away. Ruby wasn't about to be threatened by Star Shine and plus she had no real way of doing anything to her and she knew it. Star walked down the hall after the confrontation with Ruby and was headed to her locker grabbing her things to head to her next class so she could continue teaching with Mrs. Cake. Star had to find out what was going on and what Ruby was up to, whatever she was planning it spelled something bad for some poor pony in the school. I need to figure out what Ruby's up to, I just hope by the time I find out it wont be to late.

Erlen looked at Pink weirdly and asked her,

 

"Pink... What... what are we doing?"

"Quiet Erlen... it's Ruby and her gang..." Pink Heart replied as quietly as she could.

"What's so scary about them?" Erlen asked with confusion.

"Well they're the most powerful bunch in Hoofstomp High that's what! They're also the meanest bunch, doing anything to get what they want, even if it hurts everyone else!" Pink replied with tension but remained quiet, wondering what they were up to... 

 

Both ponies remained behind the column to listen to their conversation, but they couldn't hear much at all... other than a pony's name they never heard of. All Pink Heart could do was shake her head.

 

"Well... whoever "Corona" is, I feel really sorry for her..." Pink Heart spoke glumly, saddened that Ruby had already picked another target...

Ruby stopped when she caught a glimpse of two ponies hiding behind some pillars and she turned and glared at them. Could they have heard the conversation that me and Ruby were having? I will deffinately have to keep an eye on them, I wouldn't want them to become a problem in the future. Ruby walked over to the two ponies stopping just in front of Pink Heart. "If you have something to say to me instead of just watching from behind a pillar I'd say it." Ruby waited for a moment before swiping at Pink with her wing missing her intentionally letting the wind blow into her face.

Pink Heart gasped when Ruby came over and flicked her wing at her. She jumped back when she did that, and she hated it. With that though, Pink was certain that she was up to no good after that. Erlen looked at Pink Heart, wondering what that was all about... Pink Heart didn't say anything, fazed at Ruby's wing swipe at her.
