Steel had watched grell work -better stay on his good side- steel thought -maybe now ember will think twice before trying to start something with me - steel sighed

Sapphire walked over and sat next to grell "You seem really nice" She smiled

Chilly bones closed his wings and looked at grell "see that's what we should be doing, teamwork" he spoke before walking over to the fire rested much as he could, he had a plan but it might make the group hate him. But he didn't care. It was something that felt right to him.

steel sighed And walked over to embers "look I'm sorry I let my anger get the best of me" steel said

Embers smiled at grell "Glad it would look bad" He then turned his gaze to steel "Eh, Same here" Embers said that, but he still felt hatetrid to steel

 

Sapphire looked at the pony lieing on the ground "Next time, Duck to the side faster, It should help you" She sighed

grell smiled "I think you'll be fine but I'll have to keep an eye on you " grell said checking embers vitals again

Sapphire Yawned, Thinking about how it was now night forever "So, what shall we do now?" She sat back, looking at embers

grell sighed sterilizing his needle and the metal he was tired but wanted to stay up

Wanderlust was becoming used to the forest in it'd ashen state, he found bits of life returning to the world even if it was only the scavengers and decomposers that was a step in the right direction. Mushrooms seemed to be sprouting everywhere, he picked the ones he could find with any special properties and tossed the puffballs of glowing mushrooms from his bag here and there.

 

"This place could be really beautiful once you move past what happened. Even when the world ends a new one beings. Hmmm", he was used to taking to himself as he traveled. It was so peaceful here, away from the constant presence of others, he thought for a moment about not going back, simply wandering away. The world had changed but he hadn't, staying put still made his head hurt and left him uncomfortable and besides he thought of how the world had been altered by the firestorm all the place he had seen before would be different now. He could only imagine the deserts of Saddle Arabia now turned to glass and the stars and moon shown brilliantly off it's surface. He longed for it now, needed to see it.

 

But no, he would miss and worry about the others they still needed him, but one day once things were better he would go, he promised himself. Deep in thought he hummed as he walk a lonely sad tune but to him it was a way of remembering the past. He reached the cave quicker than he expected and went inside down to the underground lake now illuminated by hundreds of glowing mushrooms. He climbed into the water giving himself a real bath and then simply floating in the water. It wasn't long before he heard noises though the sound of conversation and arguing, "see I told you! Here the mushrooms glow now!" The voice was rough and grating.

 

"This makes searching for gems much easier!"

"Stupid we search for food now! Gems are just extra! Food remember foooood."

"We could trying the mushrooms?"

"No! No, they are light not food we can't have both."

 

Diamond Dogs, wanderlust was sure of it, and of course they would be fine their whole species lived underground and... 'Oh sweet Celestia's sun lit flank! Their would be thousands of them left all across Equestria and with the shortage of food they would spread everywhere looking for anything slightly edible and given their intelligence I edible too! I have to go now! Aren't above enslaving ponies and soon eating them as well!'

 

As quietly as he could Wanderlust slipped out of the water and slunk toward I the exit. But at the mouth to the tunnel out was the last thing he wanted to see, the flying cinnamon squirrel from earlier. It began to chitter at him, 'NOPE. No noise! Must run.' He simply picked up the vermin and stuffed it into his saddlebag taking off at a gallop to escape. In a flash he was in the forest heading for camp, he had to warn the group about this threat, caves were now very much off limits.

 

"What was that?"

"What? What was what?"

"I heard a noise from over there."

Snuffing noises, "mmmmm I smell cinnamon rolls."

"I want cinnamon rolls!"

"Shut up! Can you follow the scent?"

"Of course I can."

Star Struck is laying on the ground looking at the fire and thinks to herself"i hope it stops soon or something like that,i think maybe i should of stayed there and die then i would of been with Lighting Blade and we could of lived happy were ever ponys go to die."

Sapphire looked at star "Hey, whats your name? My name is sapphire, you look sad..." Sapphire sighed as she thought back to before the firestorms

 

Embers closed his eyes, thinking about how thease other ponys cared for him, there wasnt anybuddy else who had helped him like this

Steel flew up and grabbed a cloud he lowered it and laid on it hoping to be left alone he didn't think anypony would bother him he looked down at the group -always the outsider - steel thought sadly

Grell laid down "embers let me know if you need something" grell said as he went to sleep

"M..my name is Star Struck, i have been like this for a long time because i lost somepony close to my heart and were going good until the damn firestorm happened,it ruin everything for those who made it through it so yeah". Star looks up and just sees Steel from the fire

Sapphire looked at starstruck "Yep, i know, almost all of us lost someone close to us. But you just have to keep going, If they saved you, it was because they loved you enough to get you through. You just have to move on, forget the past"

Wanderlust had gotten better at moving through the ash and avoiding the roots and holes that it covered, he didn't trip once even though he ran as fast as he could. Though despite this ash still floated up and stuck to his wet fur, 'so much for being clean again,' thought briefly flashed in his mind. It wasn't long before the campfire was in sight again, he open his mouth to yell but ash kick up from his stride filled his mouth filling it with a terrible taste and choking him with how it clung to his throat.

 

He burst into the campsite completely out of breath, "angh nah Un! Tah beah da unned ogs in te unnels!" He tried to explain quickly as the words stuck in his mouth full of ash and out of breath. Panting he felt himself retch dryly as he tried to pull in more air.

Steel waved as he Watched the group a somber look on his face the fire light hitting his eyes made him look somewhat evil but also stunning his eyes scanned the group glancing at star occasionally

Grell fell asleep quickly snoring lightly dreaming of his past steel looked at him "I didn't catch that " steel said

Embers looked at steel "Yo, come down, we might need some help." Embers sighed "Your still fine, so get down here!"

Grell woke up and groaned "cant a pony get some sleep around here " grell yawned he was really tired and just wanted to sleep

Wanderlust sat gasping for a few seconds, trying to spit some ash out of his mouth. After a few moment he managed, "I said, 'everyone. There are Diamond dogs in the tunnels.' I went to the cave where I hid during the firestorm and they were in there a little deeper than where I was. They're searching for food, and their whole species lives underground so we need to stay away from tunnels. Who knows how many are still alive! Some of you lived around here; how big was the local pack?"

"Well why don't we just find a new place to move, like canterlot. It's better, less caves. And probably a whole bunch if supplies and food in the wreckage" said chilly getting up from his spot. This would give him a chance to set things in motion, plus things would go smoother. Without the hate of the group.
