Best Username Ever 211 January 24, 2014 Share January 24, 2014 Now it may be cheesy but my biggest dream of all is to be able to fly and with things like wingsuits now and technology advancing as fast as it is i am wondering when there will be anything that allows humans flight if so how long do you think it would take until technology has advanced far enough to allow such an amazing thing. And also has anyone here ever gone parachuting because as you could probably guess throwing myself out of a plane is probably the closest i could get to flying and i would like to know what it feels like i might do it on my 18th if i can afford it. Skylar 1,641 January 24, 2014 Share January 24, 2014 In your lifetime I would say for sure, though at the moment I don't think human propulsion is that great atm, though there are certainly prototype jetpacks etc Kind of strange considering how advanced jets / helicopters are , you think they would be able to do human flight easily x3 Character Backstory: http://mlpforums.com/blog/1210/entry-7077-a-life-without-limits/ You are stardust that’s beaten the odds and combined perfectly. Best Username Ever 211 January 24, 2014 Author Share January 24, 2014 (edited) Why not just become an airline pilot and you can knockout all three? I thought of something like that briefly but it just wouldn't be the same i want to feel the wind in my hair and it to just be me and my jetpack (or whatever flying device). Another thing is i don't think i'd have time for friends if my job was an airline pilot their hours can get rough. Unikitty 1,212 January 24, 2014 Share January 24, 2014 Most likely, actually. In what form the 'flying' is, however, is up to speculation.Firstly, there's the method of flight that many people do quite often: sitting passenger in a large aircraft. Some even take this to the next level, by becoming a pilot - free to grace the clouds' waves. This is the primary form of flight, and one that we have come to acknowledge as indifferent to any other mode of transport. Then you have things that imitate flight, in the form of gliding. Technology such as wing-suits, hang gliders, and good old skydiving can all be considered methods of flight. Not to forget, we already have trains that travel via the flight form Levitation by using magnets. Moving on, we have virtual flight(one I find to be most interesting). I can pop open Minecraft right now, double tap Spacebar, and be instantly floating above it's cubic clouds. As video game enhancing technology advances, we end up immersing ourselves further into games, and getting one step closer to feeling as though we are literally part of it. With the Oculus Rift, I remove the visual barrier, allowing me to look to either side and see those clouds drift past my vision.Whilst this is not a literal act of flying, it certainly is helping patch the gap. As technology improves, so will the virtual immersion(Sword Art Online, anyone?).Back to reality, recently, two of Mars' early 21st century machines(one rover, one satellite) made an interesting discovery. Yet more materials that further support the idea that the planet may have held a sustainable environment - and one much closer to the present date than previously thought. The Space Race is still raging, even if it is between different competitors(although I like to think that it is less a race against each other, and more a conjoint effort to get the best lap time). The age of interplanetary travel is among us, and with it our dreams of flying further than ever imagined are coming to fruition. Provided we don't botch things up before then(which is quite unlikely, no matter what the doomsayers claim), it shouldn't be long before we leave the dusty outback, hop into our passenger seats once more, and fly off to visit our grand-folk back here on Earth.I doubt you will have to wait very long before you can fly. Best Username Ever 211 January 24, 2014 Author Share January 24, 2014 That's another thing i enjoy swimming a fair bit (although i ain't that good at it) due to it being like flying in a sense (given the pool is deep enough). And i also wouldn't mind being an Astronaut. MADE BY LUNIA THE SUPER AWSOME SIG MAKER
