Pony Hats

These hats are fantastic! I love that they're so understated, like you can have a really cute pony hat without some big gaudy yarn mane flopping about or something.

I don't have any requests, but i do have a suggestion. If you want to sell more hats and whatever else you make (and since you're bumping this thread i take it you do), you should really consider making an etsy account for your wares. I'm very familiar with the site, and can assure you that it's very user-friendly. Not only would you get more exposure, you would get sales from people who are uncomfortable or unwilling to do commissions from a site that isn't specifically designed for sales.

Just something for you to mull over :)

I've had the hats on etsy for two months now.  No luck so far, but I've sold tow on ebay.

That's an awesome start. If you don't mind though, i do have a few tips for improvement ;)

First of all, every different item should have it's own listing. I know that costs a bit more, and takes more time and effort, but shops with more items look more like serious businesses to buyers, which in turn means that the products seem higher quality. This also allows you to better showcase what you have available and plays into peoples' laziness by giving them less to click on.

Second, the item descriptions should be longer. When my mother opened her shop, she was told to "make the item tell a story". You could talk more about the details of the item, the knitwork, even give a character bio, and don't be afraid of flowery language ;)

Lastly, if you have any friends on etsy see if you can get them to promote your items in treasuries, if you have not already done so. Make treasuries yourself too, because it never hurts to get on the good side of fellow sellers.

Best of luck dear, and i will totally be visiting your shop again :)

I'd love to be able to put this much work into my shop, but I don't have the funds every month.  I figured the option bar for different characters was enough, along for the option for custom orders.

I've been working on better descriptions.  I just haven't had time lately.

I don't have friends on etsy either.  :(

I understand all of that. I would say just do what you can, when you can :3

I'm sorry you don't know anyone on etsy, but now you kind of know me, and i'm kind of on etsy. Next time i'm helping my mother with her shop, i'll throw a treasury together and include your hats :D

Also, i apologize if this is overly forward of me, but i actually do writing projects for people on the forum, as a means of sharpening my skills. I'm out of commission now since my computer's temporarily busted but item descriptions count as writing ;)

That's fine.  I appreciate the helpful advice.
