Daniel Ingram lyrical quirks...

This somewhat bothers me, but perhaps I'm the only one, has anyone noticed how much Daniel Ingram uses "for"? Like in place of Because...

Example:

"For their is only one great party pony, that is Pinkie Pie"

"For I am Pinkie the bestest party pony around"

There's plenty others, almost in every song, and it bothers me, I have no idea why...Anyone else?

Technically speaking, that is not an incorrect use of 'for'. 'Because' has two syllables, and 'for' has one. My guess is he is trying to:

1. Quickly pump out new songs under stressful, fast-paced conditions.

2. Keep the pentameter relatively sane with simple words.

Catchy all the same tho and thats probably one of the most important aspects of songs in MLP

This may sound controversial, but I really don't think Ingram is even that good with lyrics. He's written some great songs, but even his best stuff has really only succeeded for its flow and tempo. In terms of lyrics, at best, all he can really do is narrate what's happening on screen effectively, and in a catchy manner. At worst, his songs spout endless, repetitive cliches, and flow atrociously.

Amoral cynic with a bitchin' vocabulary.

Check out A Century of Song if you like music from before this millennium.

Never said it wasn't correct, just that it's overused. In many cases "for" or "Because" isn't need at all to keep the sign flowing right.
