Singe 2,111 February 10, 2014 Share February 10, 2014 (edited) One entire episode of FIM dedicated to the Mane 6 involved with introducing "you" to Ponyville and the episode is shown mostly in a first person perspective of "you." The character is a female pony from a new town, the Mane 6 was asked to welcome her to town. This pony doesn't talk and uses non-verbal language to communicate. A contest is used to have fans vote on making her an Earth Pony, Pegasus, or Unicorn. Show includes visiting several sites in Ponyville. Bucking apples. Pinkie Pie party. Spa. Rarity trying clothes on you. Random Discord appearance where he talks to the viewers directly. Edited February 10, 2014 by Singe
Scootalove 10,692 February 10, 2014 Share February 10, 2014 I think I would want to see an episode like that, sounds something like the cliche welcome but I'll still take it. Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
True Rarity 1,240 February 11, 2014 Share February 11, 2014 That sounds pretty interesting, but a little cliche. I wouldn't mind the Discord, Rarity, or Pinkie Pie parts especially. But it kind of sounds like Dora the Explorer, when they address the user and wait for about five seconds, pretend they hear a response, and then keep the conversation going. Or it could be more like a silent protagonist in a game. The "You" character is never given a reason to speak, so they don't. The idea does work better in games though...either because dialogue isn't that important overall (Zelda) the character is kind of a blank slate for the player (Half-Life) or they went with dialogue options and a quiet protagonist rather than a silent one (Persona).
