"I bet it's nice not to have to work there as constantly as ponies used to," Gale said thoughtfully as they made their round on the outskirts of Cloudsdale. "I wonder if your parents still live there. I know mine do - I just got a letter from them this week...do yours ever write to you?" she asked, then suddenly hoped with all her might that his parents weren't dead. That could have been so rude! she thought as she anxiously waited for him to reply.

"Oh my parents worked there, but...I never knew my father. Searched all around for him, couldn't find him. My mother more my twin brother and I right at the same time. She had to quit her job as a worker at the weather factory." Thunder stated. "My mother moved to Baltimare, since things weren't going so well." Thunder added.

"Wow! That's pretty bad for two little colts to go through that at such a young age," Gale sympathized. "Does your mother still live in Baltimare?"

(nothing left to type...filler filler la la fleh. I think Thunder is a cool OC! Whoa, you have 5,000+ active posts!!!! That's insane!))

@,

"She does. But I don't think she'll remember me sadly, since it has been a long while. I tried going to visit there once, but...somepony said that I wasn't allowed to go...don't know why, probably some stupid jerk who thinks he's all that and rules the place." Thunder stated. "I'll try again sometime, hope that pony got fired." Thunder added.

  • 4 weeks later...

((I must have started this a million times but had to stop in the middle every time XD! Sorry I keep forgetting ^^;))

"Wow, that's not cool!" Gale said sympathetically. "I agree - I hope he got a good yelling treatment from his superior, if there was one!" She glanced down at the landscape below them. "Making the rounds doesn't take as long as you'd think it would!" she remarked.

"Hopefully. He should've been fired a long time ago." Thunder stated as he started to descend slowly toward Canterlot. "Just someday I hope I could see my mother again. She will be totally shocked at how much I've grown and my abilities.". Thunder stated as he landed on the ground.

"Oh, I hope you can! I can't imagine not having seen your mother in years..." Gale sighed. "At least you'll definitely have something to talk about!" She glanced at him to see if he would smile.

((oh dur, once again I have nothing more to say. That's a bit annoying. Filler.))

@,

"Oh, totally." Thunder stated. "So...wanna come to my house?" Thunder asked as he spread his wings to stretch them out. They blew lightly in the gentle breeze. Thunder still had the thought of his mother in his mind, and hoped that he would be able to see her very soon.

Gale blinked. "Oh! Sure, I've always wondered what the house of a pegasus like you would look like!" she replied. Featherwing is gonna be so jealous! she thought, and then suddenly had to fight down a wave of glee. She hoped her expression didn't change as she pushed the wave down.

@,

(OOC: So sorry about forgetting that you replied.)

"Well...ready to go?" Thunder asked as he sprang into the air and took to the skies. He stayed hovering, waiting for Gale to come up with him. Somehow, he could read her mind as well. "Who's Featherwing?" Thunder asked curiously as he continued to wait for Gale.

((That's totally all right! XD I've done it any number of times already :P))

"Oh. She's my older sister," Gale explained as she flew up beside him. "Also a pegasus. She's off on a trip right now with my dad - an earth pony - in Hoofington, which is where our grandma lives. She's also an earth pony."

"Hoofington...I've actually never been to that city. Is it nice?" Thunder asked as he flew slowly up toward his house. "But wait, if your dad's an Earth pony then...did they take the train to Hoofington?" Thunder asked as he continued to fly. He then veered to the right towards a small rainbow fall.

Gale smiled at the sight of the beautiful fall as they passed. "Yes, it's very nice, if a bit quaint. I visited it once a few years ago...And they did take the train, which Feather luckily doesn't mind." She paused. "Oh! Is that your house?" Another wave of joy nearly made her wings falter; she felt herself dip and hastily righted herself.

"Yep, that's mine, right by the rainbow fall." Thunder stated as he landed on his doorstep and waited for Gale. "Do you go to Hoofington a lot?" Thunder asked as he opened the door and waited for Gale to land by his side. He still had the thought of his mother in his mind.

"Not as much as I used to when I was younger," Gale admitted. "Feather has a lot more free time than I do, to be honest...I'm still looking for the right job and such. I've tried a bunch of different things, but none of them really seem to suit me enough where I can actually do them good..." She suddenly realized she was on a subject Thunder probably didn't want to hear about. "Whoops, I'm sorry to go on a little there," she backtracked awkwardly. "But yeah, I haven't been to Hoofington in a couple years. My grandma understands, though."

"Oh...you can work with me as a storm wrangler at the weather factory. There are plenty of spots there. Besides, we always need more storm wranglers to tussle up pesky loose storms." Thunder stated. He continued to wait for Gale to enter his house before he would follow.

"Really??" Gale asked, hardly able to believe it. She was being offered a job - finally, one she would like! - by this handsome stallion, and she would get to work beside him, and she was about to enter his house!! She smiled gratefully, feeling happier than she had in a while as she walked past him through the doorway, making eye contact briefly with Thunder to say with feeling, "Thank you so much!"

"You're welcome. Orientation is tomorrow. I'll show you the ropes." Thunder stated as he came in to his house and sat down on the couch. He then put his laptop on the table, and then went to the kitchen. "Want anything to drink? I've got water, apple cider, fruit juice and fizzy drink too." Thunder stated.

"Fruit juice would be fine," Gale said as she seated herself at the table. She glanced around, trying to take in the most detail she could and store it away in her brain to remember later. She knew Feather would want to hear as much once she was home. "And thank you again for offering me the job! Tomorrow seems suddenly brighter. Storm wrangling seems like an interesting occupation!"

"Yeah...it's a little difficult...but you'll get it." Thunder stated as he poured some fruit juice in a cup and hoofed it over to Gale. He then came to the table with his laptop. "I usually keep track of the factory's income with this laptop. I also use it to surf the internet." Thunder stated.

((Hoofed! :D I love it when people take that aspect of ponification into account :D))

Gale took a long sip of the fruit juice, and found it very much to her liking. "I personally wouldn't enjoy keeping track of income...too many table cells and my eyes go crazy," she chuckled. "...Is it easy typing with hooves? I know the unicorns can manage easily, but not having a laptop myself, I've always wondered."

((You're straying a bit, Gale...))

"For me, it is, since I have electric abilities. I just let my currents create smaller points so that they I can type easily. "But yeah, since I'm a storm wrangler, I've got to. Make sure that we get paid right and the bits help keep the Equestrian Stock Market balanced. Don't want it to go down." Thunder stated.

"Ooh, yeah...if the market went down, that'd be bad." Gale smiled.

"Those abilities come in handy in so many ways, don't they? And I suppose that's how unicorns type, too, just in a slightly different way. Your abilities are basically akin to unicorn magic; the difference is that you don't have a horn and that yours is actual electricity. Does it help with storm wrangling, too?"

"Yep...you got it." Thunder stated. He then opened his pictures folder and looked through his pictures of him and his brother Electra Blitz. He then gathered some electricity and made a small bottle of apple juice appear fromt he blue. He then started to take sips of it while looking at his pictures.

I wonder how I'll do at storm wrangling, Gale thought. It doesn't seem like the easiest job in the world; after all, Thunder uses his electricity to aid him...I just hope I get it fairly quickly; I don't want to slow him down. She looked up and saw Thunder gazing at his laptop.

"Er...sorry if I'm intruding, but what are you looking at?" Gale asked curiously. She took another drink of her fruit juice and waited for him to answer.
