Gale let out a soft, happy sigh. It had truly been one of the best days she had ever had. She gazed sleepily at Thunder's face for a while, studying his handsome features as he slept. Then she smiled, closed her eyes, and slowly went to sleep feeling safer than she ever had next to her special somepony.

 

((Seems like forever since this day started...now it's finally ending XD! Wonder what tomorrow will be like for the new pair. ))

The next morning came. Thunder could see the rays of the sun coming through his eyes. He woke up and gave Gale a loving lick to wake her up. "Time to wake up. It's morning time." Thunder stated.

Gale opened her eyes. "Good morning Thunder," she murmured happily, nuzzling him. "I daresay that was the best night I've ever had!" She slowly sat up, stretching. "I don't think I moved around as much, either," she remarked, suddenly realizing that she had woken up in mostly the same position she had fallen asleep in.

"Yeah...it was a good night's rest...so...what do you want to do today?" Thunder asked as he got out of bed and stretched his wings and rest of his body. He then looked out the window and saw Ponyville and Canterlot from afar.

"Well..." Gale began. She didn't know at first what she wanted to do, but then her stomach growled and she laughed. "I guess eat breakfast first, haha! Then maybe we could go for a fly before heading to the weather factory."

"Yep, let's head down to the cafe before we start work." Thunder stated as he went to go brush his teeth. He then came back out. "Are you ready?" Thunder asked as he went downstairs and to the front door. There, he waited for Gale to come downstairs.

Gale joined Thunder at the door. "I'm ready," she replied, smiling at him. She still could hardly believe that she was going to spend most of the day with the stallion she loved. Feather and Mom and Lila will be so happy! she thought.

Thunder opened the door and spread his wings out. he then took to the skies and flew down to Ponyville doing loops and corkscrews on the way down. He soon landed on the ground and started to walk slowly towards the cafe.

Gale followed Thunder, landing expertly and walking towards the cafe. She looked around at all the ponies seated outside. "Do you want to sit inside or outside?" she asked Thunder. "It doesn't matter to me, either spot is good," she added, looking at him and smiling.

"Let's take a seat outside." Thunder stated as he went and found a seat that was close to the walkway, where ponies and foals walked around. Some foals could be seen giggling and playing tag. Thunder smiled at this. He then turned back to Gale. "So...what do you usually get for breakfast?" Thunder asked.

Gale watched the foals for a moment, briefly wishing Lila could be with them, running around and playing like she should have been. At Thunder's question, she focused her attention back on the task at hand - filling her empty stomach.

 

"Just a daisy sandwich," she said with a shrug. "Not much, but I like it. What do you get?"

"Oh? That's different. I usually get pancakes with sausage and hashbrowns." Thunder stated as he looked at the menu. Soon, a waiter walked up to them. "Ah, what would two like today?" The waiter asked. "You can go first." Thunder said to Gale as he continued to look.

"I'll have a daisy sandwich, please, and just water for the drink," Gale told the waiter. She watched as he wrote it down; then her eyes strayed over Thunder, lingering for a moment and then drifting again. She found herself watching the happy foals at play again, if just for lack of anything to do.

"Okay, and you sir?" The waiter asked. "I'll take a pancake platter with sausage, hashbrowns and apple juice please." Thunder stated as he turned from the waiter and looked at Gale. He knew that if he ate this much, his belly would become all round and somewhat plump and soft.

Gale wondered how Thunder could eat that much in the morning. The most she'd ever eaten was a huge plate of eggs and toast back when Feather was learning to cook, and she hadn't been able to finish half of it. She had always been a light morning eater.

She saw him looking at her and smiled at him as the waiter trotted into the restaurant to get their order started. "Someone won't be hungry later!" she laughed.

"Maybe..." Thunder stated as he continued to wait for the food. "So...any more family stories you'd like to share?" Thunder asked as he continued to wait. In his peripheral vision, he could see a couple of mares chatting with each other, while their foals ran about.

"Well..." Gale thought for a moment. "One time my mom was painting her first ever picture for this art contest. She left it to go make herself lunch, and then Feather walked in on lunch break, took one look at the painting and said 'Gale, what is that? It looks like a really weird caterpillar.' Mom was coming back into the living room then, and when Feather realized it was Mom's painting her face went so red!" She laughed.

"Oh jeez." Thunder stated. "Well...I've got a funny story. So...I had gotten a hold of this scary wormlike costume, that is able to make this crazy screeching sound when you extend your arms out. So...Blitz was hanging out with Twilight and Cadence. I snuck up on the three and scared them so hard, that their screams could be heard on the west side of Ponyville!" Thunder said giggling.

"Haha! That's hilarious!" Gale laughed. "That reminds me of one time when I was a filly, and my dad saw me asleep on the floor one evening - he told me all this later. He saw me asleep, and he knew that I was easily awakened by touch, so he went and put on this mask that Feather and I had bought him as a gag gift that Father's Day. He came and laid down beside me, then poked me, and I woke up to see that mask and started screaming!" She chuckled. "It was actually really funny!"

"Jeez, that must've scared you a lot!" Thunder stated. Suddenly, a waiter came out with their food. "Well...looks like it's time for us to get to eating." Thunder stated. "Oh, and our shift doesn't start until noon. We're only on for 3 hours today. It's not that bad of a day since it's sunny." Thunder stated.

"It did at the time," Gale agreed. She licked her lips as the daisy sandwich was placed in front of her. Her eyes were deterred for a moment gazing at the rather large amount of food on Thunder's plate; then she took a bite of her sandwich. "Noon sounds good!" she remarked in between bites. "I wonder what we'll do for the rest of the day."

"Well, we have the rest of the day off...we could maybe fly around for a bit." Thunder stated as he started to cut his pancakes and then started to eat. "I sure hope these pancakes won't get in the way of work...well...at least I have some time after this before work..." Thunder thought to himself.

Gale took another few bites of her sandwich. "That sounds nice! There isn't much else to do anyway," she added thoughtfully. "I hope you're not eating too much," she said, watching him eat. "I guess since we have some time before work, it doesn't really matter how much you eat." She hoped that hadn't come out rude.

"Eh, you know how it is. Can't go storm wrangling on a full belly so..." Thunder stated. He continued to eat his pancakes and other food. He then looked down at his belly. It was a little rounder than before. Thunder didn't blush. He looked back up and continued to eat.

Gale noticed Thunder glance at his stomach, and mentally giggled, dropping her own head to hide her smile. I hope he doesn't get a stomachache, she thought to herself as she took the last few bites of her daisy sandwich. She drank the last of her water and, now officially full, leaned back in her chair, watching Thunder continue to eat.
