open War on PACE: The Begining

Lydia nods, "They don't seem violent. I landed right in the middle of their town square, and they pulled me out just to make sure I was ok... I don't know why we're at war with them..." she laughs, "Sure it looks impressive, but take away the electricity and it's just a hunk of metal... Or better, overload the motor and you basically have a bomb."

Ben snickered. "Well, that would make for a nice prank, wouldn't it?" He took a pack of gum out of his pocket, and started to chew. He offered Lydia a piece. "Want some? It's strawberry-banana, the best flavor! And it makes your teeth white. I think there's some Hydrogen Peroxide in this stuff..."

"You know, why haven't we thought of that? I mean, we have spaceships, mechs, robots, and yet, no water-free showers! Being electro kinetic must be a BIT odd, but still!" Ben shook his head. "You know, you smell fine nonetheless. I take plenty of showers, and I still smell pretty bad. What is JT doing in there...?"

Lydia shrugs, "Last I checked he was being paranoid as hell, but that was a few minutes ago. Don't worry, you don't smell that bad. I'd rather smell a bit than wind up destroying basically anything electronic near me whenever I get mad, that really sucks when it happens."

Ben sunk his phone deep into his pocket. "Uh... yeah... I guess you would rather smell than that, huh? Well, let's just try not to get you angry. I have some pretty expensive equipment in here, and if it gets destroyed, PACE isn't paying for it, you know?" Ben said. "Like, thousands of dollars."

Ben sunk his phone deep into his pocket. "Uh... yeah... I guess you would rather smell than that, huh? Well, let's just try not to get you angry. I have some pretty expensive equipment in here, and if it gets destroyed, PACE isn't paying for it, you know?" Ben said. "Like, thousands of dollars."

Lydia laughs, "Don't worry, I'll try not to fry your gear. It was kinda hard to transition from being one of the most technically adept people in PACE to basically being doom to anything with a circuit board in it, but I do still have a few tricks up my sleeve... Want to see something cool?" She asks with a smirk

JT looks at overlord... "I know.... Just it feels different this time.... Like these guys didn't even ask for it or something." He walks out of the tent, "sorry about that Ben, Lydia are you doing alright.... Your beacon went off and I thought you were dead" he said. "I'm sorry if you don't want a rescue... We just wanted the group all safe."

"Ummm... sure..." Ben said, putting his bag in an empty storage locker. He stepped back a few steps from Lydia, crouching down and covering his face. "Umm... okay, I'm ready... but please, don't aim for the face, it's too beautiful for any of that!" Ben chucked a bit, and then nodded. "Okay, go ahead."

Lydia laughs and closes her eyes, "Don't worry, I'm not going to shoot lightning at you or anything like that..." After a few seconds, Ben's phone begins to ring and flash, obviously malfunctioning, "The encryption on your phone left something to be desired, I could have broken it in my sleep."

Jt nods "alright I understand". He then looks around "can I talk to you in private in a few minutes.... And Ben.... If you can trust him with some stuff..." He says quietly as if making sure no one else could hear him talk.

But what did you do to it?" Ben asked. He then turned to JT. "Hi Commander. I'm Benjamin Shapiro, a rank 8 researcher. I'm assigned to you squad. If you didn't know, researching ranks go from one to 10, starting at 1, and going to 10. Anyways, I heard about what happened back there. I mean, I know you were worried about her, but you might have wanted to check before you send a giant, monstrous killing machine to get her..."

Ben followed JT and Lydia inside the tent. The tent was full of weapons, gear, and all that kind of stuff.

 

He sat down on a chair. "So, JT..." He whispered. "What would you like to talk about?" He pulled out his phone and turned it off. "To make sure that I don't get murdered, by Ms. Shockwave here." Ben smiled as he pointed to Lydia.

"Of course I can be trusted! And she could always- WAIT WHAT? You can stop my heart?!?" Ben frowned. "You're not going to kill me, right? We're friends, RIGHT?" He panicked for a bit and then calmed down. "Right, right, secrets. You can tell me, I won't say a thing to anyone."

Lydia nods, "Yup, one touch and you'd be spasming on the floor as you slowly die. Or I could just put enough current through your brain to make your head explode.But we're friends, so I'm not going to do that unless you give me a good reason."

Jt nods and says, "my tent, now" he quickly leads them to his tent and begins his search for any type of wires or cameras.

Lydia nods and walks into the tent. After she lets JT search for a while there are two small explosions in the corners of the tent, "No cameras or microphones now. What do you want to talk about?"

Jt sighs an says "we just carpet bombed a city full of candy colored gigapeaceful ponies that did absolutely nothing to us. I am fine with sending a few squads in to make sure we get control.... But to drop bombs on them was.... Murder" he says.... "I don't like the generals desicion on this guys.... And I'm not sure about why we're here...."

"You know, I don't know why we're here either. I mean, I was told it was for research, but then I got put in this squad, and now? We're going to be deployed to some city where we have to battle with ponies. I don't want to fight them. I want to research their world and help them, as well as us, thrive here." Ben whispered.

JT smiled "good I'm not the only one having issues with this.... We need to keep a low profile about it, if Hawthorne gets breath of this we will all Be dead.... Understand?" He says, "I don't know what we're going to do, but if it comes to it, I think I can overthrow him if I need to"

And if we fail, we'll surely be killed! I mean... is it even necessary? Is there another way to stop this?" Ben asked.

JT sighs and says "time to go rally some prisoners... I'll talk with you guys soon."

"Overthrow him? How? From the looks of it, it's only us 3! Hawthorne is incredibly powerful, and all we have are a scientist, a commander, and a living outlet. How are we going to do that? And if we fail, we'll surely be killed! I mean... is it even necessary? Is there another way to stop this?" Ben asked.

Lydia shrugs, "Well, we could always help the ponies repel the invasion, and then just live here. I know they're peaceful now, but if we can get them to fight back we have a good chance of winning. Other than that I really doubt there's any other way to stop a general like Hawthorne."

Ben laughed.
