SkyHeart 102 February 24, 2014 Share February 24, 2014 I love Princess Luna, I think she is so cool. But I don't quite understand something. Why is she older as Nightmare Moon? deadprofile 1,123 February 24, 2014 Share February 24, 2014 The style her body is portrayed in (as well as her voice) does not indicate that she is portrayed as older, since it is never mentioned/talked about/ alluded to in the show itself (in other words, this is a fanon theory). The comics are canon to the show, and there is evidence in there that further points to the change in body being a alteration to accommodate the manifestation of the nightmare creatures affecting Nightmare Rarity, just as they did with Luna. This is also driven home by Luna's "de-aging" after Nightmare Moon was defeated. Her powers were diminished to the point that her body was smaller than it became/grew to by the time of Luna Eclipsed. She lost all her power being defeated, and over time, she regained the powers she had as Princess Luna before her corruption and thus, her body grew to accommodate the power she has. I can see this a similar thing towards Twilight Sparkle's ascension. She is now taller (not by much but it's noticeable enough) which shows her magical power growth from becoming an alicorn....I am sure she will continue to change/grow as she gets more powerful. Cadence is not the typical look of a normal pony, her body is similar to Luna. I deny the canonization of the children's books where there is a story regarding Cadences ascension, but it should be mentioned. She was a normal pegasus pony who became an alicorn. I am pretty sure she did not look the way she did before becoming an alicorn, but then again, it's a children's written book....and yet, the comics debunk that book as well as the show....Idk, I take the kid's book with caution.... 1 "In fire iron is born, by fire it is tamed"

deadprofile 1,123 February 24, 2014 Share February 24, 2014 No Problem. Although don't just take my word for it. What I explained is also a fanon theory, but it is more or less alluded to very heavily in the show. Scootalove 10,692 February 26, 2014 Share February 26, 2014 I think it's the way Nightmare Moon's body looks, because when Celestia sent her to the moon you could compare her body when she was in the first two episodes since her powers started to lower down when and her body was smaller at the time.
