Sapphire yawned and followerd, packing up her own tent that she had used. She smiled as she finished it up, this was her fastest take down yet. It seemed as if a few good things could come from the war

 

Embers chuckled and climbed a near by tree, looking down at them

Two of the soldiers latched themselves to the cannon and got ready to move. "Ok everypony ready" Times asked. All of the soldiers nodded, Times looked at Sapphire. Times pushed down his face guard to cover his face. He put on the ammunition saddle bag and yawned.

Sapphire walked next to times, glancing down at her book now and then with her tent on her back. She sighed and looked up at the rising sun, thinking about how it had been before the war, when she could talk to who ever when ever

 

Embers followed them, laughing as he did

The soldiers began walking and so did Times. Times was silent but the soldiers spoke to each other. Times looked around trying to see if he could see the stallion following them. Times thought he saw the stallion in the corner of his eye but when he turned his head he was gone.

Embers looked at times, dodging now and then each time times would look at him. He got ahead of the group and, looking around, jumped up onto a tree

 

Sapphire smiled as she remeberd her mom, and how silly her school years had been when she was younger. She chuckled

Times heard Sapphire chuckle and looked at her for a brief moment before looking away. Times saw a body and stopped right in front of it. Times looked down, It was a corpse of a gryphon. Times examined the gryphon and saw that it was shot right in the head. The gryphon was wearing blue clothing.

Embers looked down at the group, he had seen the gryphon fall, and had smiled. He hoped down and landed next to times, not knowing what times would do to him

 

Sapphire also stoped, she was making small talk with a nearby pony, and had not seen the gryphon

Times heard Ember land. Times pulled out his flintlock and pistol whipped Ember. "Really why did you come back" Times put his flintlock right up to his face. "I will give you a chance to leave, because I'm in a good mood." Times put his other hoof on his saber.

Embers spat blood on the ground from times pistol whipping him, he grinned at times "Oh? I thought you never let anybuddy go, so come on, do something!"

 

Sapphire turned to look at embers and tilted her head, she had no idea what times was doing, nor why there was a dead gryphon

Times looked at him with fiery in his eyes. "Like I said... I'm in a good mood." Times pistol whipped Ember trying to knock him out cold. He put away his flintlock and looked at Ember. Times pushed up his face guard and looked back to the gryphon corpse. Times wondered who could have shot the gryphon.

Embers shrugged and jumped away from them, climbing up the nearest tree. He sighed and grabbed his gun, looking at the group with it. He smiled and looked down at times "Hard head, eh times?"

 

Sapphire looked at the gryphon and back to times "Sir, do we know how this happend?" She asked him

Times looked at her. "No" Times then looked back to Ember "... How did you know my name?" Times pulled out his other flintlocks and aimed them at Ember. "... also just so you know I'm not going to kill you... I would be a waste of ammo and gunpowder." Times said with a smirk.

Embers laughed at him "I know your name because you say it so much, its really hard to miss it" He grinned and started to jump away, away from times with his ammo

 

Sapphire sighed and stoped, she opend her book and took a fast note. She looked back up at times, smiling at him

Times saw him jump away. "Yeah.... you better run." Times turned around and saw Sapphire smiling at him. Times smiled back at her and pushed back down his face guard. He called one of the soldiers over. "I think we should give the gryphon a proper burial." Times said to the soldier.

Sapphire looked down at the gryphon, she sighed and nodded "Yes we should" She sighed and helped him

 

Embers smiled as he darted away, he now had an idea. He went and grabbed a bird, he then ate it as he had not had anything to eat in a long time. He was ready to do what ever needed to be done

The soldier and Times got some shovels and began digging a hole. The made a 6 foot deep hole. "I wish we could give him a casket." Times said to the soldier when they lay'd the body into the hole. Times and the soldier began filling the hole.

Sapphire sat down with her book open, she sighed and looked up at times, how could times keep going, even with all the death? She sighed and got up, looking down at her book

 

Embers smiled and looked down, he looked over a branch to see times

 

(Eh, I think they would eat a bird anyways xD)

Times found a thin log and one of the soldiers handed him a knife. Times carved the letters 'R.I.P' onto it. Times stuck it into the ground and gave a miniature 20 gun salute. He pulled out his flintlock and fired it into the air. Times looked at the grave and reloaded his flintlock.

Sapphire sighed and wonderd when they were going to move on, they had to get going if they wanted to make it in the day time, although night would also work just as well. She looked up and saw a few birds flying over head. She smiled and got to her feet, then looked over at times

"Ok we need to get moving" Times said to the soldiers. Times and them continued moving and would occasionally look back at the grave but he would quickly look forward. He looked at Sapphire and gave a small smile under his helmet. It must be hard for her, from what he heard.

Sapphire yawned and followed them, looking around at the trees. She smiled and looked up at times, then higher to the sun. She then saw a few butterflys and she laughed, followed by her opening her book and wrighting in it

 

Embers chuckled as he followed the group

Times heard her laugh and looked forward. Times saw a butterfly land on his helmet. Before the war he would have done one of 2 things; Screamed or stared at it. Times stopped and tried to shake it off but the butterfly just flew up and landed right on top of his helmet. Times just continued and ignored it.

Sapphire smiled and looked at times, but her face droped "Times, even though there is a war going on, you can still have some fun" She sighed and looked down, she gritted her teeth, she had to do something, something that would make times see that having fun is OK even after the war

Times looked at her but didn't say anything. He looked forward again and thought to himself, If only that was true... If only that was true. Times continued walking. Times looked to her again and pushed up his face guard. "the old me would have agreed with you but... I'm not the old me anymore" Times said looking forward

Sapphire sighed and looked at the ground, then back up to times "Times, it is true, nomatter what this what has changed OUTSIDE of you, you will always have a want for fun, you can never change that, no war will blot out that little erge, the erge to be a filly" She looked over at him
