How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: long story, details in post.

I've been on these forums for a while but i never really used them, i'm trying to use them a little more now.

 

So my name is Austin, but i go by AJ because my name means king. I am no king. I was born in 1995 in a small town called St. Louis, MO and i have been living there since. I am black, but just in skin color. Everything else about me does not fit in the skin color at all and i tend to stay away from my default race due to my views and personality.

 

I am incredibly shy by nature so just writing this topic itself is nerve racking because i'm deciding how much to give away about myself.

 

So anyway, ponies are not the center of my universe but they are one of the walls. I like history (not crazy about black history so), preferably WWII. I am a fan of classical music and i've always wanted to learn how to write and compose music (trying to not do the computer music creation but writing music note by note is much harder than it looks), I love trains, specifically the much older steam locomotives. They're big, and incredibly beautiful.

 

I have Aspergers, ADD, and Depression so most times my mood swings can be pretty violent at times...

 

I look at my failures more than my success because my failures have basically carved outt who i am, and my success' haven't.

 

SO: the moment you've all been waiting for: the pony story.

 

So before i got into ponies i kept on hearing more and more and more about them based on postings by friends. MY friends kept on trying to get me into this show and it got annoying and i thought "why would anyone waste their time watching My Little Pony?" and i hated the thought of it. Life really sucked at the time too so i wasn't really in the mood for anything to give me joy and happiness as they were "advertising." Finally they told me to watch just one episode and they'd leave me alone. I agreed, and my first episode of MLP was putting your hoof down. That episode started the ball roll where i watched the season 1 opener, season 2 opener, a couple of episodes here and there, and then lo and behold, i was a brony. At first i hated my friends because of that but then i just learned to embrace it.

 

So yea, here i am.  I'm still having problems with my depression and i think it's going to be a part of my life forever, but i just try to get through each and every day with or without friends. So yea, thats me...

I also see you hold interest in writing classical music. That's awesome! If you ever had ANY questions on that (or ANYthing else), do not hestitate to ask me, because I've been playing piano for almost 13 years now, and I have experience in harmony, counterpoint, music forms etc.

It's always nice to see somepony convert from being an anti-brony, to being an AWESOME brony! It's awesome that you embraced the show!
