Mywas 687 March 2, 2014 Share March 2, 2014 One popular theory about Sombra is that since he was just a unicorn his 1000 years banishment somehow ruined his mind and gave him an animal like mind which is the reason he was behaving like a bear in TCE. Do you think this theory could be accurate? Credits to Mint Drop for an awesome Sig.

Mywas 687 March 2, 2014 Author Share March 2, 2014 ...Like a bear? o_o How was he bear-like? The sounds that he made were very animal-like. Not to mention the fact that he was about to eat Spike. Do you think a sane person would try to eat a baby dragon? 1 Credits to Mint Drop for an awesome Sig.
Moonlight 7,291 March 2, 2014 Share March 2, 2014 (edited) I really wouldn't be surprised if it was. Being banished and isolated for all those years are bound to have a negative impact on your mind or just cause you to go crazy. He more than likely lost his sanity and just went on his instincts, doing whatever necessary to get what he wanted, his kingdom and the crystal heart. Jammo 986 March 2, 2014 Share March 2, 2014 I think all dictators have an animalistic desire to dominate all. I think his monster approach was a front to terrorize his people. A lot of oppressive leaders try to be seen as a God or Devil figure, not human because the more human they behave, the more the people will see their flaws of humanity. I think Sombra wants to be seen as a presence, not a president.

I don't know about that so much. He planned a lot of good traps ahead of time, hiding the Heart, the door of Evil Dreams, the staircase, the alarm in the tower room. If he'd already lost his mind, that doesn't fit with his apparently meticulous planning. Happy minion of The Fabulous One! If it's one thing that I've learned from cartoons, it's that being an insane asshole in no way hinders one's ability to hatch evil schemes and traps. Onwards to my DeviantArt page! That's why I said "I don't know so much about that" rather than just saying "you're wrong." My point is that it is a long sequence of planned counter measures, which doesn't gel with foaming-at-the-mouth insanity. It's up to interpretation. This is mine. Personally, I don't think he was insane even AFTER he unthawed. Actually, I delved into this at length in my blog at one point: http://mlpforums.com/blog/1083/entry-7149-sombra-is-best-villain-a-bookend-diaries-supplemental/ I think there's more to Sombra than he gets credit for. I give Sombra plenty of credit and find him quite underrated myself. When I say "lost his mind", I mean less along the lines of someone who's lost the ability to perform higher brain function and more along the lines of a character so needlessly evil that he placed his slaves' key to salvation and only hope upon a spire within full sight of everyone to see for no other reason other than to mock them. You don't need to be insane or have "lost your mind" for that. "Villain mocks his victims by putting what they need to free themselves from his tyranny just out of their reach" is pretty much Chapter 2 of the Evil Villain handbook.
