((As a heads-up, Fluffy Unicorn, that was a prime example of godmodding- playing someone else's character without permission. You are able to get away with it to a lesser degree because you're the GM, but keep an eye out for it next time.))

 

"Well, that would be nice information to know in advance." the Jester muttered. "If you will wait momentarily, my lady, I will gather my squadmates and we will accompany you."

 

He quickly trotted to halfway through the stairs before calling to White and Shadow Seer, who trotted up the stairs quickly. "We are leaving, then? Where to, madam?" said Shadow Seer, pity in her eyes.

"We will get out the way I came in. We have to go down to the bottom of the castle, toward the courtyard." Dex said, answering Shadow seer's question. "Move calmly so they won't suspect you. They don't know I'm here so I will take a different way. I'll meet you there."

 

Dex then left the room and quietly snuck back the way he came. Once e reaced the courtyard, he saw that the earlier distraction was still working for him; no guards were around.

"These guys aren't very bright, are they?" he asked himself. he found the grate under the steps and waited there for the others.

 

Celestia thought about Shadow Seer's question and answered 'We head east, to Unicornia, I am are their kin, Before I came to rule Equestria, I hailed from there.' Even as she said those words, however, Celestia knew better. Even though the inhabitants of Unicornia were ponies, they had very little in common with Equestria. A strong belief in democracy meant that Unicornians hated Celestia, in fact, Celestia thought, that's the reason why I had to leave over a millennium ago. She was part of a faction demanding that the queen of Unicornia be given more powers, and she left before she could be arrested.

 

As they made their way towards the meeting place Celestia's thoughts turned to Dax. Could they really trust him, why would a human help an Equestrian? She decided that he would have to be watched carefully. Suddenly Spike said ' all this sneaking around, I don't like it'

Shadow Seer looked at Celestia somewhat oddly at her suggestion that she returned to her homeland, but she remained silent and followed along, speaking only when shushing the baby dragon that followed. "We don't exactly have a choice, especially in our position." They continued along, reaching the courtyard before quietly reaching the grate. The sighed. "I'll watch our backs. Head on in, everyone."

Dex saw the others arrive, "Good, you're here. Let's go." He said as he opened the grate and hopped in with the others in tow. He lead them through the sewer system along the walkway. He had long since memorized the pathways due to previous jobs. As he approached their destination, he stopped and turned around toward the others.

 

"Now seeing as I got you out of there, I have a question for you." He said, "If I was a power hungry maniac in Canterlot Castle, where would I hide my most valuable asset?" he asked referring to Nightmare Twilight and the Elements of Harmony.

As the group made their way out, the Jester stopped and looked at Dex with an inquisitive look. "If you are after the elements, perhaps I will be able to summon you to Celatum prior to our reclamation of Canterlot. You may find yourself with a reward of sorts." He winked, before moving to join the others. 

 

Shadow Seer- with White Rose- approached Celestia silently and bowed before speaking. "Milady, if it is not too much effort, might I suggest that we reclaim the Celatum before we continue with our venture into Unicornia? It will allow me to minister to my disciples, and we specialize in the removal of the darkness. Besides, we may or may not need a place of respite. We might not be received the best over there, and the portals created by the ancient cathedral may come in handy in case we need to leave promptly. If it is not possible, I will drop the matter, but I have left my disciples alone for a long time, and I do not favor the thought of leaving over half of them to the hands of the Nightmare."

As Celestia finished talking with Spike there was a loud knock on the door.

'I'll get it,' Spike said ' who is it?'

'Your escort to to Parliament,' came the reply.

'Should I open the door?' Spike asked.

'Of course,' Celestia replied.

A short while later Spike showed the visitor into the guest quarters.

'Hello Princess,' the visitor said 'my name is Dex, and I have come to warn you , you must not go to the Houses of Parliament,'

'Why not?' Celestia asked

' Because your Highness, there are fifty soldiers with rifles and bayonets who are there to arrest you. Come with me Celestia, and you will be safe!'

As Gearhart and Fluttershy approached the castle he noticed a lack of guards at the front door, he looked back, so did Flutters. "I sugjest you don't cause any funny buisness, There are guards here and if they see murder of any kind they won't only torcher you, but they'll keep you alive until you're on you death bed." Gearhart looked back, Flutters had no smirk anymore. When they got inside there was a significant lack of guards as well, not to mention 1, Celstia outside of her room and 2, A mysterious stalion leading her outside. "I'm sorry but where are you going?"

If they were captured, Twilight wins. If Twilight wins, he doesn't get paid. "You can lay low there and then move to Unicornia" Dex then started walking away, back to his lair. "Follow if you want."

Celestia then turned to Shadow Seer, the Jester and White Rose and said ' I am coming with you, but I am going to be straight with you, you have yet to earn my trust. Why are you helping me?'

This is Shadow Seer- an abbess of a monastery dedicated to honing one's mind through meditation and magic- and this is..."

"Allow me. I am Agririon, an aspect of Death bound to this mask. I also work with this... group, having sworn to many millenia ago by our founder. Recently, the being you had known as Death had guided me to you through the death of the alicorn royal known as Luna, charging me with your protection and vengeance against the darkness that had claimed her- the mystical parasite that had lain dominion over her earlier had its revenge through six ponies, all pure of heart, yet one was corrupted through pride and the five others followed her. While I might not serve you directly, I have been placed under your command through the wishes of The Ultimate Void himself- and I intend to follow that." He bowed deeply, his scythe reversed away from Celestia.

 

And since he's a goofball when he's not directly following orders from his patron, we call him a jester- the Jester of Death. Or Cannonback, since he packs a crystal cannon on his back., commented a snarky voice that appeared in everyone nearby's head.

 

White Rose scowled again. "And that is Ixkom, a chaos spirit bound to me when I was younger. Who refuses to stay silent when we are discussing details with honorable people and embarrassing us."

Dex took notice of this new pony and the one behind him, she looked familiar but couldn't place it so he just brushed it off. Soon he reached the city line. "My place is a couple hour's walking distance from here, in the forest. Keep up." He started running, making his way back home.

Spike tried his very best to keep up with Dax, but within a few minutes lost him.

'Great' he sighed. 'What now?' He said to Celestia that he would keep an eye on Dax, so I'll just have to search for him, he thought. But then suddenly he remembered something, just before he left he saw a stranger and somepony he recognized. ' Fluttershy' he said aloud, 'how is that possible?'

At the words Fluttershy, Agririon snapped his head up, his death mask locking onto the pony with the aforementioned name. "Fluttershy? That was one of the names...." He stood up and walked over to the female pony immediately before spinning the blade of his scythe so that it was under her throat. "I will give you one chance to explain your actions to me concerning Equestria in general and the death of the Princess Luna, or you might just find yourself with that pretty little head of yours disconnected from your neck."

 

With this sudden movement from the Jester, White found herself surging forward to pull him back, yet to find herself blocked by a hoof and a head shake from Shadow Seer.

Gearhart heard them questioning Flutters, "You stop that imminently, she's with me! If you're not ok with that, I've wing cuffed her so she can't get off this island without me! Besides, I've stripped her of weapons, she can't do any harm or can leave. So I suggest you back off."

Dex saw that he lost the group and turned around. "Damn, I forgot how fast I am. Better slow down for 'em." As he made hid way back, he saw one of the 3 with Agririon holding a scythe to the pony who looked familiar, and Gearheart trying to stop him. 

 

"Fluttershy? why is that name so...oh right." Dex then walked up to them. "Calm down both of you. Let's interrogate her when we aren't running from guards."

When Gearheart left herin there possesion, she knew it would be her chance to capture Celestia.

He glared at Fluttershy, before glaring at Dex and Gearheart with stares that could kill a small animal, before flipping his scythe around back into a repose stance. "I wish to deal justice to this... thing myself. I will accompany you, Gearheart and Dex while my friends take the princess to safety. If all goes well, I shall be back at the Celatum later. With this creature's head."

 

Shadow Seer shook her head lightly before closing her eyes, walking off a distance, and starting to pace, horn glowing white and eyes weeping energy as she began to open a portal to the ancient cathedral...
