First Pony Doodles

Well, I did it, my very first pony artwork. Sorry about the quality of the picture, and the lines.

As the title says, they are more of doodles than drawings and it is on lined paper, which is where pretty much where I do all my drawing.

I started with just Twilight, but I was so proud of how she turned out that I decided to do RD. I wasn't as satisfied with how she came out as I was with Twilight, but then I just decided to do all of the "Mane 6".

I did use references for some of it, like RD, Pinkie, and Rarity's mane and tail(It took a lot of work to get RD's hair the right amount of messy ).

Here is what I would say about my doodles.

 

Twilight: Looks like S1 Twilight with wings

Rainbow Dash: Has been erased and redone way too many times. Wings look fake. Tail still doesn't look right.

Fluttershy: Actually, I don't see a lot wrong with her, but there's got to be something.

Pinkie Pie: Looks too creepy. Neck is misaligned.

Rarity: Way too elongated in the neck and body. Back right hoof is just not right.

Applejack: I just don't know where to start, literally. Like, something is most certainly wrong, but I have no idea what.

 

Well if anypony has any critiques to add, feel free to. I want to be a musician anyway.

I think these look pretty good for a first-ever attempt at ponies!

 

Though if it's criticism you want, well, your self-criticisms ring true (though aren't we all our own worst critics? XD). And pondering Applejack, hmm... It looks like she only has two legs, lol. Even if the legs are aligned similarly, you should still be able to see at least some of the far legs there. And Flutters, only thing I can say is that her mane and tail have a tad more of a curl at the end, but that's borderline nitpicking.

 

All in all, a really decent first attempt at drawing ponies. You should have seen mine, oh God...

Considering these are doodles and first attempts, I'd have to say they're not bad. It's good that you're identifying points you don't like, it will make it easier to correct them in the future. If you have a strong interest in learning to draw ponies, I would recommend finding a guide and studying proportions and basic forms. If drawing is secondary to you (assuming you have no history with drawing in general), it may take a while to improve, just don't let it get to you. Good work, and best of luck.

Thank you. I do have some experience drawing, but anything I do will probably be purely for fun.

Much better than my first attempt it looked like... I don't know what to call it. Witch is weird cause I draw improved ponies now much improved.
