Any rules about requesting pictures threads?

Just wondering. Maybe it's something people don't want to see a lot of threads on, but maybe it's ok.

(I ask because I have a ponysona I'd like to see drawn too, anyway)

All you've got to do is give a detailed description of your pony, stating things such as:

  • Age and Gender: Whether your OC is a Filly (Young female), Colt (Young Male), Stallion (Adult male) or Mare (Adult Female).
  • Species: Earth pony, Unicorn, Pegasus or Alicorn. I suppose if you come up with another one, give a description of that.
  • Mane and Tail Style: Just give an example of what your ponies hair and tail should look like.
  • Color: The color of your ponies fur, their eyes, and of course the Mane and tail as well.
  • Cutie Mark: Of course this one is just optional, but if you know your special talent, be sure to add one! ;)
  • Pose: Want your pony Flying, jumping, lying down, or just standing there looking all cute and cuddly? Make sure you add that as well, but if it's just the first drawing of your OC, keep it relatively simple.
That's pretty much all you need to start a topic, just post it up in Art Discussion, and and make sure to include these details. Also, it would be a good idea to use General Zoi's Pony Creator, make an accurate representation of your pony, then download the pic and post it to your art request thread. This way artists will have a visual aid, rather than creating the pony entirely from scratch ;)

Also, last but not least, you posted this thread in Art discussion, but any question about the forums, how and where to post and such, belongs here in the Feedback & Tech Support subforum. Keep that in mind when posting in the Future ;)

A decent amount of them are posted (a few a week usually), but very few are actually done due to the time and effort it takes to create one. Completing one request can take hours, and honestly, most people art up to dedicating that much of their life to completing these requests multiple times a week. The times they are done though, they're done for free, unlike on DeviantART and other sites, where you have to pay in some sort of fashion to get a decent commission.
