Charcoal smiled and looked over at Gavin to make sure he was still there. "Sorry for the delay. But we can continue going... wherever it is we are going. And it looks like we are bringing a guest if that is okay." Charcoal said a bit hopeful that Stone would be able to come.

Gavin shrugged. "I don't mind. It's all up to you." Gavin replied. "We'll have to eventually get to Zexis Del Tor' one way or another."

Gavin kept trotting down the path towards Zexis Del Tor' as they all walked it was quiet.

@@Paladin Butters, @@Charcoal Embers,

Stonewall examined the one whom Charcoal had spoken to, though it would appear that he was looking elsewhere. From now on, every pony or creature he met could be a threat to him. That had already been true before, but now it was reinforced into Stonewall's mind with a sense of urgency. There were few things in life that had preoccupied his mind, but now it was all he could do to not simply curl up into a ball of nerves on the spot. Having sized up Gavin enough, he turned his attention towards Charcoal Embers again. Though she emanated a slight air of nervousness, Stonewall was of the opinion that inside her (somewhere) was a will of steel. He'd have to be careful to be let inside of her trust before the world made her reinforce her mind against it. Even as he thought of her mind, his own was slowly changing. Though he did not know it, accepting his long gone ancestor's charge had begun to affect him not only mentally, but soon physically and magically as well.

(I.E. He did not start out with his 'Divine Right' ability. It will develop and mature over time, as will he.)

Charcoal grinned happily and nodded. She could almost feel her heart jumping for joy that Stone could come. She turned back to Stone and motioned for him to come. "Come on, let's go." Charcoal said before following Gavin down the road. She hoped that she didn't make Stone too uncomfortable.

@@Charcoal Embers, @@Paladin Butters,

As they trotted along, Stonewall did his best to not make his observation apparent. The last thing he needed right now was for a potential valuable ally to get spooked by being stared. What's more, he suspected that Gavin would not shy away from fighting him should he look suspicious. Thus most of the time they were moving, his eyes appeared to range around to various eye attracting objects such as shops or roadside oddities. Eventually he turned his head and leaned in to whisper to Charcoal, though he kept a modestly respectful distance away. "Though it was touched on earlier," he said softly. "Oasises of peace such of this are not even remotely common... I wonder what trials these ponys' predessecors had to face to carve out a place for themselves."

@@Charcoal Embers,

Stonewall was, by pure habit, always on the tips of his hooves. You needed to be with the amount of danger there was on the roads in recent ages. Anything could try to rob or kill you at any time. Once a tree had tried to mug him. (Though technically it'd be an ent he supposed.) Thus while not exactly ready when Charcoal fell into him, he held up rather well with only the slightest pause. One forehoof extended around her back and caught her while his opposing legs braced. His eyes swiveled around to the offending pony, a glare seething in his expression. Abruptly the pony paused, blinked, and turned around. Coming back to them she apologized profusely, all while a faint and befuddled expression crossed her face. Setting Charcoal back upright, he smiled softly.

*Time lapse for David*

David made his way up to the port. Hearing about krakyns had drawn him to the city like a colt to a candy store. He'd only seen one before in all his travels, and that one had been trying to destroy his ship and possibly kill him. He inquired around until he found the place where the dead krakyn was being kept. Approaching the nearest sailor, he asks "Excuse me sir, I've heard rumors you were going krakyn hunting. Is this true?" A familiar voice in the back of his head says "What, do you have a death wish?" 'Welcome back Poe' David thinks to himself with a smile.

When Charcoal fell into Stone she was about to apologize to him, but when she felt his hoof around her she blushed and froze up. She didn't even say anything when the pony came back to apologize to her for bumping into her. When Stone had set her back up and smiled at her she blushed even more and looked at the ground to hopefully hide her blush. "U... U... Um... t-thanks..." Charcoal managed to stumble out.

"It's no trouble at all," he said to her soothingly. "Any pony who says they're a stallion ought to do nothing less." As their walk through the town continued, he sighed and gave a small smile to himself. It seemed that he'd made a good impression on Charcoal. That impression was something that he fully intended to foster and direct into something much more grand. It didn't occur to him that romantic notions could be an unintended consequence. At the moment his mind was more consumed with making the foundations for a grand and powerful scheme. For when one aspired to be nothing less than King, any and every detail became important. Far too many would be Emperors had been toppled by seemingly trivial matters that grew into unstoppable threats. A little absent mindedly, he spoke to Charcoal again. "All I meant in talking about trials was that there is little in this world that can be gained without some manner of work or effort. I'm curious to know what the ponies that founded this Port had to do."

Charcoal looked at Stone in confusion. What the heck is he talking about? Is he talking to himself, or was that an actual question to me? Charcoal thought to herself as they continued walking along. She decided to take things a step further and walked a little bit closer to Stone as they waled. "Well... um... I couldn't really say how they did it. But you know, maybe it wasn't a lot of work. They say that if you love your job you never have to work a day in your life. Maybe that is true about the ponies here. I know it is true for me. I love my work more than anything."

"They do certainly seem happy with what they're doing." He turned his head to look at the side of the street past Charcoal, meaning his head swept over hers by only a couple of centi-meters. "I don't suppose you'd mind telling me what your work is? I can see your Mark, but I'd love to hear it told by you."

"A construction worker?" He asked with a blink. "Huh... I suppose you're right about there not being a lot of work in that field as things stand." Sub-conciously he remembered his own Mark and what it represented. He'd never really thought about it for long, having always been focused on moving. Now he wondered if perhaps it had been a premonition, a foreshadowing of what he would become. Yet he couldn't shake off the feeling that the Baleful eye on his flank could only ever represent something bad. Turning his attention back to her, he raised an eyebrow. "Blacksmithing... "So, so it be that we strike in a few days, any pony gets in your way kill them." Vincent finished.
