Arylett Charnoa 4,919 March 13, 2012 Share March 13, 2012 This is the reason why I despise time travel in fiction. I can tolerate it, but it is far too confusing to actually contemplate and makes not a lick of damn sense in reality. I think it goes under a certain trope from TVTropes that I will quote: It's just a show. You should really just relax. In other words, don't look too much into things. The cycle started itself. It's like that whole "What came first; the chicken or the egg?" When it comes to time travel, just accept whatever the heck just happened or you'll make your brain turn into mush just trying to think about it. You really will. Aether Velvet is the name of the OC in my avatar. Drawn by me. Deviantart

Senor Citizen 516 March 13, 2012 Share March 13, 2012 I'ma go clean up my skull now. This is the reason why I despise time travel in fiction. I think it goes under a certain trope from TVTropes that I will quote: In other words, don't look too much into things. The cycle started itself. When it comes to time travel, just accept whatever the heck just happened or you'll make your brain turn into mush just trying to think about it. You really will. The egg came first. A proto-chicken laid a proto-chicken egg, which hatched into a mutant proto-chicken, which was a real chicken. Logic. Every time. Daring Do 195 March 13, 2012 Share March 13, 2012 Hmm... Where did the loop start? Did it ever start? Will it end? With ponyception, you will never know... I guess that just goes to show that Time Travel isn't supposed to make sense. Great adventuring for great treasures!....Except when I'm hurt... cuteycindyhoney 13,308 March 14, 2012 Share March 14, 2012 Actually Back to the Future follows a different theory than the one shown in the last episode, because when Marty when back in the past, he created a new timeline. He still knew everything he knew from his own timeline, and introduced it into the past of this other timeline, but it still was the original timeline's Chuck Berry who wrote the song at first, although in the second timeline it was first played by a mysterious dude nobody knew, that's why when he went back to the future, everything was changed. However, in MLP, it used a typical time loop theory, wich means that if say I were to travel back in time now, that technically already has happened, and what I do in the past will not possibly change the timeline, as it has already been done before, that's why when Twilight went back to the future, everything was still the same as when she left. And yeah, it doesn't make sense at all, because Twilight wouldn't have gone back in time if future Twilight wouldn't have gone back in time and so on. The loop doesn't start anywhere I still think Marty should have "made out" with his mom. That would be just as cool as a Twilight Future Twilight shipping! Thank you Sparklefan1234!!! Sne 36 April 26, 2012 Share April 26, 2012 Sorry that I'm posting in an old topic, but I'm a little backwards with episodes. Actually, a stable time loop (which is in the episode) is maybe the only non-paradoxical one. Let's assume a time line, then it's disruption by Princess Celestia, which creates the endless cycle - you notice causality is fine, as Twilight can't change the past, just make the future repeat itself. The disruption itself could be a problem to explain, but we can say Celestia just used one of the time spells in the past, future or totally outside the time (i.e. outside the cycle, therefore the cycle is not without an actual cause). I presume it's her fault. Why she would be on Tuesday morning in that exact spot? Why would she cast a spell like that? Well, maybe to teach Twi a lesson. Or troll her By the way, stable time loops are presumed to be spontaneously created in real life in a very small scale.
cuteycindyhoney 13,308 April 26, 2012 Share April 26, 2012 What part of "wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff" don't you understand? "It goes ding when there's stuff." That's all you need to know! Coincidentally, I just watched "Blink" today! That's one of my all time favorite episodes. I got "The Complete David Tennant Years" box set back on my birthday in Feb. I just started watching it recently. Thank you Sparklefan1234!!!
