Ariel was again quiet along the way to Fluttershy's cottage. But when they arrived and the gentle pegasus mare gave her Snakie, the filly seemed to cheer up at least a little, smiling at the little snake. Once set down on the floor with Snakie, she lied down with him, gently nuzzling the snake and booping his nose.

Snakie lightly pecked Ariel on the muzzle, booping her back. Fluttershy then began. "Well...when I was a little filly, I was a very weak flyer, which caused me to be bullied and teased...a lot. When the time came to refill the rain-holder, I struggled, for us pegasai had to make a giant tornado at a certain power..." Fluttershy stated. "That's right. And we needed all of the windpower, which is why everu pegasus had to go through a test." Rainbow stated. "I had the lowest score and was teased yet again. Even after I trained hard I still couldn't get it...but Rainbow needed me...she's my friends and as her friend, I could not let her down." Fluttershy explained.

Ariel smiled at Snakie, but turned her attention towards Fluttershy once she began to speak. At the mention of being a weak flyer, the filly opened one of her own little wings and glanced at it. The small appendage covered in soft downy feathers hardly seemed strong enough for her to fly very well herself... she wondered if she would someday grow into being a stronger flyer, or if her wings would stay weak?

 

Her train of thought changed soon after that as she continued listening to Fluttershy's story. She found herself relating to the mare; though of course, instead of having to face bullying, it was the constant criticism of her former parents that had left its mark. She kept listening intently, becoming quite interested in the story.

"Well...after one failed attempt, Rainbow called me in. I still had my past in my mind, the bullying, the teasing, everything." Fluttershy stated. "But...they all needed me. As I was getting tired, the voices came back. But in an instant...I shunned them all away and contributed the last bit of power that was needed." Fluttershy said with a smile. "See Ariel, looking at how far you come, makes a great difference." Rainbow stated. Snakie let out a soft hiss.

The story's ending was inspiring and disheartening all at once to young Ariel. Inspiring in that it encouraged her, knowing that someone somewhat like herself was able to overcome obstacles similar to the ones she now faced; but disheartening in that she felt as if she didn't have the strength to be able to do the same.

 

She didn't know what to say. Again, she was left unable to find the words to describe these conflicting emotions; the only indication was the uncertain expression on her face.

"Don't worry Ariel. Everypony has the strength to overcome our past." Fluttershy stated. Suddenly, a white rabbit hopped to Fluttershy's side. "Oh, Angel Bunny! I almost forgot it's your dinnertime. Well...I gotta go feed all the animals." Fluttershy stated. Snakie stayed wrapped around Ariel and gave her a light squeeze with a loving light hiss.

Ariel giggled quietly at Snakie, giving the snake a loving nuzzle before she looked up at Fluttershy. "Th-Thank you, Miss Fluttershy," the filly said softly, smiling somewhat. At the least, she would honor Fluttershy's own courage and strength in overcoming the past, and remember the story, keep it in mind for when she struggled with her own past.

"Well...back home we go." Rainbow stated as she took to the skies and headed back to the house. She arrived back in 3 minutes to the smell of dinner. Cadence still had her lunch belly. Thunder was on his laptop searching PonyTube for the top vids of the week.

(OOC: So sorry for not posting lately... These exams are going to be the death of me...)

 

Ariel happily stayed cuddled up with Snakie along the way home. Then, once back inside, the filly hopped down from Rainbow's back, fluttering her wings to slow the short descent. After that, she lied down with Snakie once more, happy to have him back; and, realizing this was the first time he had really seen the inside of this house, she said with a smile, "This is your new home, Snakie."

Snakie slithered off of Ariel and looked around. He slowly slithered through the furniture before returning to Ariel. He gently wrapped himself around her and let out a soft loving hiss. Meanwhile Thunder was still searching on PonyTube fore videos.

Ariel sat, watching the snake with a smile as he slithered about, looking around his new home. Then she nuzzled the little reptile once he returned to her, before playfully trying to imitate his hissing. After a few moments, she looked up towards Thunder, flicking her ears curiously. "Whatcha doing, Daddy?"

"Oh I'm just looking at PonyTube." Thunder stated as he went to his profile page. One of his vids hit ten thousand views. "Oh wow! You know that one vid of Blitz and I jamming? It hit ten thousand views!" Thunder stated. "Wow! That's awesome!" Blitz said happily. Snakie nuzzled Ariel.

Her ears flicked up and her eyes widened slightly. "Ten thousand? That's a lot of ponies..." she remarked. She fluttered her wings and lifted herself up, Snakie along for the ride, hovering so that she could peek at the laptop screen herself out of curiosity.

Snakie wrapped himself a little tighter around Ariel as she lifted off the ground. Thunder then looked through the rest of his profile, until he came across an epic win video. "Oh, check this out Ariel." Thunder stated as he clicked the vid. In the vid, Thunder Dash was skateboarding through Ponyville until he noticed Granny Smith crossing right in front of him. He jumped over her and cleared her. Ponies were shocked at this. "What did you think of that Ariel?" Thunder asked.

Ariel carefully settled herself and Snakie next to Thunder as she sat and watched the video curiously. She thought it to be a normal video featuring skateboarding, until Granny Smith appeared. Her eyes widened, her wings flaring out in surprise as Thunder in the video then successfully jumped over the older pony. "Whoa!" she exclaimed, which pretty much summed up her reaction.

"You liked that didn't you?" Thunder asked. Blitz had gotten up to get some soda out of the fridge. Rainbow lay belly-up on the floor. Snakie gave Ariel a light and gentle squeeze and let out a soft, loving hiss.

Ariel looked up at him and smiled. "Yeah! That was cool, Daddy! Are there more videos like that on PonyTube?" she asked, tilting her head as she glanced back at the laptop screen. Having never really seen the site itself before, she had no idea of the countless videos available on there. She let out a soft giggle at Snakie, giving him a light nuzzle before looking to Thunder once more, awaiting an answer.

"Yeah...and there are even epic fails and wipeouts. Like this one I had a while ago." Thunder stated as he clicked on a video thumbnail. The video popped up. In the video, Thunder was skateboarding through the marketplace in Ponyville, weaving through ponies, when he lost control, flew off his board and straight into a fruit stall. After all of the dust cleared, Thunder was revealed with a look of embarrassment and fruits everywhere.

Ariel again started to watch curiously, wondering what this video would be about and what Thunder had meant by epic "fails" and "wipeouts." She noticed that it started out much like the other, with Thunder skateboarding through Ponyville. She gasped when he fell off the board, her eyes wide until the dust had settled and she saw him in the video perfectly intact, though embarrassed and surrounded by fruits. She couldn't help but let out a little giggle at the sight.

"Yeah...that's why ponies laugh when somepony fails at a certain thing. Some ponies even compile fail videos all into one. I've even see a "Try not to laugh" challenge where they show some of the funniest fails and you've gotta try not to laugh through the whole thing." Thunder stated.

Ariel tilted her head, listening to Thunder talk about all of these fail compilations and "try not to laugh" challenges. "All of that... on PonyTube?" she said, twitching her ears curiously. It baffled her to think that there could be so much - and then some, more than she knew - all on one website.

"Yep...there are tons of stuff on PonyTube." Thunder stated as he continued to look around. "Both good...and bad unfortunately. The good thing is that PonyTube has a system where you can report bad videos and the staff over at the PonyTube HQ will review it and decide whether is should be taken down." Thunder explained.

Ariel blinked, her eyes slightly wide. She had hardly known about all of the content on PonyTube, let alone that there were good and bad videos; and even a team of staff members to go through and take down the bad videos if needed! "Wow," was all she could say, finding herself a little astounded by the large scale of this website.

"Yep...that's technology for you." Thunder stated. He then looked at the clock. "Well would you look at that...it's dinnertime!" Thunder said as he closed his laptop and it went into sleep mode. He then went to the kitchen and got some pasta and salad ready. Cadence still had her lunch belly. "You can lay on my belly if you want Ariel." Cadence offered, patting her soft belly. Celestia looked with a smile.

Ariel at first poked the laptop curious, almost as if that would 'wake' it from its sleep mode, still so curious about technology and such. Then she looked over at Cadence, perking up slightly as she then spread her wings and fluttered on over to the pink princess. She landed gently on Cadence's belly, her tail swishing happily.
