The snake rested next to Ariel and snuggled her lightly letting out a peaceful hiss. It gave a loving poke with it's tongue on Ariel's cheek. "Awww." Celestia said with a giggle. "That snake must really like you." Thunder said when he heard Celestia cooing.

Ariel gave a little smile, now knowing that this snake really was a nice one. Were all snakes this friendly, or had this one just taken a liking to her? She still tensed slightly when she felt its tongue poking her, but she soon relaxed again, bearing in mind that this snake had no intentions of harming her. She then gave the snake a gentle nuzzle, if only to see what it would do in response.

The snake went in and "nuzzled" Ariel back. "That was cute!" Celestia said with a giggle. Rainbow giggled at this display of affection. Thunder could see Zecora's hut nearing. "Look, there it is." Thunder stated as he continued to walk slowly towards the hut.

Ariel let out a small giggle, smiling at the snake. At the least, the reptilian creature had most certainly taken her mind off of the frightening surroundings that was the Everfree as well as the reason they were there to begin with: her illness, and the hope that this Zecora, whoever she was, would be able to help her feel better.

"Awww!" Thunder said. "That snake has really took a liking to you Ariel." Celestia stated. Once the snake saw they were nearing Zecora's hut, it slithered off Ariel and went into some bushes awaiting them to come back. Thunder knocked on the door. A zebra opened it. "Ah Thunder, it is great to see you again." Zecora said. "Great to see you too Zecora. Unfortunately, my daughter Ariel has come down with some sickness." Thunder stated. "Oh? I didn't know you were a father." Zecora stated. "Well, I am." Thunder stated. "Ah, well then...I have a special gummi I give to little foals who come down sicknesses such as the cold." Zecora stated reaching for a jar of gummis.

"Bye-bye, Snakie," Ariel said, waving goodbye to the snake when it slithered off. Then, she looked up at Zecora with wide eyes, having never seen a zebra before. The shamaness had a distinctly exotic air about her, undoubtedly, but Ariel couldn't put her hoof on what exactly it was that gave off that impression. She blinked, staring at the zebra with a mixture of curiosity and wariness.

"I guess your little filly has never seen a pony of my type. Well little filly, I am not exactly a pony. I am what they call a zebra, a species of pony but from a faraway land. In fact, there is an island where my species resides." Zecora explained, handing Ariel a healing gummy.

Ariel nodded, noting the name of the species that Zecora was. A zebra... And they were from a faraway land? The concept was a little hard for her to grasp, but she did her best to understand all the same. When handed the healing gummy, she sniffed at it curiously for a few moments before giving it a nibble to taste it.

"Well...how does it taste?" Thunder asked. Zecora looked on. "I will give you a pack, so you won't have to keep coming back." Zecora stated, handing Thunder Dash a pack of the curative gummis. "Thanks a lot Zecora." Thunder stated. "You're very welcome." Zecora answered.

Ariel paused a few moments, trying to decide how she felt about the taste of the gummy. It had a distinctively herbal taste to it, which was only natural given the herbs that were likely used in creating it, but it also had a sweet quality to it that appealed to the filly's sweet tooth. "It's good!" she finally said, before consuming the rest of the gummy.

"Good! Does your stomach feel better?" Thunder asked as he waited for Ariel's response. Meanwhile Zecora was mixing a special brew in her cauldron. "Whatch ya brewing there Zecora?" Blitz asked. "Oh, it's a special remedy that can be placed in a bath." Zecora answered.

Ariel nodded in response, noticing that her stomach was already feeling better after a few minutes. She also realized that, now that she no longer felt sick, she instead felt hungry, very much so; after all, it had been a considerable amount of time since she had eaten anything at all. Trying to distract herself from that a moment, she looked over at Zecora and the zebra's brew curiously.

"The brew is not quite ready yet." Zecora stated. "You must be hungry now that your stomach is well again." Celestia said to Ariel. "Let's go get something to eat and then head over to the Crystal Empire." Thunder stated. "Alright then, I will see you ponies later." Zecora stated.

Ariel opened her mouth to answer, but was interrupted by her own stomach as it growled rather loudly. She let out a small giggle at that, her mood clearly improving now that she was back to better health. She was still slightly nervous about traveling all the way out to the Crystal Empire in the near future, but that was pushed to the back of her mind, her foremost thoughts being that of food as her stomach growled again.

Thunder giggled at this. He then picked up Ariel and put her on his back. "Bye Zecora." Everypony excluding Ariel said. "See you." Zecora said. When they exited the hut, the snake that was with them came back. It slithered up Thunder's leg and wrapped itself around Ariel.

Ariel waved goodbye to Zecora as they left the hut. Then she perked her ears when she heard a familiar hissing, and turned her head to see that snake from earlier. "Snakie!" she exclaimed in delighted surprise. "You came back!" She giggled and gave the snake a light nuzzle.

Rainbow giggled at this and so did Thunder. "I think he's sort of your pet now." Thunder said with a giggle. "Well...next stop...Crystal Empire." Blitz stated as they walked slowly from Zecora's hut. The snake "nuzzled" Ariel back lovingly as it stayed wrapped around Ariel.

Ariel flicked her ears at the mention of a pet. Could it be possible that she could keep this snake as a pet...? It had a clear attachment to her, and she was getting quite attached to the reptile herself. She giggled again as the snake returned her gesture of affection, smiling at the creature. If it was possible that she could keep it as a pet, she certainly wouldn't have had any complaints; in fact, she would have been quite happy to keep the snake with her.

The snake gently "hugged" Ariel by squeezing it's body around her lightly and let out a loving soft hiss. "The snake really likes you Ariel." Celestia commented with a giggle as she continued to walk. They were half way out of the Everfree Forest. It was a little past noon.

Ariel smiled and giggled yet again with the show of affection from the snake. "Well, I like Snakie, too!" she remarked. She was definitely growing more attached to this snake, enjoying its company and its attention. She briefly wondered how she would care for him as a pet; what did a snake really eat? Clearly, a snake wasn't like a puppy or a kitten, so she did wonder.

"Snakie is just a grass snake, so it eats small bugs and sometimes even grass itself." Thunder stated. They were close to the exit of the Everfree. "We're almost out of the Everfree. "Since we're going to the Crystal Empire, let's drop Snakie off by Fluttershy's place. Fluttershy is really good with animals. She's also the Element of Kindness." Thunder stated. "Well...does that sound like a good idea Ariel?" Celestia asked. Snakie gave an affectionate poke with its tongue on Ariel's cheek.

Ariel looked at Thunder, then back at the snake called Snakie once more. She folded her ears at the thought of having to leave him behind; but then again, it probably wouldn't do to bring him out all the way to the Crystal Empire with her. She didn't know about this Fluttershy character, but she trusted Thunder when he said that she was good with animals. So she nodded her head and said, "Yeah... That sounds like a good idea."

Snakie surprisingly did a little nod. They were almost out of the Everfree Forest. Snakie "nuzzled" Ariel lovingly again. "He sure does like you Ariel." Celestia commented with a giggle. "Yeah..." Thunder stated as he continued to walk. Thunder saw some squirrels scampering across a branch.

Ariel smiled at Snakie, booping his nose and giggling. Snakie then flicked his tongue at her once more, lightly flicking it against the filly's muzzle in the process. She giggled again, sticking her own tongue out to mimic the snake. She really was getting attached to the snake she called Snakie, just as Snakie seemed so attached to her already.

They soon made it out the Everfree Forest and into the outskirts of Ponyville. Ponies bowed to Celestia as the group passed. Snakie "booped" Ariel on the muzzle lightly and let out a soft friendly hiss.
