Having just finished my 4th Rarity Tat (uploading pics when I get home) I thought it would be fun to revive the MLP Tattoo thread, It is the season of Tanktops after all!

 

And just for a fun side story! I was at the grocery store this morning, and one of my co-workers happend upoun me. She is new at the office and a bit of a show off (yay you got a masters degree!! -.-), and had the company of a few of her girlfriends/sisters. I was quick to shed my winter layers this year (I am a big fan of Celestias sun!) and being in a non-proffesional eviornment for this meeting she was shocked to see all of my Ink. Considering both of my shoulders, all of my neck, and upper back are dominated by tri-diamonds, "Rarity" and a full pose of the Fashionista with her hair running down my left arm and wrapping around it to end in her Cutie mark, the gal just starred with jaw dropped. It was one of her friends who said "O-M-G are you a Brony?". It was an interesting moment, lol. It got ackward when 3 women where touching my neck in public, but hey, my artist does great work!

I'm old enough to get one, but for me it's just the needles. I REALLY do not like needles poking me. If I were going to get one it would be either Pinkie or Fluttershy on my upper arms, I usually don't wear tank tops but do roll up my sleeves if it gets hot enough so i wouldn't have to worry about showing it at work or anything.

The "needle" really isnt all that folks make it out to be. It's not like a doctors needle which stabs you, or a blade that cuts, its more like, the rub of a hairbrush on your skin.

 

May I suggest to those considering an MLP Tattoo of ANY type, do what I did. "Glory" has been my Mare for 4 generations now, being one of the first Unicorns from Gen1 and a really cool character in her own right, I wanted to bring her into my mash of 5 Rarity Tats. While yes, I DO have a full body pose of Rarity on my upper back/left shoulder blade, I do not recommend a figure shot as your first Ink. The real meat of that Tatt is her mane running down and around my left bicep and forearm to end in her Tri-diamond cutie mark that appears on the top of my left hand, which filters into the duo of her mark on either side of my neck, topped by "Rarity"'s in print over them. My point is to have a pattern involved, this entire look is duoed by the Demona pose on my right shoulder, with her hair running down my right arm and ending in a Tri-slash (the mark a gargoyles claw makes) on my right hand. So instead of just a random pony on my body, I have a "scene". Research and plan em, most Inks are pretty cheap, 50-100 bucks if you bring in a SOLID design or let the artist work free hand. Never do a full pattern at one go, do it over say six months and the expense will be less and the skin will adjust. NEVER GET A TATTOO ON YOUR STOMACH/CHEST. Your going to get old, your going to get fat, period. Stick with the neck, the back, he shoulders, and the side/front of arms. These areas do not slink out as much as you age...and are easy to show off!

I'm planning on getting Discord wrapped arround my left forearm sometime in the future. I also want a TARDIS on my right sholder with "Whovian" written in Gallifreyan behind it, but that's slightly unrelated to the topic. I might also get Twi's cutie mark on my leg or something. Maybe.
