So I just got wind that someone in Hasbro stated there will be 5 more years of MLP?

Anyone else metaphorically feeling like jumping for joy?

Metaphorical because I can't jump in real life

Anyone else feel like there may be a catch somewhere?

But seriously, I love this fandom a good bit, and I'm afraid of the day the show stops and the fandom starts to dissolve.

There's nothing saying that it's five solid years or that it will necessarily be the same show.

What's more is this is all a forecast for investors so it's more a budget thing rather than an estimation of content. While they must have some ideas up their sleeves to have such an estimation it could very easily be based on the popularity of the show and how long they expect it to stay popular at this point in time.

Note: I don't know that much about investors, business and whatnot but this sort of thing is too out there to be a real prediction of continued content.

Sounds like a fair evaluation.  :)  Honestly, so long as the series stays alive and not completely terrible, I think it should still help keep the fandom alive if nothing else.

Either way, a year or two's pause wouldn't bother me horribly, as we'd still have another season+ to look forward to and help keep the fandom alive.

But yeah, I think you have a good point that, coming from an investor, it doesn't really indicate as much as would be lovely.

While this does state there is to be 5 more years of my little pony. It does not guarantee 5 more years of FiM. And a projection like that is there mainly for investors, it gets them spending money as there is a potential for 5 more years of the currrent cash flow.
