Rank Equivalents in MLP

what sort of ranks do you think characters like Shining armor and the Wonderbolts (who are technically the Equestrian versions of the Air Force) would hold in our equivalence to our world? I read somewhere that despite being called Captain in the show, Shining Armor's rank would actually equate to General of the Army. (the very highest Army rank there is).

Shining Armor would probably be a General in the Army, while the Wonderbolts would be the Air Force.

I think Shining Armor's rank would be pretty obvious, Captain of the Royal Guard, so I imagine a pretty high place in the military, perhaps. I would say Captain, but that's already said. ^^

 

The Wonderbolts, however, would be different. I can't really figure out how to place them, maybe like high ranked police captains? Something along those lines, I would think. ^^"
