I started watching the series last year but didn't continue due to embarrassment till I found MLPlounge subreddit and talked to people and liked it over there, till I got addicted to another brony site, BAU. Hi, i'm brownie-chan. I'm known to be brownie in brony forum. Or reddit, mangolollipop. I are from Australia. I art, bake, and program stuff. I like anything creative. I've been drawing ponies as of recent. i also play video games, knit from random times, watch sci-fi, fantasy and anime, read novels and comic books and graphic novels. Interesting way to join the fandom. We find a lot of people that don't tolerate the fandom to be rather focused too much on socially acceptable norms. But you never know. People often change! The way I break the ice with people about me being a brony is that I start with the words, "Hey, there's these men who like My Little Pony:Friendship is Magic called bronies. They watch this show because they think it's good."If they have a friendly reaction, tell them that you took a peek at the show and you liked it for *insert whatever reasons here.* Tell them how great the show is but don't go too far and lose them! Good examples are like the adult humor like the spiked punch and John De Lancie as Discord, who's also Q in Star Trek:TNG (If they're a Trekkie too). If they are rude or have a hostile reaction towards it, laugh it off and drop the subject, move on. It's alright, people will have different interests. I hope that helps.
