In the cover of the eternal moon, a young mage quickly maneuvers through the destroyed buildings and rubble of the buildings that n longer stood. Avoiding sight from guards she made it to her makeshift home. Paring the curtain, she removed the hood of her cloak and sat various items on the ground. "This is our last hope. My friends, my family. I need their help." She drew a conjuration circle and place the random items on the and mustered what little magic she could muster. And with a beacon of light shot from the floor, shooting into the air as a beacon to all. In the light, the young mage could see silhouettes developin in the light as hers, and many others last hope for survival.

I was studying for an exam tommarow when suddenly some giant void popped up and pulled me in to it. My vision faded to black, for a second before a blinding light appeared, I closed my eyes when the light went away I opened them.

 

I was greeted by the sight of a furries dream come true and I only had time to say, "What the hell?" before I felt dizzy and fell unconscious.

Aaron now found himself in a strange room he did not see. Before him was a strange being with features that of equine like species. The stranger next to him passed out, but Aaron was feeling dizzy, but he was able to keep himslef concious, but not able to stay on his legs. Twilight went to see if they were alright. "Hm. Not exactly what I'd expect from the most dangerous species on existence. But, its what I have to work with." She tries to pick up the unconcious one but found him weighing an impossible amount of weight.

I wake up ten minutes later, and find myself on the floor I look up to see the same creature that I saw when I first poped in. Also with the throbbing in my back confirmed it was not a dream, much to my dissapointment.

 

With that I got up and looked around to see another human. Looking back at the creature I simply asked "Who are you and what are you?"

The young mage nodded. "I'm Twilight Sparkle. I'm a pony of what was once Equestria. And I've called you hear because I need your help." Twilight looks over to Aaron sitting in a chair, his abnormal weight was making the wood creek and strain. "Thats Aaron by the way. He was brought here the same time as you were. I called you here because you are the most dangerous species in existence. And we need your help."

I look towards Aaron and say, "Hello" Looking back towards the now named Twilight Sparkle I suppress a laugh at the thought of the move by the same name, and instead reply to her statement with my own question, "So may you please tell us what it is that you need help with?"

Twilight sighed at the question recalling the events of the last year. "A year ago, a tyrant escaped the bowels of Tartarus, seeking vengeance on my land and its inhabitants. He started siphoning magic from us, my people. Our rulers were unable to stop him. One princess has been locked away in the dungeons and her sister now sits by the tyrant called Tirek as her evil alter ego, Nightmare Moon. Eventually, Tirek went after other nations such as the Minotaurs and the Gryphons. Giving them a choice to join him or to have the same fate befall their lands as well. THen..." Aaron saw tears beginning to form in her eyes. "T-Then his armies besieged our land. IT was not enough that he took our magic but now he has us squandering in poverty and misery. My friends were seperated and spread through the nation. I managed to escape... but just barely." Twilight lifted her robe to show her legs. One was that of a hoof and was the same purple as she was, but the other was a prosthetic of sorts. A metal rod with three prodes holding her right side up.

I mentally winced at the injury and had to suppress a very pissed part of me that hated this tyrant Tirek for violating ideals I held dear to myself as an American, and for hurting the person in front of me.

 

So with no small amount of conviction I replied, "Yes I'll help you take the bastard down, in any way I can." My tone got lighter when I continued, "Although I should warn you now I am not experienced in combat. But I imagine that will change soon enough." I grimly chuckled at the thought.

 

"Anyway names Jonathan, but most call my John." I said holding out a hand.

Aaron stood up from his seat as the chair retook its form from the massive weight. "Okay, Miss Sparkle. I guess I'm in as well." Twilight began to form a soft smile on her face. "Thank you. Both of you." Her face changed immediately to one of seriousness. "First, we need my friends back. apart we cannot take down Tirek, but together we are strong. We will also need an army. We may not possess a lot of magic, but a sturdy army should suffice for a frontal assualt. We can do this by freeing prisoners, rallying scattered soldiers, and... maybe, just maybe, asking the dragons for help."

I paused to think for a moment and responded. "I imagine the Dragons do not like Tirek either but don't want to invoke his wrath without a reasonable chance of success. So they might be easier to convince after we raise an army. But now we arrive at another problem, where will you have these freed prisoners and rallied guards go? I imagine that these actions won't go unnoticed for long, even more so once he finds out there are two humans right under his nose."

"Actually, the dragons dont really care for either ponies or Tirek. They just do their own thing. But, if we convince them that Tirek will come for them eventually, then we may sway their interests." Twilight went to a coffee table and brought a map of equestria over.

"We are here in Ponyville." Twilight pointed to the small town on the map. "As you can see from the size, we cant exactly fit a militia and possibly Dragons in it." Aaron started taking note of the various land marks of the map. "SO, where do you recommend we create a base of operations?" Twilight pointed to a corner of the map. "The Badlands. A lot is unexplored and has creatures in there that not even minotaurs would dare attack. But, I hear its where dragons like to hunt and build their nests. Once we get my friends and find some troops, we can head there and convince the dragons of the urgent matter, then set up base."

I look at the map and point at the place called the Everfree forest. "What is that forest like, how big is it, and what animals reside in the forest?" I said curious. and hoping that due to its closeness to what seems like the capital city of the nation and if that is true the place he would least expect.

"The Everfree is a place filled with dark magic. Even more so now. Tirek was opposed by another race called the Changelings. After they tried to take Tirek's power, 2/3 of the race was wiped out. They fled into the everfree and something happened to make it rapidly expand. Nopony has seen them since." Aaron began to think of a plan. "And what of your friends, where can we find them?" Twilight placed an X on two cities. "I only know of Two. My friend Rainbow Dash is held in the mining fields of Baltimare and my other friend Fluttershy is being kept at the new Minotaur capital that was once Manehattan. I hope they're alright."

'I'll have to explore the everfree later.' I mutter to myself. "Twilight, do you know of a place we can get weapons? All I have is a hunting knife, and I don't know how far that will get us." I said not wanting to for lack of a better term, 'bring a knife to a gunfight.'

Twilight looked a little saddened. "I'm afraid that the weapons caches have been raided and removed from most civilian territories. The only two places I know for a fact have weapons is Canterlot Castle, but that will be near impossible since that is where Tirek now resides." Aaron saw her shiver a bit. "And what of the other location?" Twilight began to cry a bit. "Th-The... Crystal Empire."

I looked at Twilight and hated to see her cry,  'damn cute ponies.' I muttered quietly to myself. I did something I never thought I would do, I lightly hugged her and somewhat blushed during the action while questioning 'since when did I become so brave around females.

Twilight froze as John brought her into a swift embrace. His weight could be felt through contact with his body but Twilight flt that the gesture was quite moving. "Thank you." SHe returned the hug and began to cry into her shoulders. Aaron found it to be a tender moment. Until that is... *Thunk thunk thunk* "This is the royal guard. We know you are in there! Come out and we will kill you immediately." Aaron turned to the door then back to Twilight. "I think he meant "or we'll kill you immediately." Twilight broke the hug. "No. No he didn't. Come. WE need to get upstairs past the bakery and through the nursery. From there, we can escape."

 

(They're in the Cake's bakery by the way.)

I cursed and just did what Twilight said, praying to God that I would not fail to help her resist this bastard. When I arrived in the nursery I saw a window that would place us at the back of the building, away from the guards, I opened and climbed out the window, ushering Twilight and Aaron out as well.

The three ran up the stairs to where Twilight had specified. Once they saw the window, they all ran to it, trying to unlock it, but as Aaron heard a crash downstairs, he turned around and he saw the contents of the room. And what he saw made his stomach lurch. The room had blood splatters everywhere. How they didnt slip on the crimson liquid was beyond him. Childrens toys were scattered across the floor and in the corner was a crib on its side. The blanket had two lumps in it and the blood seemed freshest there. He could only imagine what horror lay underneath.

 

There was a click at the window and As Johnathan opened it, Twilight climbed out and onto the roof. Aaron could not take his eyes off of the ghastly sight.  Climbing out, he tried to remove the image stained in his brain. "Johnathan, we have to get out of here." twilight whispered through the window.

I tapped Aaron on the shoulder and made a "come on" motion trying to ignore the bodies under the covers and the blood around them. Hoping that I got his attention, I climbed out of the window, hearing the soldiers footsteps or I should say hoof steps I found another road behind the shop that seemed absent of guards telling Twilight the area was seemingly clear, I carefully climbed down making sure the guards were out of sight the entire way and signaled that the nearby area was still clear.

Aaron turned and made his way out of the window with John. Twilight had made it to the ground, jumping from the roof. Aaron and John followed. The three could hear faint sounds of crashing. They were probably looking for them. "Okay, guys. We're going to need to get out of town. Its too dangerous to stay here. We need a train. And I know the only pony with magic to make the thing move." Aaron nodded as Twilight walked down the path to take the three to the pony they needed to talk to.

"Ill lag behind a little and see if we have followers." I then followed, keeping a hand on my knife's hilt located on my waist, not wanting to be as unprepared as I was in the beginning. I even started looking around nervously, reminding myself that this was not a dream as much as I really wanted it to be right now.

Twilight acknoledged John's request as he fell back to scout the area for followers. Aaron and Twilight came out from the buildings and into a clearing. A few feet ahead of them was a small caravan. Twilight came up to the door and knocked on it. "Trixie? You there?" The sound of bottles shuffling could be heard. The door opened to reveal another pony with a horn. Her coat was a light blue while her mane was darker. She had a purple hat and cape on with star patterns on it. But, what struck Aaron most of all was that she was naked. He couldn't really tell because Twilight wore that cloak that covered her body. "Yesh, what is ip Trilight." This mare was obviously intoxicated as well.

As John skulked his way, something was following him. Staying in the shadows and waiting for the right moment to strike. Watching him from the shadows to see where he would go.

I got a weird feeling in my gut, taking advice from my father when we went hunting. I decided to trust this instinct and looked around scanning for anything that I had not seen before and listened for any noise that was not the wind or the talking behind me. As time went on I even noticed my self draw my knife, finding a little comfort in it.

The beast saw John looking around his environment. The human could somehow sense danger around it and the creature watching recorded that information. Knowing this, it waited for for when he was directly behind him. It watched as John circled the area, and without warning, pounced towards John. Its globular shaped body emerged from the shadows. Its entire body was one watching giant eye with pale grey skin and legs that looked like a lizards. The green in the iris shifted to a threatening red as it made contact with John's body.
