Marathon 562 May 24, 2014 Share May 24, 2014 https://pony.fm/tracks/2223-winterprogressive-house-wip Here's the first 30 seconds or so I've thrown together. Never done progressive house so tell me how I'm doing Also, this song was inspired by a friend, so thanks to her! "And with a sigh, she closed the old dusty book and set it gently back on its self. Wishing for a better day to come tomorrow. So that today can be forgotten and lost in the memories of that book..." http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/cadence-r2169 -Cadence (Little Hop) http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/lila-fireheart-r2356 -Lila Fireheart: The queen of FallenMoonhttp://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/flash-note-r5473 -Flash Note: Silent, sweet, and explosive.... Rainbow-Crash 101 May 25, 2014 Share May 25, 2014 (edited) Im not the best at giving feed back but i can give it a go Its house so the kick and clap/snare need to be the best they can. (IMO) i think you need to let the kick breath a little more, allow some of the clicky high end though a little more (not too much though) and if you havent, just grab a high pass filter and start filtering off the low end until you hear a change, when you here change nudge it back slightly. this will get rid of frequencies that you cant hear and it will allow for more head room later on. For the clap, it seems to be all high end. This might just be opinion again but give it a little more body. I would dare say even down to 1000hz. Try these things, it might not work for this track particularly but you have nothing to loose in trying Its a good start though and i really like the atmosphere of this song. Its very kool Edited May 25, 2014 by Rainbow-Crash
piece5 132 June 5, 2014 Share June 5, 2014 Hella sexy. You going for progressive house, or trance? It has a trance-y feel to it. Idk. In the intro, fade in should be faster, regardless of genre. Maybe add just a smidge of distortion to it. I love it though, good job!
BrilliantVenture 334 June 5, 2014 Share June 5, 2014 I think you've got a good thing goin here...I really do. But I'd re-do the drums firstly...they sound too stock. Buy/Torrent a reputable sample pack, (Xfer has some good ones!) or make your own...but I feel the most important part is that you find a way to tie your sounds together...they're pretty good as they are now...but you need something to string them all together. Perhaps a nice faint arp in the background? Also make sure to work on your percussion too...needs to be nice and unique for a good prog house track keep up the good work though! Ziggy + Angel + Rain 11,303 June 5, 2014 Share June 5, 2014 I like the sound of it; that's about how in-depth my feedback will get lol. What I immediately thought of was Top Gear on SNES. It doesn't necessarily have a video game vibe, but my brain just thought it'd be good tuneage to do some virtual, nighttime driving by. "It uses the faculty of what you call imagination. But that does not mean making things up. It is a form of seeing." - from "The Amber Spyglass"
