Twilight and her friends are called to Cloudsdale to check on the citizens and see that they're happy and that all is well after the Tirek attack. However, after a certain.....recent event in the Crystal Empire, Spike is too afraid and ashamed to set even a claw in the cloud city. Can the Wonderbolts help him overcome these feelings?

The B story actually appeals to me, and you have a nice open sandbox considering there isn't much Spike and Dash interaction on the show.

^^^^^ I said the Wonderbolts are helping him, not Dash. Dash took an entrance exam to become a reserve member, yes, and she's a trainee, yes, but she's not a Wonderbolt yet.

I know you intend on having the Wonderbolts involved in the lesson arc, but I figured it would be a great opportunity to draft a scene or two (either as a set up or during resolution) involving Dash and Spike.

 

Then there is also the ironic angle you can play off of, if you take the approach that the Bolts actually don't take cultural nationalism that seriously, which allows for an extra layer when you consider how much Twilight and RD freaked out in Testing 1,2,3.
