I'm ones step closer to entering Equestria!

So I just read this article:

Human 'suspended animation' trials to start this month

Although in the article it says:

We are suspending life, but we don't like to call it suspended animation because it sounds like science fiction... we call it emergency preservation and resuscitation." and "the technique is currently only useful for emergency procedures after severe injuries, situations with a survival rate of only seven percent. "

It got me thinking about that one Russian research project to offer immortality to billionares by transplanting their brains into robot bodies

Now I'm nowhere close to being a billionaire, I'm not even a thousandaire yet -because I can't stop buying pony stuff!- but if the suspended animation trials are successful and they eventually get released for public use, there could be a sci-fi type deal where people choose to suspend their animation until a specific date.

I myself would choose to suspend my animation until the public can afford to be put into robot bodies, and not just billionaires. In the meantime, it would be awesome if there was a technology to put your mind into some kind of coma dream. I would elect to go to Equestria and spend my time as a run of the mill earth-pony in Ponyville with big dreams of living in the big city of Manehattan or Canterlot. That'd be awesome!  B)

Also, this thread is a fine example of why you shouldn't eat a bunch of sugar while simultaneously being sleep deprived. It leads to weird thoughts!

I mostly brohoofed it because of the bit at the end. That made me chuckle. :D

Interesting idea, though. Doesn't really surprise me that people are trying to do that, or that they're getting closer. Although personally, I quite like my life as it is. Or at least, I doubt it would be any better if it were 500 years in the future. So I'd just keep the life I have. :)

Such technologies I find distressing. We can print kidneys and clone our own hearts. But what will this technology be used for? Making health and medicine cheap and affordable to those in need? Nope. Helping the rich and indulgent live unnaturally long lives? Well, the rich sure hope so.

That sounds like Futurama. No more Fox for me...

But the robots will take over soon. Why not ask momma skynet to make your portion of the matrix Equestria? Just promise to be a very very good little battery.

Interesting read I gotta say. Implying the tech became easy for public use I can only imagine there would have to be some sort of special something to make so you can be like kthnxbai world and freeze yourself into dreamland without a worry. Now I can see the rich being able to pull that off sure but the general public. I dunno... Cool idea though  :)
