Journal Entry #3: Helping Kids with Diabetes (Training Session)
Hey everyone. Later today I'm going to be training to be a counselor in training for a diabetes day camp at the end of the month. I've been diabetic for 6 months (I nearly died because of it), and for a while, was a depressing time. I didn't want to become diabetic, but I had no choice because of genetics (thanks, Dad... T_T). But things started to get better for me when I was able to give myself my own shots, and do all my blood work on my own. When I was told I had to go to a camp, I was like "fuck that shit," because I hate camp with a passion. But then my mother soon told me that I could help little kids with diabetes. Now, this got me because I love kids, and I do like helping people, especially the little ones.
I think my training starts at 4 today and will end at around 6 I believe. The day camp itself doesn't start until July 28th (a day after my Brony birthday), and ends on August 1st (the day Guardians of the Galaxy opens). I do think I'll have a great experience with this, and I hope I get to do it next year.
