Is this a kids' show handling depression with tact and respect? Get out of here! Hell is now an NHL venue and I'm pretty sure if I searched Ancestry.com, I would find a Capuchin monkey listed as my nephew.

It's very unfortunate that the very idea of putting this kind of emotional weight into a story written for kids triggers a Battle of Gettysburg between the creatives, executives, and fans of the medium. This is one kind of story I really wish MLP could do, considering the high bounty on self-discovery and self-image in its society, to dampen the borderline utopic view of life that it presents and present a character or conflict relatable to a huge set of the fanbase. Why must we delude ourselves with the notion that everyone gets a happy ending when there are so many that can't even be happy in the first place?

Sadly, thanks to today's mostly Bowdlerized and commercialized television landscape, one can really only dream... -_-
