The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada provides transportation services in Clark County as well as the Las Vegas Valley region. Outlying suburbs provide their own service using RTC supplied transit vehicles.

Fleet Size: 408

 

Routes: 51

 

Manufacturer and Powerplant: RTC procures primairly from British manufacturers Wrightbus and Alexander Dennis and are supplemented by vehicles built by New Flyer and NABI. RTC is known to operate articulated, Double Decker and low floor models. Although the majority of the fleet is still Diesel powered, the RTC has begun the transition to alternative fuels.

Fare Collection: There is no Contactless Card Payment System in Las Vegas. RTC offers a "Reduced Fare ID Card" Which must be purchased before boarding the bus. Discounts are given to Seniors, Students and Locals riding non-premium service routes.

Livery: Originally branded as "Citizens Area Transit" RTC buses featured a white, magenta and blue paint scheme which was unpopular. After the change over the RTC re-branded the fleet with a new Gold and Blue paint scheme.

Innovations: RTC is well known for engaging the community for input on how to better improve the system. RTC is also known for its unique route numbering structure which brands some routes instead of giving them a Number/Letter designation. "The Deuce" is the name of the RTC's Double Decker Service for example.

$6 gets you unlimited rides up and down the Strip all day. However, the place I stayed at was closer to the Monorail, so we took that instead. Anyways, another great post. Those gold buses are iconic to me.
