Reasons why I need a new laptop

So I had received a Chromebook for my 18th birthday back in 2013. Fast forward 2 years, and it has now come to the point of almost being unusable. I never really liked this thing because it didn't support my needs. There's a possibility that I would still have an iPhone if this laptop supported iTunes. Maybe I could play PC games if it ever supported Steam, but it doesn't.

Don't get me wrong, I liked this thing for the time I had it (even when it worked correctly and didn't crash every so often) but the Google OS is not the type of thing you would want if you are going to use software similar to the ones I mentioned above.

Now it's time for the real reasons why I need a new laptop

  • I mean this is ridiculous. Believe it or not, I have no idea how this happened, but it must have been one of the times it fell. I have to connect via HDMI to the TV in my room in order to use it, basically using it as a monitor, which is what I am doing right now.

  • The laptop doesn't even connect to my home WiFi. No matter how many times I unplug the router, how long I wait, and how many times I disable the WiFi on the computer itself before enabling it again, it will not connect. It doesn't even have an Ethernet port. I am currently using my phone's hotspot, and it has been connected ever since I turned it on.

  • It's all beat up. There are a ton of scratches and dents all over the place. Samsung letters were placed on the outer part of the screen, and all the letters are gone.

  • I am really tired of using my phone. For starters, I am not able to do things like change font sizes or colors from the desktop version of the forums on my phone. I've really been juicing my battery since i'm constantly on it, meaning that I would have to constantly charge it, and that could create battery problems (which has already happened before. I had to get a replacement phone last month because of it; i'm just glad it was still in warranty at that time.)

Yeah so that's that. I should be getting a new one in the coming weeks, since I currently have a summer job. And once I do get a new one, I could finally put this thing to rest.

Hm. I am still using my eee PC 1000H and once I switched to Lubuntu with i3, it runs decently... Not something I would recommend to erryponeh, but hey.

Preferably one that doesn't exceed $250, where I can use Steam or programs like Photoshop. It could be an Acer, or if not I would accept Dell, or just anything that meets that price range. I also would like it new, and not refurbished.

What would you want the quality of your Steam games or Photoshop to be like on the laptop?

Well considering that I've never used either program, I'm hoping it's simple enough for someone who is new to things like that. I'm pretty smart, and can catch on quickly.
