Nope its in my dad's name

Then you'll have to buy your own car. Get something cheap, as long as it gets you from point A to point B. It is very important that you do get a car to show that him taking the car isn't hurting you. I could list more reasons such as showing that you can be independent if you need to, but I think you get the point.
