Worst Material by Metal Bands You Like (Post #2)

Alright so again this is not "man this music sucks" entry. This is just "Yea not my favorite material from this band I really like."
So first I'm gunna start with one that is a legit opinion of mine.

The Black Album/Self-titled by Metallica: The album, to me, was very boring. Some of the songs are not exactly boring on their own but altogether the album is a boring listen. It's a hour long, but of tired out material that sounds very similar. Many of the solos sound very similar and the drums tracks are weak. Lars worst work. Worst songs: "Of Wolf and Man" "The God that Failed" "My Friend of Misery" and yes I don't like "Enter Sandman" either.

Next thing on my list a song that is an example of just terrible ideas for a metal song. Aha.

In Cold Blood by OTEP: a band that usually puts out very heavy material and the softer material is usually very well constructed. This song however just uses this generic sound that is very boring. Also the drum track is terrible. The automated drums in the background. It just doesn't fit at all and sounds pretty dumb. But those are just my thoughts.

My second favorite band decided to follow up "Toxicity" with "Steal this Album!," many people dubbed the album "Toxicity II" before it was released and it makes sense too because alot of the songs sounded exactly like bits and pieces of songs from "Toxicity" and reworked for this album.

This album obviously had great songs, but overall the album was just meager compared to all their other work. Still decent to listen to all the way through. Worst songs: "Nuguns" and "Mr.Jack"

I don't know if anyone knows about a band called Dope. They created this song

When I heard I was like AYE! but then listened to the album, expecting it to be heavy like this, but they had many boring songs with just generic sounding material. The album was entitled life

Another instance of a band going from a great album to a not so great album is this

Life is Peachy by Korn
Yea.......many of the songs sound like altered versions of each other on this album and the ones that don't kind of just drag on.

These are all bands that I overall enjoy the hell out of, but you know they don't always have music that I'm like "omg yass" all the time.
Alright what are some of y'alls leatt favorite material from bands/artists you like? Go ahead and comment below.

I think everyone who isn't 10 years old or younger knows "Enter Sandman", whether they like the song or not. I personally like it. For albums I don't like, well if I don't like them I usually skip them and erase them from my brain. So sorry, none I don't like that I remember. ^_^

Black album may not be the best, but it's certainly better than Load, Re-load & St.Anger.

I used to like Bullet For My Valentine, but they lost me when they released Fever. It lacked the distinctiveness of the prior two releases. Then Temper, Temper came out. And just about everyone agree's that was even lower. Very radio rock.

Sepultura had quite the rough patch when frontman Max Cavelera left. An Album like Nation had some very samey songs, and tried to mix in vocal snippets between them.

And while not a bad album, I disagree with Exodus switching back to classic vocalist Steve Zetro Souza for Blood in, Blood out. His vocals haven't aged well and he just comes across as a screechier Brian Johnson. A good chunk of the fanbase agree that prior vocalist Rob Dukes was the best the band had, and shouldn't have been let go so unceremoniously. For that, the album will always be imperfect.

Same deal can be said for another Metallica piece, ...And justice for all. Good songs, but poor production, and the editing/neutering of bassist Jason Newstead leaves a bitter taste in my mouth when I hear the official studio tracks.

Well I never finished hearing those albums so I didn't include them. I see what you mean with the poor production, but overall the album sounded incredible either way. All the other instruments and the vocals were enough to pull this album out the dumps, for me that is. "Justice" - Great songs, bad production, "Black Album" - Great Production, Bad Songs

I definitely liked Max better but still like the things I've heard with new singer.

I agree with the Temper Temper thing. Pretty boring. Didn't hear the rest of the album tho.

When it comes to Exodus all I heard so far is Bonded by Blood and it was awesome. Wasn't huge on the vocals but still great.

I used to be big into The Ozzman and purchased several of his albums, but his "The Ultimate Sin" album was something of a disappointment.  I don't think I'm alone in feeling that way.  The only track from TUS that I've ever heard get radio-play was "Shot in the Dark," and I don't even particularly like that track.

OMG I Love Ozzy!!! My fav artist of all time!

I actually really liked Ultimate Sin. Pretty damn Heavy and Pretty damn Ozzy. I do agree Shot in the Dark is a step down from his quality tho.

But he's my favorite for a reason. I like everything he's put out. My least fav album might be Bark at the Moon tho.

Well actually, hmmm....Idk I would put Ultimate Sin and Bark at the Moon at the same level. Great but least favorites
